Chapter 38 - Rewritten

The wind died first.

Not naturally—

like the world itself was holding its breath.

Smoke drifted lazily from the shattered building below, embers floating upward like dying stars. The Mega Fly was gone from sight, buried somewhere in the ruin it had created.

For a moment—

No one spoke.

Then—

Nobita's vision shattered.

The system forced itself open.

Not a gentle notification.

Not a pulse.

A full-screen override, burning white.

⚠ GLOBAL EVENT DETECTED ⚠

MISSILE LAUNCH CONFIRMED

PAYLOAD: ENHANCED C-VIRUS (EVOLVED STRAIN)

TIME REMAINING: 00:00:20

Nobita froze.

His breath caught in his throat.

His hands trembled.

"…No," he whispered.

Doraemon turned instantly. "Nobita? What happened?"

Nobita swallowed hard.

His voice came out hoarse.

"The missile…"

He looked up at the sky.

"…will gonna launch in twenty seconds."

The words detonated harder than any explosion.

Leon's head snapped toward him. "What?"

Helena stiffened. "That's impossible——"

Chris's voice blasted through the comm.

"Nobita, repeat that."

Nobita clenched his fists.

"…its too late...the missile is already primed in Automatic launch.."

Leon's eyes widened.

"…Chris."

Helena jaw dropped

"What can we do?? "

Chris didn't speak for a second.

Then, grim and controlled:

"All units—brace. If that thing launches…"

No one finished the sentence.

Far away—

Deep beneath the earth—

A mechanical hum began.

Low.

Ancient.

Unstoppable.

00:00:15

Somewhere beyond the city, massive blast doors opened.

Hydraulic pistons screamed.

A missile—black, armored, engraved with Umbrella insignias—rose slowly from its silo.

Inside it—

A payload that would rewrite humanity into extinction.

00:00:10

On the rooftop, the air grew heavy.

Shizuka swayed slightly.

"Nobita…" she murmured.

He turned. "Shizuka?"

Her hand pressed against her chest.

"…It hurts."

Gian rushed forward. "Shizuka—sit down!"

Her pupils dilated.

Her breathing quickened.

Dekisuki whispered, "…No."

Leon whisper "It... Can't be... "

Shizuka's fingers curled unnaturally.

Veins darkened beneath her skin.

She looked up at Nobita—

And her expression wasn't fear.

It was apology.

"…I'm sorry," she whispered.

Her body convulsed.

She collapsed to her knees.

A guttural sound escaped her throat.

Nobita's heart shattered.

"No—no—no—"

Her spine arched.

Her jaw clenched.

The virus—

the one she had been holding back—

was winning.

Doraemon's voice cracked. "Shizuka… please…"

00:00:05

The missile engines ignited.

A column of fire erupted from the silo.

The ground trembled.

The sky screamed.

Nobita stood perfectly still.

The world slowed.

Every sound dulled.

Every voice faded.

The system appeared again.

Silent.

Waiting.

One option pulsed brighter than all others.

REWRITE FATE

WARNING: IRREVERSIBLE CONSEQUENCES

Nobita looked at Shizuka.

At Doraemon.

At the city.

At the world.

He stepped forward.

"…I won't accept this ending."

He opened Rewrite Fate.

A single empty box appeared.

The cursor blinked.

Waiting.

Nobita typed.

Slowly.

Carefully.

Every word carved from his soul.

"THIS VIRUS SHALL NOT CREATE MONSTERS."

"ALL INFECTED SHALL RETURN TO HUMANITY."

"THE C-VIRUS SHALL HEAL—NOT DESTROY."

The box sealed.

The system screamed.

FATE ACCEPTED

GLOBAL CAUSALITY OVERRIDE — EXECUTING

The missile pierced the clouds.

Everyone watched.

Silent.

Helpless.

Then—

It exploded.

But not in fire.

Not in darkness.

Light.

Pure, blinding, gentle light.

Like sunrise.

A wave expanded outward—

Not burning.

Not killing.

Cleansing.

Across the city—

Zombies stopped.

Fell.

Stood back up.

Breathing.

Crying.

Human.

Across the world—

The dead returned.

The infected healed.

Wars stopped mid-battle.

Monsters collapsed into people.

On the rooftop—

Shizuka gasped.

Her body relaxed.

The black veins faded.

Her eyes cleared.

She collapsed forward—

Into Nobita's arms.

"Nobita…?" she whispered.

He held her tightly.

"…You're back."

Gian and suneo : REALLY???

Chris whispered through the comm, stunned.

"…Jesus Christ."

For one perfect moment—

Hope won.

Then—

A shadow rose.

The rooftop shook violently.

Concrete split.

A massive claw slammed onto the edge of the building.

The Mega Fly climbed back into view.

Torn.

Burned.

But alive.

In its chest—

Something moved.

The chitin peeled back.

And there—

Suspended in flesh—

Was Simmons.

Human.

Barely.

His eyes locked onto Nobita.

"…You stole my ending," Simmons hissed.

The building began to collapse.

Chris shouted, "Everyone—BOARD NOW!"

Leon grabbed an RPG tossed from the helicopter.

"Nobita—!"

Nobita placed a hand on Leon's shoulder.

White and black lightning surged.

Fusing.

Amplifying.

"Make it count."

Leon fired.

The RPG became a comet.

It struck the Mega Fly—

BOOOOOOM—!!!

The explosion tore half its body apart.

It explodrd like a nuclear bomb but in white and black, the surrounding building are breaking glasses

Still—

It didn't fall.

Nobita stepped back.

"…Get them in...i got this..."

Shizuka's voice broke first.

"Nobita… please…"

Her hands trembled as she reached out, fingers barely missing his sleeve.

"Come back. We can still find another way. You always find another way…"

Nobita didn't turn.

His shoulders rose and fell once.

"If I stop now…" he said quietly,

"then everything we did till now means nothing."

"Idiot!!" Gian shouted, tears streaming down his face.

"Since when did you start acting like some hero, huh?! You're weak! You're scared just like us! So stop pretending!"

Suneo swallowed hard, forcing a shaky laugh.

"Yeah… yeah… this isn't like you, Nobita. Heroes don't die like this. They survive. So… just survive, okay?"

His voice cracked at the last word.

Dekisugi adjusted his glasses with trembling fingers.

"Nobita…"

For once, he had no solution. No calculation.

"This probability… it's almost zero."

He clenched his fists.

"But… if anyone can break logic itself… it's you."

Doraemon floated forward, eyes wide, glossy.

"Nobita…"

His voice was small now. Not a machine. Not a guardian.

Just a friend.

"You don't have to carry this alone. I'm here. I always will be. So don't—don't leave me like this…"

Nobita finally looked back.

He smiled.

The same soft, awkward smile he always had.

"Doraemon… thank you."

He glanced at everyone.

"Take care of each other."

Leon stepped forward, gripping his gun so hard his knuckles turned white.

"I've seen soldiers throw their lives away," he said grimly.

"This isn't that."

He met Nobita's eyes.

"This is a choice. And I respect it."

Helena shook her head slowly.

"You shouldn't have to be this brave," she whispered.

"No kid should."

Nobita stepped back "I say again …Get them in… I got this…"

"Nobita—NO!" Doraemon cried.

"No… don't do this!" Shizuka yelled.

But he was already moving.

He ran.

Jumped.

Straight into the Mega Fly's chest.

Passed through flesh.

Through bone.

Through fire.

He grabbed Simmons by the throat.

The Mega Fly screamed—

Then disintegrated.

Flesh unraveled.

Wings tore away.

The monster collapsed into nothing.

Nobita and Simmons fell.

Together.

The wind screamed.

Below—

A smaller building.

And at its peak—

A massive steel needle.

Pointed straight up.

Nobita's grip tightened.

Simmons laughed weakly.

"…Guess we'll see how this ends."

They fell.

And the world went silent.
