Cherreads

Chapter 224 - Chapter 224, like a withered, dark red flower frozen in time.

Yin Xiu swung his sword, and the giant spider lily transformed into a small prop that floated in the air.

The monsters nearby cheered and shouted, "Well done! As expected of Yin Xiu! He was decisive in his attack!"

"He's just a player who's sided with the monsters anyway, might as well kill him!"

"Yeah, he was a traitor to you players too! Good riddance!"

Facing the cheering monster with a fawning expression, Yin Xiu smiled coldly, "What are you yelling about? Just because he's dead, does that mean you can live?"

The smiles on the faces of the monsters froze instantly, and the atmosphere suddenly became eerie.

They stared intently at Yin Xiu's unsheathed knife, a familiar sense of dread welling up within them.

The next second, all the monsters began to run for their lives, rushing outwards. There were so many monsters, and only Yin Xiu. As long as they ran fast enough, there would be some that managed to escape back home!

How many of these high-level dungeon bosses will survive depends entirely on their escape speed!

Yin Xiu unleashed a single strike, plunging the scene into chaos. Eerie cries and howls filled the air, figures raced back and forth amidst the flashing blades and clashing swords—the scene was utterly chaotic.

After the chase lasted for half an hour, the surroundings finally quieted down. Many of the monsters managed to escape, but quite a few were also executed on the spot.

Yin Xiu wiped his sword with his cloak as he walked back, and was just about to sheathe it when he encountered a familiar face at the mouth of the large ship.

"You came alone this time?" The mayor stood there with a smile, his stitches covering his body not preventing him from flirting with Yin Xiu. "I told you that mysterious figure who was with you before was unreliable. He probably attacked you and was killed by you, right?"

He slowly approached Yin Xiu, a confident smile on his face.

No sooner had the mayor finished speaking than a small tentacle suddenly sprouted from the collar of Yin Xiu's cloak, its eye staring directly at the mayor, pure and innocent.

It didn't attack its boyfriend, okay! Let it come out and see who's talking bad about it!

The mayor met the little tentacle's eyes and paused for a moment, "Is this your new pet?"

"No." Yin Xiu calmly grabbed the small tentacle, pulled it out, and threw it on the ground. Watching the tentacle quickly entwine into a human shape in the air, he calmly said to the mayor, "This is my boyfriend."

Under the mayor's astonished gaze, the black tentacles twisted into a familiar face—a sinister, eerie face that he feared.

"Long time no see." Li Mo smiled as she gazed at the other person, a chilling glint in her eyes. "You want to turn my boyfriend into a portrait again?"

The mayor slowly took a step back, his brows furrowing. "You've already progressed to this point?"

This is nothing like what he imagined! He was absolutely certain that this monster would attack Yin Xiu and then be cut in two by Yin Xiu! How did they end up having such an intimate relationship?!

When asked by the town mayor, Yin Xiu did not respond. If he could use this relationship to put an end to this troublesome and strange thought, that would be good. He couldn't keep killing the other party every time they came, until they didn't want to come near him anymore, could he? That would be too troublesome.

Yin Xiu didn't respond, but Li Mo straightened her back confidently, "Yes, my boyfriend!"

The mayor's expression was complicated, and Yin Xiu didn't pay him much attention. What did it matter what a monster thought? He simply walked past the two of them and went back to the main hall to get the props. Let the two of them talk whatever they wanted outside.

When he returned to the lobby, the prop was still floating in a pool of blood filled with grotesque corpses. Yin Xiu picked up his knife, walked over, and took the prop.

The notification sounded the moment the item was touched.

Yin Xiu stared at the flower, put it away, picked up his knife, and prepared to leave the dungeon. As soon as he turned around, he saw a strange, eerie creature sitting in a corner of the hall.

It was a man with long white hair, wearing a thin, bluish-gray Chinese-style long gown, sitting on a chair in the corner. He leaned against the back of the chair, staring at Yin Xiu without making a sound or movement, as if he didn't exist there.

Seeing Yin Xiu looking over, he smiled and nodded. He didn't exude any threat; on the contrary, he was very gentle and didn't seem like a monster.

Yin Xiu glanced at him, ignored him, and turned to leave. Just then, the man's voice drifted down from behind, "Have you seen Xiao Si?"

Yin Xiu stopped and looked at him.

The man's gray eyes were dull and lifeless. "A little boy with injuries."

"I saw it." Yin Xiu nodded. "I killed it."

The man wasn't too surprised; he simply stood up, holding onto the back of the chair. Only then did Yin Xiu notice a dirty bloodstain on his chest, where his heart was, like a withered, dark red flower frozen in place.

"So he really is dead… The fear I felt back then was real…" The man paused for two seconds, then groped his way to his feet and walked towards Yin Xiu.

Yin Xiu calmly observed his behavior, and after looking him over, he realized that this strange creature was blind and could not see anything.

"Are you trying to avenge him by killing me?" Yin Xiu gripped the knife he hadn't yet sheathed. He had already killed so many people; he wouldn't mind killing one more.

"Ah...no, don't worry, I'm not here for revenge." The man stopped and smiled slightly at Yin Xiu. "His death was the extreme path he chose himself. There's no need for revenge. I'm just here to get my heart back from you."

Yin Xiu suppressed his murderous intent and realized who the strange person in front of him was. "You are Mu He?"

"Hmm." The man nodded slightly, his long white hair falling in strands over his shoulders, making him look completely different from the usual eerie people. "My name is Mu He, and I am an eerie person."

Yin Xiu didn't react much. "Your heart isn't with me; it's with a player named Zhong Mu."

"Really?" Mu He's shoulders slumped slightly, her gray pupils unfocused. "I thought I'd be here with you."

"If you have the ability, go ask Zhong Mu for it yourself." Yin Xiu said this indifferently and turned to leave, but as soon as he turned his head, Mu He tugged at the corner of his clothes.

He wore a harmless smile and said gently, "Don't rush off, I have something to tell you."

Yin Xiu tugged at the hem of her clothes with a cold expression. "My boyfriend is still waiting for me outside. I don't have time."

A slight smile appeared in Mu He's gray eyes. "These are words Ye Tianxuan left for you a long time ago. Aren't you going to listen?"

Yin Xiu paused for two seconds, then pulled over a chair and sat down.
