Chapter 3 - Infinite Game — Begin!

[Flawless Wooden Door]

[Type: Structure]

[Grade: 1]

[Defense: 10]

[Durability: 30/30]

[Upgrade Cost: 50 Omni Points.]

[Description: A flawless wooden door capable of resisting zombie attacks for a long duration.]

Seeing the panel floating before him, Rover immediately gave another command: "System, continue upgrading."

Right afterward, the wooden door transformed again, becoming even thicker. A layer of metal plating wrapped around its outer surface.

At the same time, the information panel updated.

[Steel-Plated Wooden Door]

[Type: Structure]

[Grade: 2]

[Defense: 20]

[Durability: 50/50]

[Upgrade Cost: 250 Omni Points.]

[Description: A steel-plated wooden door. Ordinary zombies cannot break through it. You may rest easy and enjoy your sleep. An invisible viewing slot is installed, you can see outside, but no one outside can see in.]

Looking at the door reflecting a faint metallic sheen, Rover felt far more at ease.

There was indeed a 10x10cm viewing panel on the door, yet only he could see through it. From the outside, it was invisible.

"If structures like walls can't be destroyed, then with this door, I should be safe for now."

Rover felt genuinely happy. While others were desperately searching for supplies, he had already upgraded his room door to Level 2.

He sat up, intending to wash his face, only to realize there was no running water. A hint of worry crept into his heart.

"No water… then…" His gaze shifted toward the toilet bowl, and his body trembled. "This is… really filthy."

Indeed, the only drinkable water he had was a single 350ml bottle, only enough for drinking, not for anything else.

If he had to pee or defecate, how was he supposed to clean up afterward?

But suddenly, his eyes lit up when a new information panel appeared next to the toilet.

[Toilet]

[Type: Structure]

[Grade: 0]

[Defense: ???]

[Durability: ???]

[Upgrade Cost: 30 Omni Points.]

[Description: A toilet with no water. Do not dirty it.]

Rover: "…"

But he still exhaled in relief. He was genuinely happy, the toilet could be upgraded. Otherwise… alright, enough thinking about filthy things.

"System, upgrade the toilet."

[30 Omni Points deducted. Remaining Omni Points: 76.]

[Toilet upgrade successful.]

[Toilet]

[Type: Structure]

[Grade: 1]

[Defense: ???]

[Durability: ???]

[Comfort: 20% – Grants 20 points once the toilet self-processes a full 5 liters of waste.]

[Upgrade Cost: 100 Omni Points.]

[Description: A self-processing toilet. No need to worry about pollution or disease. However, the water used by the toilet is not drinkable. Emphasis: Not drinkable!]

Rover chuckled. Even going to the toilet could generate Omni Points. That alone delighted him.

However… he had planned to exploit a loophole to get more water, but once the toilet upgraded, the water tank vanished entirely. He could no longer get any extra water from it.

"So the System's rules are airtight. No exploiting bugs."

Still, this was more than enough for him.

Steel-plated door — Safe.

Bed — Safe.

Self-processing toilet — Usable.

Now the only thing he lacked… was a phone with internet access, and he would never need to step outside again.

Rover took out a piece of bread, preparing to eat, when another information panel appeared before him.

[Bread]

[Type: Food]

[Grade: 0]

[Satiety: 50 points]

[Upgrade Cost: 5 Omni Points.]

[Description: Just an ordinary piece of bread. A bit hard to swallow, but enough to fill your stomach.]

"Even food can be upgraded?" Rover was a little surprised. "I still have 76 points left… maybe I should save some. System, upgrade the bread."

[5 Omni Points deducted. Remaining Omni Points: 71.]

[Bread]

[Type: Food]

[Grade: 1]

[Upgrade Cost: 20 Omni Points.]

[Description: This bread is quite delicious. It melts in your mouth and is lightly coated with butter. Hopefully it won't give you diarrhea.]

Rover: "…"

He pouted, then took a bite.

"Hm… not bad. Just like the bread served in high-end restaurants."

After finishing the whole piece, he felt full and couldn't eat anymore, so he grabbed his water bottle.

"This bottle of water should be upgradeable too."

As he expected, a notification appeared.

[Clean Water]

[Type: Food]

[Grade: 0]

[Amount: 350ml]

[Upgrade Cost: 5 Omni Points.]

[Description: A normal bottle of water. Nothing special.]

"System, upgrade this water bottle."

[5 Omni Points deducted. Remaining Omni Points: 66.]

[Clean Water]

[Type: Food]

[Grade: 1]

[Amount: 1.5 liters]

[Upgrade Cost: 20 Omni Points.]

[Description: Although its appearance hasn't changed, the amount of water inside has increased significantly.]

Rover's eyes widened with excitement. "The outside really hasn't changed, but the amount increased to 1.5 liters. That's insane."

He took a sip and felt coolness spread throughout his body, refreshing him instantly.

"It really did multiply." Rover noted that the water level didn't visibly drop, filling him with delight.

He used a small amount to wash his face and hands sparingly, of course. His remaining Omni Points were limited; wasting them was not an option.

Glancing at the timer, now only 20 minutes left, he sat on the bed waiting for the zombies to appear.

Since he had slept so much earlier, he was now fully awake. Not sleepy at all, just bored.

No phone.

No internet.

No television.

Boredom was inevitable.

So he opened the global chat to pass the time. That was when he noticed the death count had risen to seven.

One killed by Danny.

Six others killed by newly formed groups.

According to the chat, those groups tricked Owners into opening their doors, then killed them as fast as possible to seize their rooms.

With over 100 Survivors lacking a room, forming gangs to steal rooms was almost expected.

At this moment, Rover felt incredibly lucky — not only did he start with a room, he had also awakened an SSS rank Class.

"Wait!" Rover suddenly noticed something. He frowned and searched through the chat history.

After a long moment, he opened his eyes wide, filled with suspicion. "Nobody mentioned Classes, Talents, or Skills. Does that mean…"

Yes — although people discussed their Newbie Gift Packs, no one mentioned any Talent, Skill, or Class information. Every message was about food or supplies.

"Are they hiding that information?" Rover wondered aloud, but immediately shook his head. He didn't believe it.

There were 400 people here. Even with 7 dead, 393 remained.

Yet not a single one had said anything about receiving a Class or ability. That meant only one thing:

They didn't receive any.

"So that means… I'm the only one who got a Class. And not just any Class — an SSS Rank Class." Rover whispered, his expression shifting from concern to pure exhilaration.

"Hahaha… that's perfect. I can grow freely. By the time they discover or unlock special abilities, I'll already be far ahead."

Feeling cheerful, he sat on the bed, waiting for the countdown to end.

A moment later, the System's voice echoed, accompanied by a glowing panel.

[Ting! Ting! Ting!]

[Countdown complete. First event — 'Zombie Raid'.]

[Infinite Game — Begin!]
