Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Wolf Meat

Rex was still looking at the blue sky and the yellow sun in the distance. He lay there, admiring the sky and the sunlight, remembering bittersweet memories. A tear slipped from his eye. He felt sad.Noticing that he had cried a little, remembering his past, he slowly stood up. His clothes moved gently with a soft rustle as he rose.

He wiped the tear from his eye, then looked at the sky once again. The evening light was fading, and night was approaching. He muttered softly,"Hmm, it has been a long time since I saw a sky like this. I hope this time I can finally achieve my revenge on those bastards. But first, I need to understand where I am. And who is the dominant race on this planet."

He sighed, then looked around. His power had created a large area of devastation. He raised his palm in front of him. A faint purple light glowed from his hand, and small white dots became visible, swirling around like particles of time.

Rex rotated his hand slowly clockwise, and the entire scene around him began to change. It was as if time itself was reversing inside the destroyed area. Trees regrew, shattered ground restored, fallen leaves returned to branches.Within seconds, the land looked exactly as it was before Rex arrived.

He had reversed the time of this place. It was one of the abilities he created for himself while trapped inside the Void. He had a lot of time to think there, and from that, he formed a set of powers. Time reversal was one of them. Its limitation was clear. He could only reverse time for non-living objects. That included trees, grass, soil, rocks, and air, but it did not work on living beings that interacted with the world.

The area now restored, he looked around and nodded to himself."I need to find some intelligent species or a settlement," he thought.

He picked a random direction and began walking deeper into the forest. As he walked, he observed how the trees moved gently in the wind, how sunlight slipped through the branches, and how small creatures interacted with nature. He saw birds and wild animals, but none of them interested him.

He continued walking for some time. The deeper he went, the denser the forest became. Trees reached heights of nearly one hundred to one hundred twenty meters, with massive trunks twenty to thirty meters wide. They were ancient giants.

Suddenly, he noticed something strange.Everything had become silent.

Evening had not fully arrived yet. The sun was still above the horizon. Yet the forest was unnaturally quiet.Rex stopped walking and scanned his surroundings carefully. His senses sharpened as he tried to understand the anomaly.

Then he heard it.

A rustling of leaves.

His eyes shifted to the right.

A massive wolf, almost six feet tall at the shoulder, stepped out from behind a tree. Its eyes locked onto Rex like he was prey.

"The fuck are you…" Rex murmured. "Hmm, you are a wolf, but your size is too big for a normal wolf."

The wolf growled deeply."Grrrrrrr…"Saliva dripped from its mouth as it stared at him.

Rex didn't react. He simply observed it, thinking.

"Yo, you big wolf, can you talk?" he asked casually.

The wolf tilted its head, confused, as if thinking, "What the hell are you talking about, human? I'm a wolf. How would I speak human language?"

Irritated, the wolf decided to attack. It leaped high into the air, its jaws aimed at Rex's shoulder. It bit down, but nothing happened. Its teeth couldn't pierce him.The wolf jumped back, confused. Then it attacked again, biting Rex's shoulder once more. Again, nothing.

The wolf retreated a second time, staring at Rex, terrified and confused.

Rex stepped toward it."For your reckless attack, I can assume you have very low intelligence. You can't even talk. Useless. But with a body like this, I think you will be my first meal after a very long time. So stay there and let me kill you."

Hearing this, the wolf panicked. It understood that this human was beyond its level. It turned and ran into the forest as fast as it could.

Rex frowned."No! My food, don't run away! It has been a long time since I ate something. Come back here!"

The wolf, hearing him, ran even faster, trembling in fear.

"Come back, my food!" Rex shouted.

He ran after the wolf. The terrified creature sprinted desperately until it reached a dead end. A cliff rose in front of it. It had nowhere to run.

The wolf whimpered and lowered its head as if begging him not to kill it.It tried to convey, in its own way, that attacking him earlier was a mistake.

Rex didn't care.

He raised his palm.A thin purple line appeared in the air.

The wolf's body split cleanly into two pieces. Its head fell to the ground. Its body collapsed beside it.

Rex's mood instantly brightened. After such a long time, he finally had something to eat.

He gathered wood from nearby trees and started a fire. He flicked his finger, and purple flames lit the wood instantly. Soon he built a large cooking fire.He uprooted a tree with one hand and sharpened the top like a spit. A mischievous smile formed on his face as he prepared to roast his meal.

He separated the wolf's head and body, cleaned the meat with his bare hands, removing fur and intestines. He placed the meat onto the sharpened tree trunk and positioned it above the fire to cook slowly.

Then he walked back to pick up the wolf's head. As he lifted it, something inside felt hard. Not bone, but something else.

He reached inside and pulled out a green stone, about the size of his pinky finger. He placed the head back into the fire pit and examined the stone.

It looked like a green gem, but he could clearly sense some type of energy inside it.
