Randy couldn't feel the excitement rippling through the chat.

All he could do was stand there, forcing a smile, as Ushi Gozen pulled the mask away from her face and let it drop — revealing the terrifying grin underneath.

She was lucid. Disturbingly, completely lucid. Her speech was measured, her logic was clean, and there wasn't a single crack in her composure that suggested she needed persuading.

That made her more dangerous, not less.

"Hello," Randy managed. "I'm your Master. You can call me Randy."

"Names are meaningless now." Ushi Gozen tilted her head slightly, studying him the way a blade might study a whetstone. "What matters is the color of a soul. And yours—" her smile widened a fraction, "—is quite chaotic. Which is not bad. At least you had the courage to summon me in this form."

She paused.

"So tell me, Master. What is your wish?"

Ushi Gozen, reborn as a weapon through the corruption of black mud, carried no sentiment, no longing, no grief. What remained in her after the transformation was a single absolute: the desire to destroy. Not as a means to an end — as an end in itself. The entire world, reduced to nothing, every living thing folded into the void between one heartbeat and the next.

If her Master shared that desire, she might spare him for last — a courtesy of sorts. A final indulgence before the grand finale.

If he didn't—

Randy swallowed once, quietly, then planted his feet.

"I'm not sure what my wish is yet," he said. "Maybe there are many. But right now — I just want victory. Only victory. That's all I want."

He set El-Melloi's Magic Furnace down in front of her as he spoke, the device humming with the steady output of near-limitless magical energy.

Ushi Gozen looked at it. Then she looked at him.

The smile at the corners of her mouth stretched slowly until it reached her ears.

"Chaotic, but distinct." Her voice dropped half a register. "Very good. Then I'll be your blade for now — as long as your conviction doesn't waver."

A beat.

"And what about my wish?"

[Chat]:

[Wait_What]: she's asking HIM?

[Brave_Idiot]: he literally just asked the demon lord what she wants

[Lore_Note]: Avengers corrupted by black mud don't immediately kill their Masters — they need a bigger target. The Master is just dessert.

[Horrifying]: "dessert" is really not a comforting way to frame that

Randy didn't flinch.

"Fine. Tell me."

Ushi Gozen let out a laugh — sharp and bright, completely wrong for the content behind it.

"Your courage is far greater than I imagined." She spread her arms wide. "Then I won't hide it. My wish is to destroy this world. To overturn it. To guide every living being on it into the realm of death." The grin held, steady and absolute. "Are you satisfied with that reason?!"

[Chat]:

[Casual_Genocide]: she said that like a normal person would say "I want to visit Paris someday"

[Randy_Watch]: is he going to run? please run

[Actually_Though]: game mechanics — corrupted Avengers need their Masters alive as a summoning anchor. she CAN'T kill him yet

[Uncomfortable_True]: "yet" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence

[Chaos_Fan]: I love her

Randy's favorability with Ushi Gozen had flatlined the moment he'd used black mud to corrupt her summoning. He'd known that going in. But zero favorability wasn't the same as immediate hostility — Avengers aimed their hatred at something grander than the person in front of them. Humanity. The world. Everything.

In that context, Randy was barely worth acknowledging. He was the instrument, not the target.

And that was exactly the gap he'd decided to stand in.

"That's quite a boast," he said flatly. "Then show me. Show me the power to destroy the world."

[Chat]:

[He_Said_It]: HE SAID IT

[No_Filter]: bro has ZERO survival instincts

[Actually_Correct]: this is correct play. Avengers respond to conviction. wavering would get him killed. matching her energy is the only move.

[Still_Insane]: "matching her energy" when her energy is WORLD DESTRUCTION

Ushi Gozen's expression shifted into something older and more absolute.

"No problem."

She drew the black blade in a single smooth motion and drove it into El-Melloi's Magic Furnace.

The reaction was immediate.

Pitch-black magical energy erupted outward in a torrent, rolling across the ground like floodwater, warping the air above it into dark heat. The earth trembled — a deep structural tremor, the kind that comes from something enormous shifting its weight. And then, rising out of that darkness, assembling itself from the raw overflow pouring through the Furnace—

A god with no head.

Where the head should have been, a pair of golden bull horns floated suspended in mid-air, untethered, radiating authority. The body beneath them was mountain-scale — a saddle the size of a city block rested across its back, lightning coiling around it like a crown. The whole thing crackled and rumbled and rose, carrying Randy and Ushi Gozen into the sky as it unfolded to its full height above the clouds.

[Chat]:

[Good_Heavens]: WHAT IS THAT

[Scale_Check]: I feel like this thing is Vritra-sized. a regular mountain is like 1/3 its height

[No_Head]: floating horns where the head should be?? who designed this

[Lore_Connecting]: the lightning, the divine mount connection — could its true form be Indra's mount?

[Giving_Up]: so it's two top-tier Servants in one body. great. totally fine.

[Tactical_Question]: won't Red side just swarm it immediately if it's this visible?

[Counter]: as if Red side would just stand there watching

[Neutral_Comment]: Victor: no objections.

[Practical_Take]: it doesn't need to wipe everyone. if it takes out two opponents, it's already paid for itself

[Going_Further]: with this power level it could probably suppress all seven if none of them are top-tier

[Mourning]: from beautiful dignified mother to yandere destruction goddess. this is mom's villain arc

[Someone_Else]: my mom used to run a yakuza operation, now she mostly just whines — growth is nonlinear

[Observation]: Japanese Servants really do have a statistically higher rate of severe personality disorders

[Agreement]: laughing, but also yes

Max cut in, keeping his commentator voice clean and precise:

"Pseudo-divine level mount. Very strong. But given Ushi Gozen's activity window, just endure it."

Strong as it was, the Noble Phantasm had a timer. And with the FA Chapter map running five times larger than a standard Holy Grail War, the Red faction could simply keep their distance and wait it out. Brute force had a counter when the map was big enough.

He was already shifting the camera toward the other players when—

"Hahahahahaha!" Ushi Gozen's laugh rang out above the thunder. "Did you see it?! This is my power, Master! Well? Are you satisfied?!"

"It exceeded my expectations." Randy looked out across the clouds with the expression of someone doing math. "So what do you want to do next?"

"Vent a little." She pulled the black blade free from the Furnace and let the Noble Phantasm drink deep, the Ox-King Great Divine Messenger absorbing the full overflow of magical energy into itself. "You haven't made me want to kill you yet, which puts you in rare company. So — let's go to that town. Crush it. Convert their lives into magical fuel. That should settle my mood."

"SHUT UP!"

The shout came from somewhere below — another player who'd gotten close enough to hear.

"YOU DEMON!"

Ushi Gozen didn't look down. She was already urging the massive silhouette forward, the Ox-King Great Divine Messenger turning its headless gaze toward the distant city on the horizon, lightning gathering around the floating horns like a crown preparing to deliver judgment.

Randy said nothing. He didn't argue, didn't issue orders, didn't try to redirect her. He'd asked what she wanted to do. She'd told him. That was the arrangement.

The city sat quiet in the distance, unaware of what was coming.

And then — cutting through the darkness overhead, through the rolling thunderclouds and the crackling crown of lightning—

A streak of gold.

Fast. Precise. Aimed directly at Ushi Gozen.

It tore through the upper air like a thrown spear and kept going, trailing light behind it, closing the gap between wherever it had launched and the top of the Ox-King's headless shoulders in a single breath.

Randy had just enough time to look up.
