Chapter 4 - Felix

After the handsome angel's strange speech, the young man walked through the large doors alongside the legion of young men and women—all of whom were as equally curious as the kind young man to discover what their future held beyond the ivory Hive.

What first hit the young man was the sheer size of the hall that enveloped him—colossal, ivory walls stretched on for what seemed like miles with alabaster pillars supporting the ceiling of the grand hall, each pillar standing with an unbreakable will to serve their purpose.

The young man could only stare at the colossal hall with awe, before realizing his mouth was hanging open yet again, with an embarrassed cough, he cleared his throat and glanced around at the other angels surrounding him, feeling a little better that they too had their mouths agape with awe.

'That would have been embarrassing…'

With a huff of relief, the young man continued to walk down the great hall—nothing but the rhythmic pat of bare feet slapping against the marble floor filling the silence that hung in the air.

After some time, the legion finally reached the end of the never-ending hall, finding a young woman with brown hair seated at a wide marble table while holding a thick scroll, with a small frown, she gestured at a thin red carpet that lay ahead of her, silently ordering them to get in a line.

By pure coincidence, the young man found himself at the very back of the line, with a small frown, he thought.

'How have I gotten all the way back here… I'm going to be here for hours!'

Even if he felt frustrated, he knew that he couldn't of done anything about it, so, with a small groan, he feigned patience as the line slowly grew smaller, watching as the angels who had received their names walk towards a golden door on the right, glancing at the underside of their wrist for some reason.

As the next angel was given a name and sent off, the young woman looked up from her scroll to see a frail looking angel with blonde hair and emerald eyes, giving her a sheepish grin. She let out a deep sigh, shaking her head as she glanced down at the scroll, her eyes widening slightly in surprise, before looking back at the young man with a small smirk.

"Lucky you… You have been bestowed the name of Felix."

She paused for a moment, before sighing deeply.

"…And you're in regiment 13. Good luck."

And with that, she brushed him off with a lazy wave of the hand.

Felix's eyes slowly widened at the sound of his new name, testing the sound on his lips.

"…Felix…my name is Felix…"

As he gave her a polite nod and walked towards the golden door to the side, he felt something inside of him churn, as if his very being was somehow altered and woven anew, the feeling dying down just as quickly as it came as he felt a sudden tingle at his wrist. Glancing down curiously, his eyes widened in shock as small words began to accumulate on the underside of his wrist, reading:

Name: Felix

Rank: Angel

Regiment: 101

Virtue: Kindness

Quality: UNKNOWN
