Chapter 33 - Barbatos · Wolf King

"A night has passed, and we haven't gotten any information. This guy really doesn't know anything..."

Lumine rubbed her sore eyes, watching the sun gradually rise in the distance.

The Abyss Mage, half-dead from the ordeal, was already foaming at the mouth and couldn't even form an elemental shield.

Paimon had long since fallen asleep on her shoulder, drooling, her little cape askew.

"That's enough, no more interrogation."

Elliot disdainfully picked up the Abyss Mage by its collar and tossed it into a pre-dug pit like trash.

Zane took out a shovel and quickly filled the pit with a few 'swish-swish' sounds, even stomping on the dirt twice.

"So what do we do next?"

Matt's mask glowed with a sleepy purple light, his voice tinged with a yawn.

"What else can we do? Let's go find some more fun!"

Jesse's mask 'snapped' open, revealing sunglasses, and he stretched energetically.

His cape flapped in the morning breeze, as if he hadn't been up all night.

"Perfect, we still have a pile of materials."

Zane's mechanical arm projected a hologram, displaying a mountain of Ruin Guard parts.

"How about building a Gundam?"

"Great idea!" x3

The three shouted in unison, their sleepiness instantly vanishing.

"Uh... what's a Gundam?"

Lumine tilted her head in confusion.

Paimon, startled awake on her shoulder, rubbed her eyes groggily: "Gun... what-dam..."

"Don't worry! When it's built, you'll love it!"

Elliot pulled out a screwdriver and wrench from who knows where.

The other three had already magically dumped various materials from their four-dimensional pocket: Ruin Guard cores, Stormterror's scales, and even a few pieces of what looked like Azhdaha's shed shell... Under Lumine and Paimon's dumbfounded gaze, the quartet began their suffocating God-making operation:

Jesse assembled the skeleton at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye;

Elliot sprayed coolant from his hands while using a folding stool as a hammer to pound the armor;

Zane attached a mechanical arm to his shoulder for assistance, transforming one steel component after another into precise joints;

Matt was responsible for wielding the thunder hammer—smashing disobedient parts into their correct positions... "Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle—"

"Bang, bang, bang!"

"Click!"

"Boom!!!"

Amidst the symphony of various noises, a stray cannonball joined in, and a behemoth gradually took shape.

As the first ray of morning sunlight pierced through the clouds, the quartet announced in unison:

"It's complete! The Teyvat Edition! Gundam Barbatos Fenrir Emperor Type!"

Standing before them was a steel giant nearly twenty meters tall.

Streamlined white armor was inlaid with cyan-blue patterns, its head sensors as sharp as wolf eyes, and its shoulder armor was decorated with exquisite Anemo Wing designs.

The most exaggerated part was its back armament—the left shoulder carried an improved Guizhong Ballista, the right shoulder had Zane's custom Superconduct electromagnetic cannon, and the giant sword at its waist was even engraved with the words "demacia"...

"This... this..."

Paimon's little mouth was wide enough to fit a Sunsettia.

A huge exclamation mark appeared above Lumine's head: "You call this a 'Gundam'?!"

She looked up at this war machine, almost as tall as the statue of the seven, her voice changing pitch.

"This is clearly a mobile fortress!"

"Hehe, cool, right?"

Elliot proudly patted the Gundam's armor.

"We used Dvalin's scales for the coating; its anti-magic performance is maxed out!"

Zane's mechanical arm popped out a cockpit: "Want to try it? I've simplified the operating system."

Matt added: "It might be a little bumpy when it starts..."

Before Lumine could answer, Jean, the Acting Grand Master, suddenly screamed from afar: "Honorary Knights! What are you building now?!"

Everyone turned around to see the entire Knights of Favonius mobilized—Jean's cape wasn't even tied properly, Kaeya's single eye was wide, and even Lisa had rushed over with dark circles under her eyes.

Even more exaggerated, the four saw Barbara on the church roof immediately drop to her knees and begin praying...

"We're doomed."

Paimon covered her eyes.

"We've been discovered..."

"What is this thing?!"

Acting Grand Master Jean's voice was already cracking, and her Favonius Sword clattered to the ground.

The usually elegant Grand Master now had no semblance of her image—her golden hair was a mess like a bird's nest, her cape only half-tied, clearly having been startled awake directly from her bed.

"Ahem, this is something we just built..."

Jesse's mask awkwardly switched to a "goody-two-shoes.jpg" expression.

They had chosen an open field in the wilderness, but they hadn't expected the noise during assembly to attract the entire Knights of Favonius.

"This is Gundam Barbatos... Forget it, let's just call it the Wolf King."

Zane's mechanical arm popped out a blue-glowing remote control, and he pressed the central red button.

"Hum—"

With the sound of the energy core activating, the Wolf King's eyes lit up with ice-blue light, and its joints emitted crisp mechanical clicking sounds.

When it raised its head, a majestic electronic voice echoed in the morning light:

"Gundam Barbatos Fenrir Emperor Type, startup complete. Artificial intelligence program loading... Detecting surrounding environment..."

The Knights of Favonius collectively took three steps back.

Kaeya's single eye almost popped out: "Ba... Barbatos?!"

He mechanically turned his head to look at Mondstadt in the distance.

"Isn't that naming a bit..."

"It just shares a name with the Anemo God!"

Zane quickly explained, his fingers flying across the remote control.

"We based it on Gundams from another world..."

He suddenly pressed the transformation button.

"Good thing I prepared a second form!"

Blinding white light burst from within the Wolf King, and its massive mechanical body began to fold and transform.

Armor plates slid and reassembled like living things, and the twenty-meter-tall giant shrank and reconfigured at a dizzying speed.

When the light faded—

"Holy crap! Zane, you're really awesome!!!"

Three Hilichurls cursed in unison.

Standing before everyone was a silver-white, two-meter-tall mechanical wolf-humanoid.

Streamlined armor covered precise muscle lines, and beneath the wolf-ear helmet was a single, cold-glowing optical sensor.

The electromagnetic cannon on its back folded into wings, and the hilt of the greatsword at its waist was engraved with "Fenrir Judgment."

The most incredible part was its mechanical wolf tail, which was elegantly swaying from side to side, its tip sparking with electricity.

Paimon's little mouth formed an O shape: "This, this is simply..."

She suddenly flew to Lumine's ear and whispered: "Traveler, your face is so red!"

Lumine abruptly covered her burning cheeks—this wolf-humanoid, full of technological beauty, perfectly hit all her definitions of "cool."

Especially when the Wolf King knelt on one knee and said "Master" in a magnetic voice with electronic mixing, she felt her heart pounding as if it would explode.

"Von Lycaon... No!"

Elliot's mask sprayed water wildly.

"This is too much like that wolf butler next door! It just needs a suit..."

Zane's mechanical eyes gleamed with pride: "I referenced designs from multiple worlds."

He pressed the demo button on the remote control.

"Look at this—"

The Wolf King suddenly did a backflip, its mechanical claws drawing the greatsword and cutting a perfect cross slash in the air.

Upon landing, its tail swept horizontally, the electromagnetic cannon extended to its shoulder, automatically locked onto a distant target, and fired.

The entire sequence of movements was fluid and graceful, more agile than a real person.

Lisa's magic book fell to the ground: "This has already reached the God-level..."

Kaeya was already taking frenzied photos with his Kamera: "Snezhnaya's toys are so weak..."

Jean, the Acting Grand Master, slowly squatted down, holding her forehead: "I need a moment of peace..."

Just then, the Wolf King's ears suddenly twitched, and it looked in a direction beside everyone: "Detecting high energy reaction... Suspected abnormal accumulation of Anemo element..."

Everyone followed its gaze and saw a green figure appear beside them at some point.

Venti, holding a wine bottle, stared dumbfounded at them, not even noticing his wine spilling.

"Uh..."

Venti weakly raised his hand.

"I'm just a passing Bard..."

Everyone: "..."
