It had been a couple of hours since Arsa landed on Sundra. She had calmed down a bit. Her wounds were also in better condition because of Finn's treatment. Gridlock was still working on fixing the ship.
Finn said, "Arsa, I don't understand. Why would anyone wanna die?" Arsa who was still laying on the ground said, "That question alone tells me all about your life so far. I'm jealous." Finn said, "Please answer my question. Even if you're going through unbelievable pain, I just don't understand why you would wanna just let go of everything."
Arsa stayed quiet. Finn said, "Please answer m-" "Shut up, Kid", Gridlock said. Finn replied, "I'm not talking with you, Gridlock." Gridlock said, "I can't concentrate with you making all that noise. Just leave the poor girl alone, brat." Finn said, "Fine..."
After this, Finn decided to leave Gridlock and Arsa alone for a while and go on a walk. Finn walked around the empty desert looking at the beautiful orange sky wondering how his life came to this. Not long ago, he was enjoying a lavish life but it was all taken away from him so quickly. He hated having such hardships. Finn remembered Gridlock's words and realized so many people in the galaxy have worse conditions than him and they've been having them their entire lives. He truly felt sorry for them.
He cried.
Gridlock tried to start talking to Arsa. He said, "You mentioned someone named Ermi. Who are they?" Arsa stayed quiet. Gridlock said, "Wow, seems like you really don't like whoever they are. I just hope it's not the same Ermi that I know." Arsa looked a bit interested but still stayed quiet.
Gridlock, while looking excited, said, "Now... This baby will be back running in no time. This is why I always have some handy equipment." Arsa had an empty face. Gridlock said, "Come on, girl... Give me a little smile, will you?" Arsa still had an empty face. Gridlock said, "Man... You are quite a bummer."
Finn suddenly felt it. He felt the ground shaking. Everything went blurry. His father walked up to him. Finn said, "Father? How are you here? Have you come to save me?" Thorn said, "You useless piece of garbage. You are nothing but a dissapointment. Why haven't you died yet?" Finn, while looking sad, said, "Father... What do you mean?" Thorn took out a sword and sliced Finn's chest. Finn screamed in pain and agony. Finn, with a weak voice, said, "Father... Why?" He looked over to the side and saw his mother on the ground crying. Amethyst, while crying, said, "How could I have given birth to such a useless son?" Finn said, "Mother... I'm sorry..." Everything started to become blurry once more and then Finn saw his sister. Finn said, "Anita... What's going on?" Anita replied, "Who are you to speak with me, scum?" Finn looked deeply hurt. Anita then said, "You should have never even been born." Finn screamed, "I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY EVERYONE! I'M SORRY FOR BEING SO USELESS... I'LL BE BETTER NOW! I PROMISE!" Thorn appeared in front of Finn once more and said, "Too late." He then took out his blade again and cut off Finn's head.
Finn woke up.
"Hey kid, Are you okay?", Gridlock said to Finn who was laying down on the rough sand. Gridlock said, "Why are you just passed out here in the middle of nowhere? Are you really that damaged? Don't worry, Kid. I'll get us outta here soon." Finn had passed out due to lack of nutrition and was seeing a horrible nightmare. Finn said, "Mr. James, I thank you for everything you've done for me." Gridlock looked confused. Finn then said, "But after we leave, I must carry out the mission my family gave me. I cannot dissapoint them any more." Gridlock said, "I know, Kid. I know. Now is not the time for us to be concerned about that. Just wait a bit longer and I'll be done with the ship." Finn said, "Once again, Thank you." "No need for that, Kid." Gridlock said.
In the planet of Plain, The picture room in the Greenfern Mansion was locked. Inside the room, Amethyst was still worrying for Finn and Anita was still comforting her. Amethyst said, "I hope my boy is okay." Anita replied, "He is, Mother. I know he is. He has to be. If he gets hurt anywhere, I'll scold him a lot when he comes back." Amethyst said, "You have to stop being like that with him, Daughter." Anita replied, "I can't, Mother." Amethyst said, "And why is that?" Anita, while looking at a picture of Finn from when he was a baby, replied, "Because I love my cute little brother more than anything in the universe." Amethyst said, "I wonder when he'll figure out that you're doing it all out of love." Anita, while smiling, said, "I hope he never does."
On the highest roof of the Greenfern Mansion, Thorn looked into the sky with a cold empty face. Ever since he sent Finn out of Plain, Thorn had never uttered a word about him. Thorn, in his head, said, "Please come back soon, Son."
