Chapter 95: Silas Appears
"Actually, I think there's a very simple way to determine who the real Thor is. Whoever can lift Mjölnir is the God of Thunder," Sif said after some thought.
Good Thor's eyes immediately lit up. He raised the hammer and said, "I can lift the hammer."
Then, everyone's gaze shifted to Evil Thor.
"I refuse," Evil Thor knew he absolutely could not lift Mjölnir right now; the hammer was bound by Odin's enchantment. Only a noble heart could wield the hammer, unless his current power was stronger than Odin's.
No sooner had Evil Thor spoken than everyone assumed a combat stance against him. A God of Thunder who couldn't lift Mjölnir? Who would believe that?
"Wait, everyone, even though he can't lift the hammer, he is truly Thor, just like me." Good Thor noticed the situation was turning sour and immediately stood in front of Evil Thor to defend him.
Evil Thor ungraciously pushed Good Thor away, patted his chest, and said, "I just don't want to pick up Mjölnir. If you're unhappy, let's fight."
Everyone took a collective step back—a very intelligent decision.
"Hmph!" Evil Thor was pleased with their reaction. This was the might of the God of Thunder.
"Now, I think the main issue is, why hasn't the Bifrost opened yet?" Sif diverted the topic.
Evil Thor scoffed, "What happened before you came to Midgard?"
"It's like this..." Sif recounted everything that had happened in Asgard.
"This is definitely Loki's doing," Evil Thor said, folding his arms. "Loki must have tangled up Heimdall."
"Impossible. Loki is our brother," Good Thor said, unconvinced. He firmly believed Loki would never treat them this way; any decision he made must have been under duress.
"Tch~" Evil Thor scoffed. "Him? A piece of garbage greedy for the throne, who only knows how to use such underhanded tactics."
"I forbid you from speaking about Loki like that, even if you are me," Good Thor said, getting angry. Loki was so good to him; how could he possibly betray them?
Evil Thor gave a hollow laugh. "I truly don't understand why the old me was so stupid."
"Well done, Thor. I told you a long time ago that Loki was no good, but you kept warning me not to speak ill of him." Fandral completely agreed with Evil Thor's view. This was the right attitude; don't let Loki sell you out and then make you help him count the money.
"I like that saying," Evil Thor nodded.
The exchange between the two Thors made Good Thor turn away in anger, refusing to engage with them further.
"So now we just have to wait for Heimdall's response, right?" Volstagg, who had inexplicably produced a bag of potato chips, was munching away.
"Do you have any other way to get back?" Hogun said resignedly. They only knew how to return to Asgard via the Bifrost; they truly didn't know any other way.
Evil Thor was so angry that lightning flashed across his body, signifying his rapidly rising fury.
"Don't be angry, Thor. Trust Heimdall," Sif said, patting Thor's shoulder. Clearly, this Thor was the more charismatic one.
On the other side, Jane was comforting Good Thor. "Don't sulk, Thor. You are the God of Thunder."
"Even the God of Thunder has normal human emotions. They shouldn't talk about my Loki like that," Good Thor said.
Jane smiled. "To be honest, I've only seen Loki mentioned in books, where he's called the God of Mischief and Lies. What is he like in reality?"
"Loki? Yes, he does like a bit of mischief and lying, but he's just a bit childish. In reality, he's very well-behaved and especially loves me, his older brother." Good Thor couldn't help but smile when he talked about Loki.
"I can tell you really like this Loki," Jane said. She hadn't realized Thor was so fond of Loki.
Evil Thor overheard their conversation and interjected, "Jane, don't talk to him. He's a coward."
"I am not a coward!" Good Thor retorted. He simply disliked conflict, but he wasn't afraid to fight.
Meanwhile, on a nearby rooftop, Silas reclined on the balcony edge, watching the two Thors argue. The scene was truly entertaining. He had arrived here during their fight but chose not to intervene yet, finding it quite amusing.
"Given the time, Heimdall should be close to breaking free of the ice and opening the Bifrost for Thor and the others." Silas knew he had to step in soon to merge Thor back together. If they brought two Thors back to Odin, the outcome would be unthinkable. Especially for Loki, that would be double the pleasure.
Little Black appeared next to Silas. "Master, what about the white tiger? It's still locked up in the Shadow Realm." Any decisions that needed to be made had to be left to his master, Silas.
"Hmm... leave it for now. Keep it in the Shadow Realm for observation, and let's see how the Black Chi transforms it," Silas instructed. The Black Chi in the Shadow Realm would infect any creature. The time it took depended on the creature's constitution; the stronger the constitution, the longer it resisted. An infant, for example, would become part of the Shadow Realm's creatures in less than half a minute after being placed inside.
Little Black nodded. He would leave the white tiger there and would even prepare some food and water for it, just in case it starved.
Rumble!
Good Thor and Evil Thor started fighting again, with Evil Thor making the first move, as usual.
"Time for me to make my grand entrance," Silas said, standing up and leaping off the building.
Thud!
Silas landed steadily behind the group. Hearing the commotion, the Warriors Three and Sif immediately turned and saw Silas.
"Who are you!" Sif asked, holding her spear warily. For some reason, Silas's presence made them feel threatened.
"Just an ordinary person passing by," Silas said, walking toward them.
"No matter who you are, please stop moving right now!" Fandral's threat was very clear.
Silas smiled faintly. He was genuinely curious to see how capable the Warriors Three and Sif truly were.
"Are all you Midgardians this arrogant?" Sif asked Jane. She found Silas's attire vaguely familiar but couldn't place it immediately.
"It's the Man in Black! Wow, he's so cool," Daisy exclaimed excitedly beside Jane.
Silas's fame was considerable now, with major newspapers and media outlets reporting about him. However, people were confused by the two Men in Black. They only knew that the one wearing the Tara mask was a wicked supervillain, while the one wearing the Mingta mask was a righteous superhero. They didn't know that the supervillain and the superhero were the same person.
