Five
- Alrisha's POV -
I could vaguely hear a noise interrupting my sleep. I squeezed my eyes as I pulled my pillow and put it on my eyes. But it doesn't help at all.
I pressed the pillow on my ear but I could still hear it. Damn! It's getting on me. I shoved the pillow and stood in annoyance.
I froze as my eyes widened.
It had been a couple of days since my room was a mess and I managed to clean it. And now it was a disaster.
Because of this freaking frogs jumping everywhere and ruining everything. My day hadn't started yet but it was already ruined. Can this day get any worse?
"What a devil!" I cursed.
I heard footsteps rushing to my room. And before I could think of who it might be, the door opened and Elaina and Francine appeared. Both of them were surprised and it seemed their eyes were about to come off.
"Frogs after trash!" Francine exclaimed.
"Elaina! Did you call Kieffer for this!?" I yelled.
"Certainly not! Why the hell would I do that?!" Elaina yelled back.
"Then who did this?!" I was really pissed off.
"It's probably Kieffer and company but I didn't tell him to do this." Elaina explained.
"Okay, fine." I jumped off from my bed, "Elaina, will you be kind enough to clean our room? There's something I have to do."
"Alrisha, I don't like that tone." Francine uttered.
"I don't care!" I snapped and stormed to the door. But before I could pass them, Elaina blocked my way.
"And where are you going?" Elaina asked, narrowing her eyes at me.
"To dormitory #149." I pushed her away and I walked past them.
"I'm coming!" I heard Elaina shouted.
"Stay there and clean our room!" I shouted back without looking at her.
Kieffer started this so I'll give him what he wanted.
I arrived at the green building and went straight to his dormitory. The hallway was so quiet. I guess most of the students were in their classes.
I tried to twist the doorknob and it seemed it was locked inside. With no hesitation, I kicked the door open. At first, it didn't open up but continuously kicking it with full strength made it open.
Kieffer and his friends were sitting on a bed. They seemed to be amused with my unexpected appearance. Before he could think of it, I walked straight to Kieffer and gave him a good punch on his face.
He fell on the bed and he groaned in pain, "What a bitch!"
I was about to move closer to him when Dwayne blocked my way, "If only you're not a woman, you are so dead."
I burst out a sarcastic laugh, "Yeah! I am as dead as you can be!"
He glared at me as he clenched his jaw. His look was so sharp like it could kill me anytime. But I wasn't terrified of that. It didn't even give me chills.
I saw behind him that Kieffer stood while massaging his cheek and he placed his hand on Dwayne's shoulder, "Stay back, Dwayne. I'll take care of this."
Dwayne stepped back and our gaze met. His glare was so terrifying but not enough to make me tremble. It won't work against me.
"You got a nerve to walk in the enemy's place," he gave me a sarcastic smirk, "You're brave, I'll give you that but not enough to take me down."
With a mocking smile, I replied, "Did I just hit you 5 minutes ago?"
He pulled my collar and he fixed a deadly glare at me, "Do it again and my voice will be the last thing you will ever hear."
I smirked, "Mess up with my room again and it will be over for you."
"I'd like to see that." He challenged me.
"Just try me and you will see." My voice was deep and it was threatening.
Kieffer's POV-
That girl! I couldn't believe I got hit by the likes of her. I totally let my guard down.
"I'm starting to like her," Dwayne complimented.
"Yeah right. She's the first who has the nerve to hit Kieffer on the face." Mico was surpassing laughter.
"This is going to be fun." Dwayne laughed.
"She hit the wrong person." I clenched my jaw.
"What's next?" Mico asked.
With an evil smile, I answered, "Something more miserable."
We both laughed as I told them what will be our next step.
Alrisha'a POV -
After a couple of hours, we were finally done cleaning. Good thing that Francine did help us. But it's too bad that we were absent for the morning class just for this. My shoulders surely hurt.
I sighed and let my body drop to the floor. I was so tired and I couldn't move my body. My eyes were so warm and my eyelids were getting heavy. Probably I was about to pass out but my stomach suddenly growled.
"Cleaning too much can make me starve like this," I mumbled.
"I second the motion," Francine agreed.
"Want to grab something to bite?" Elaina suggested.
"I'm so tired of moving my body. I want to rest," Francine objected in a lifeless tone.
"Stay here and let your stomachs eat each other," I replied as I stood. Elaina also followed me and we walked to the door.
Elaina was about to open the door when Francine quickly stood and sprinted to our side.
"You two are so serious," Francine commented.
"It wasn't a joke, Francine," I replied.
Elaina opened the door and the three of us went outside. She closed and locked the door the moment we were outside. Then we started to walk to the cafeteria.
When we arrived, the cafeteria was almost full. Perhaps, it was already noon.
And thankfully, there's one table, at the right corner, that wasn't occupied. Good for 4 people.
"Let's take that table." Elaina pointed to the vacant table.
I nodded.
We went to the counter to order. 2 cups of rice, a fried chicken and orange juice for me, for Francine, she has 2 cups of rice and a fried chicken and only spaghetti for Elaina.
Few minutes after we ordered, the lady at the counter went back with our food on the tray. She handed each tray to us and we went to the vacant table that we saw earlier.
Disappointedly, Kieffer and his friends were sitting there when we arrived. Damn! Can this day get any worse?
"That's our place," I complained.
"Then why is this vacant?" Kieffer mocked.
"Of course we ordered food, genius," Elaina responded.
"First come, first serve, ladies. Don't make things harder," Dwayne stated.
"So you're expecting for us to sit first without anything to eat?" I protested.
"Don't be so stubborn. We came here to eat," Dwayne replied in a calm tone.
"Knock it off already, dude," Kieffer interrupted, "Lets just leave. I lost my appetite after seeing a bawdy girl here."
I glared at him and slammed my tray filled with food on the table, "You devil! What did you just call me?"
"Enough, man. Everyone is watching us," Jomaico interfered as he stood.
"No!" Kieffer snapped, "This chintzy brat must teach a lesson! So she would know her place!"
"Couldn't you show even a little respect, Kieffer?" Elaina joined. Her voice was low but annoyance was transparent in her tone.
"My bad, Elaina. I lose my respect every time I see the likes of her," he responded.
"I said enough, man," Jomaico snapped and left ahead of them.
Kieffer wanted to respond but he seemed to take it back. He just clenched his jaw and glared at me like he wanted to stab me. We exchanged deadly looks for a while and later he left. Dwayne followed him.
"Hey! Your mess!" I shouted.
"You're next to sit so take care of it," Dwayne replied without looking back.
"What a trouble," I snapped.
"Don't make it a big deal, okay? Let's just clean it," Francine stated.
So, while Suzy and Che-che are too busy cleaning the table, I just sit on the chair on the right side. But suddenly, lots of cold water poured down on my head, from somewhere. After, a fire extinguisher was opened and burst on my right ear and it went straight to my face.
I screamed so loud that it made the whole cafeteria move. My entire body was shaking. I could barely move my knees considering that it was shaking so bad.
The fire extinguisher wouldn't stop and the water continued to pour. And now I'm soaking wet.
I couldn't stop myself from screaming. Like I was a live pig being slaughtered. The coldness of the cold water is getting inside my skin and it was getting on my nerves. my heart was racing like it's going to jump off my chest at any time now.
I don't know what to do. My mind is panicking, I can't work it to think.
My knees suddenly lost their strength and I kneeled on the floor. I dropped my head with my hands on the back of my head.
Even though I'm under the table, the fire extinguisher still reached my face. .
I couldn't take it any longer. Maybe this might cause my death and I couldn't allow that. Never!
I covered my mouth using my right hand and hurriedly crawled out of the table.
When I was sure that I was far from that table, I removed my hand from my mouth and sat on the floor, gasping to breath.
My sweat was pouring down like an open faucet. I was catching my breath like I would run out of air. My heart was beating so fast. My lips were trembling and pale like a sheet of paper.
That was when I realized I was the center of attention. All eyes were on me and I could hear them gossiping.
Holy crap! This is embarrassing.
Francine and Elaina sprinted to my side and they guided me to stand. Thanks to them I could stand. If it was only me alone, I might tremble. My knees were badly trembling.
They examined me from head to toe. And I could see how worried they were.
"Are you alright? You're soaking wet," Francine was worried.
"I-I'm fine," Even my voice trembled.
"You're not," Elaina objected, "Your lips were pale like a sheet of paper."
"She's right," Francine added, "A nurse should at least check you."
"I'm fine. I just need a rest and I'll be okay," I insisted.
Francine and Elaina exchanged looks for a while and it seemed that they wanted to protest but someone's scream caught our attention.
"Guys, something happens at the girl's locker room!" The scream came from the entrance of the cafeteria.
"What now?" I whimpered.
Both of us turned to look at the entrance and we found Queenie. She looked so exhausted and terrified.
"What is going on?!" Francine yelled in annoyance.
"Something is happening at the girl's locker room," Queenie repeated under her breath.
"What is it?" Elaina's brows furrowed.
"You better see it for yourself," Queenie replied. Her voice was vague.
We had no choice but to go there and check it out. I hope it wasn't that worst.
Oh, sweet Jesus! Give me a peaceful break!
