Half an hour pass now, Yu Jin who now is helping the group for loading captured to test subjects in vehicle while Brawl transferring data from Yu Jin's communicator. It's time consuming process because of slow processing speed of communicator. While nothing can done about it.Yu Jin continue the task.
It was Claud, squad's senior order him. While it is not necessary to listen his orders but openly rejecting him also was not a wise choice. Yu Jin completed given task and sit backside of vehicle. He starting do organize his thoughts about his future goals."I need a offical full name and weapon."Yu Jin thought inwardly.
Having offical full name increase his significance as a person. Also he can't be killed by someone like original owner. Officially named people are limited even within the city which increases their security and their entry logs maintained strictly. While it's good for their protection but their is clear disadvantage being monitored by continuously by the governor of city. But that something he had to worry about in distant future not now. "Still gun remain a troubling issue for now. Those guys must know me very well to strip my gun which means I can't do this scapler job also." Yu Jin shook his head disheartedly while thinking it.
He doesn't have any interest in this inhumane job but apart from shooting, driving and this scapler thing original owner don't have much skills or memories for other professions which is quite immediate problem for him. While he feels hopeless by just counting things he had to work on. But it was nothing comparing his failed sucide attempt from last night. Yes, he tried attempt sucide with suffocating his windpipe multiple times. It was his first desperate try towards survival. And reason for such irrational decision,

He was still very angry about his unsuccessful attempt. Reason of Yu Jin's anger was also biggest fear for him. He don't know why he thrown in this world? how it works? does anyone else also thrown into? if there really someone else came before him then what happened to them? did they return to earth? Those countless questions root of unsettling and anxious state of his heart. But true reason his non-stop fear was of feeling something trying not only stop his every sucide attempt but also heal his physical condition almost unnatural rate. It is fear of unknown and unexplainable goals from phenomenon, entity or from this very world itself which neither he can grasp or understand.
Yu Jin neither interested in surviving or have any faith in himself that he can rise top of this world. But he had do it from now because for something bring a dead person in another world and making sure he can't even kill himself is something he doesn't want think of messing with. If it's his previous life he can confidently say death most worst and absolute thing happens to everyone. For something to block and undone such most primal fear of all living beings. He doesn't want delve those thoughts anymore. All he can say surely is it 'I had to survive no matter what the situation is with absolute no other choice.'
Yu Jin which is those deep thoughts till now come out of reverie by Brawl's husky voice. "Here's your communicator." Brawl pass it to Yu Jin and sit infront of him." You seem much quite for age?" Brawl question him curious tone.
"No, I was just thinking how much I am going beaten by vice captain." Yu Jin answer in more sad and low tone. Brawl taps his shoulder light manner and laugh outwardly. And continue his conversation with Yu Jin. Others joins them eventually and Claud starts driving.
Sun finally rise in sky, majestically showing beautiful yet ulteriorly twisted, grosteque scenary of western region. With his each ray trying to devouring every corner of sky. Piercing through uncanny clouds and sheets of fogs and sooth coming from distant colossal walls of city. Their sheer presence asserting dominance over this hell which is devoid of life or meaning. This breathtaking beautiful yet ulteriorly inhumane scenary became Yu Jin's first core memory of this world.
"Is it special one?" Yu Jin who is taken back by scenary infornt of him regain his senses from unexpected question. It was Stan, sitting beside Brawl infront of Yu Jin. He question again while pointing his fingers towards Yu Jin's blue eye.
" No, it not any special one. It more like minor result of mutation or dna damage." Yu Jin answer calmly. " You may say that, but it gives unique vibes to your face. More like some mysterious one." Brawl agrees with Stan's statement." You are saying based on just looks but this blue one gives me slightly imparied vision.My captain used to say me that I needed len or prosthetic one in near future because of it's gradual worsening." Yu Jin complete his sentence with hint of sadness. What he said now was really truth. It nothing major for now but vision of his blue eye truly impaired. It is also registered as physical defect with potential blindness in his communicator as part of his biometric data. His minor physical defects was not an issue put potential to be blind is concerning one.
Stan tries change Yu Jin's mood with conversation while Brawl and other listening to them. Even though Stan trying lift Yu Jin's mood through conversation but he clearly assessing Yu Jin through it. Yu Jin also well aware of those tricks but he played along with him. He not much choice given his identity young rookie scapler also if acts much more indifferent for their expectations, they might get curious about his identity and try to dig him which is also informed his existence to the group originally killed the owner. He sign inwardly by thinking of just how much things he had worry about.
Journey continue for another four hours. Now all previous conversation has stop now with Brawl taking his shift of driving. Around 10'o clock time is pass. Now sunlight starting burn the ground intensely. Rotting smell from corpses becoming more strong now. Even vehicle's ventilation can't help much about it. There also still lingering smell of those captured test subject from vehicle storage compartment with some inbetween growl can be heard. Group finally starting see other vehicles and people all of them going in same direction. Group finally arrives at western gate of city. It took them another hour and half to reach.
Unlike before, place seems more lively and befitting to city. Their are multiple parallel lanes with large amount of vehicle going back and forth between the gate, more civilized manner giving familiar feeling to Yu Jin. Even though Yu Jin calling it gate but consist multiple designated check in points with different criterias. Even the city wall which seem to just a rigid elongated structure before is clearly different now. It has multiple watch towers, large artilleries and armed guards, vehicles patrolling routinely. But what catches Yu Jin's eyes most was from city wall to vehicles even weapons guard carrying contains intrinsic circuit with regularly emitting lights from wide spectrum. Giving off futuristic sci-fi vibe to them.
World of 'the Odyssey ' was more or less amalgamation between technology and magic. But all Yu Jin remember about it was pixelated 2d world through screen that's why current scene gives Yu Jin a sense of deja vu.
Group now slowly following lane containing small and medium size trucks. Even though their truck hovering few meters above in air, it was quite stable inside." It might take another two hours because of those guys." Brawl speaks to group while pointing towards neighbouring lanes. Yu Jin and others starting look towards that direction.
That was fast moving lane with long freights moving much faster pace. It was start of second quarter of year which makes western gate more busy than usual. Those freights also enter through southern and northern gate but given southern region infected with more ferocious monsters and their large hoards. And northern with those genocide maniac cultists making western gate much more stable and safe choice for entering the city.
2'o clock pass by now, sunlight which shimmering all corpses till start to roasting them. Even though ground is practically covered with corpses but their no visible parasites, scavenger even bacterial growth cannot seen on them. Reason for it lies in origin of test subjects or human experiments. In game protagonist was test subject who gain sentient and explore the starting city. Where he finds research labs making large batches of test subjects like him with connecting, merging and by modifying human flesh with countless different animals dna and synthetic organs for mimicking evolution and making sub humans. It was one of countless early storyline Yu Jin clearly remember about game. Even though game itself acknowledge them as human experiments and test subjects but they contain even less than one percent of human DNA and let's not talk about their hideous apperance.
" How many passengers in their and ID?" Armed guards question to Brawl in stoic tone." Six in total." Brawl answer shortly. All of them pass their metallic IDs towards guard who swipe them device named card reader." You guys where five when leaved and he was also with another group." Guard question them while showing their last exist logs to Brawl."Yes, we give this guy little lift while returning. He was on punishment by his group captain." Brawl replied to guard while pointing towards Yu Jin. Guard starting to look at Yu Jin thoroughly and recheck his ID while demanding his communicator. While all information he needed about Yu Jin present on his ID, guard checking through tagged and marked location data for confirming his activities till now." You can enter now." Guard gives entry sign to Brawl while giving back Yu Jin's communicator and ID.
" Finally coming sweet home, baby." Stan spoke enthusiastically while humming tone which he stop while ago.
