Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE: THE NIGHT Everything BROKE

Love the theme already 😮‍🔥💔

Here is a catchy, emotional, urban romance Chapter One for your novel "Forced in His Arms". It's dramatic, clean, and gripping—perfect for posting as a first chapter on reading apps:

-

Rain poured heavily from the sky the night my life was ripped from my hands.

I stood outside the iron gates of the mansion, my shoes soaked, my heart shaking harder than the thunder above me. The cold rain slid down my face, mixing with my tears, but I didn't bother wiping them away. What was the point? My life had already collapsed.

One week.

That was all it took for everything to fall apart.

One week ago, I was just Arielle Hayes—a poor girl with big dreams, a working-class mother, and hope in her heart. Today, I was standing in front of the house of the most feared man in the city… about to be handed over like property.

The gates slowly opened with a deep, metallic sound.

Fear wrapped around my chest.

"Move," the man behind me barked.

I flinched.

Two uniformed guards pushed me forward harshly. My small bag slipped from my shoulder and dropped into a puddle. I turned to pick it up, but one of the guards dragged me by the arm.

"Leave it," he snapped.

That bag carried everything I had left in this world.

But apparently, I no longer owned anything—not even my freedom.

As I was dragged into the mansion, my legs trembled violently. The inside was quiet… too quiet. The kind of silence that made your heart beat louder than your thoughts. The marble floor shined under bright golden lights. Everything screamed wealth. Power. Control.

And danger.

They led me into a large living room and shoved me forward. I almost fell but caught myself just in time.

Then I saw him.

He stood by the window, tall and broad-shouldered, his back facing me. The city lights behind the glass formed shadows around him like a dark crown. He didn't turn immediately. He didn't need to.

The air already belonged to him.

"You can leave," his deep voice ordered.

The guards bowed slightly and exited quickly. Too quickly. Like they were running from a storm.

And now… it was just me and him.

My hands shook uncontrollably.

"Come closer," he said calmly.

Fear climbed up my throat, but my legs moved on their own. Each step felt like I was walking toward my own sentence. When I finally stood a few feet behind him, he turned around slowly.

My breath caught.

He was even more terrifying up close.

Sharp jaw. Cold dark eyes. A face carved with authority and danger. A man who had never begged for anything in his life—only taken.

This was Damien Blackwood.

The devil of the city.

He looked me over like I was nothing but a transaction. Not a person. Not a girl. Just a debt.

"So," he said. "You're the one they want to use to pay."

My lips trembled. "S-Sir… please, I don't understand—"

"You don't need to," he cut in. "Your mother owes me."

My chest tightened painfully.

"My mother is sick. She didn't mean—"

"She borrowed money she couldn't return," he said calmly. "And I don't lose."

Tears rolled freely now. "Please… I'll work. I'll do anything. Just don't—don't keep me here."

He walked toward me.

Each step he took made my heart race faster.

When he stopped in front of me, he lifted my chin with two cold fingers, forcing my eyes to meet his. His touch burned.

"Anything?" he asked quietly.

I swallowed hard. "Yes…"

For a second, I thought I saw something dark flash in his eyes.

Then he said the words that shattered my soul:

"Good. Because you now belong to me."

My world stopped.

"I—I belong to you?" I whispered.

"You'll live in this house. Obey my rules. Do as you're told," he said. "Until your mother's debt is paid in full."

"But I didn't agree to this!" I cried.

His grip tightened.

"You don't need to agree. This is not a choice."

Tears blurred my vision. "This is kidnapping…"

"This is business," he replied coldly.

I tried to pull away, but he suddenly wrapped his arm around my waist and dragged me into his chest. I gasped as my body was crushed against his powerful frame.

I was forced into his arms.

My heart pounded violently against my ribs as I struggled, but he held me effortlessly.

"Let me go!" I screamed softly.

His lips brushed past my ear as he whispered:

"You should learn something fast, little girl… struggling only makes it worse."

Then he pushed me away and turned his back on me like I was already beneath him.

"Take her to the guest room," he ordered suddenly.

Another guard appeared instantly and grabbed my arm again.

As I was dragged away, I looked back at the man who had just stolen my life.

And I knew one thing for sure…

Coming into Damien Blackwood's world was easy.

But escaping it?

Might destroy me.
