Lore Chapter 0.02: The Kings of the Abyss

Source: The Apocrypha of Shadows (Burned Edition)

Topic: The Origin of the Seven Calamities

Timeline: The Age of Separation (Pre-History)

Before they were Sins, they were Monarchs.

When the world was whole (Pangea Aeterna), there were seven great Human Kings who ruled the outer edges of the continent. They were powerful, wise, and ambitious. But the "Demonic Influence" leaking from the tear in reality did not destroy them; it corrupted their greatest virtues.

Mammon (Greed): Once the King of Commerce, he wanted his people to never know poverty. The corruption twisted this into an insatiable need to hoard. His skin turned to gold, and his blood to liquid mercury. He folded his kingdom into a dimension of infinite vaults.

Beelzebub (Gluttony): Once the King of Harvest (Alaric's Ancestor), he wanted to end famine. The corruption turned his hunger into a void. His kingdom became a living stomach.

Belphegor (Sloth): Once the King of Peace, he wanted to end all war. The corruption convinced him that the only true peace is eternal sleep. His kingdom is a land of poisonous fog where no one wakes up.

Lucifer (Pride): Once the King of Stars, he wanted humanity to rival the Gods. The corruption turned his ambition into arrogance. He fell, taking his floating cities into the magma of the underworld.

Asmodeus (Lust): Once the King of Love and Arts. The corruption turned passion into obsession and perversion.

Leviathan (Envy): Once the Queen of the Oceans, she wanted equality for all. The corruption made her despise anyone who had more than her. She dragged her islands beneath the waves.

Satan (Wrath): Once the King of Justice. The corruption turned his desire for order into a blind, burning rage against all existence.

These seven entities are not dead. They are Sealed. They sit on their thrones in the Hidden Continents, waiting for the Warden to fail. They whisper to those with weak hearts, offering power in exchange for breaking the seals.

The Pandora Chests found in dungeons are merely leaking fragments of their power—small gifts they push through the cracks to tempt humanity
