Yin Xiu almost instantly thought of this rule for classifying mental illnesses.
He was prepared, but he never expected that things would be connected in this way. Through the stimulation of hallucinations, he harmed other players in the dungeon. This is what a mentally ill person looks like to normal players.
Yin Xiu let out a long sigh of relief, his emotions gradually calming down. He dropped the scalpel in his hand, wiped away the blood, and remained calm in the face of the horrified stares of the other players.
"Brother Xiu, what's going on..." Zhong Mu, who came out after hearing the sound, was also a little stunned. Everyone was sleeping when they suddenly heard a scream, and then everyone woke up and saw this scene in the corridor.
The player on the ground was still groaning and clutching his teeth. He seemed to be one of the players Yin Xiu had brought to the clinic during the day. Was this a deliberate act of revenge?
Zhong Mu didn't quite understand, but he could tell that Yin Xiu's condition was a bit off.
The players' cries of agony also attracted the attention of the staff, who, upon seeing Yin Xiu, showed expressions of panic. "He's a patient with level three symptoms! We must restrain him immediately!"
"Quick! It's not too late to administer the medicine! We need to suppress his symptoms as soon as possible!" A group of people in white coats who suddenly appeared hurriedly surrounded Yin Xiu to prevent him from escaping.
Yin Xiu recalled how the level 3 symptoms were treated.
— Handcuffs and bite arrestors are required to ensure the patient will not harm others during treatment and medication is administered by force.
He didn't expect to have to be handcuffed even after leaving Paradise City. Everything else was fine, but the forced infusion of the drug was unacceptable. Even if it was administered via IV, he couldn't touch the drug.
Let's go straight to Level 4!
Faced with the swarming staff, Yin Xiu ruthlessly pulled out his knife.
Almost instantly, the scene before his eyes changed again, as if light and shadow were constantly flowing. Many people flashed by in front of him. He saw himself standing at the door being reprimanded by the dean for pulling the child's tooth. He saw the child's vicious gaze peering out of the window.
He thought that after this incident, things would calm down at the orphanage, and no one would dare to bully him and his poor sister anymore.
Little did they know that this would be the beginning of disaster.
He simply wanted a sense of belonging with his sister, and just wanted to live an ordinary life. He didn't crave an excessively wealthy life, nor did he pray that some kind person would take them in.
Yin Xiu's only wish was for his younger sister to be by his side.
But the orphanage robbed Yin Xiu of his spiritual support.
He worked for the orphanage as before, keeping it running. Other older children would also go, but no one worked harder than him, hoping the orphanage could continue to operate.
Before leaving, he saw the director standing at the door talking to Xiaoxiao. In his soft voice, it seemed that there was a job that would be very suitable for his sister, and it would only take one day.
Xiaoxiao's eyes sparkled. "Can I help everyone too?"
Yin Xiu was somewhat worried, but there was no time left to find work.
He turned around and saw Xiaoxiao waving at him.
That innocent face wore a harmless smile, always embracing the world with the best attitude.
Yin Xiu then left with peace of mind.
"I can't remember... I can't remember..."
In the hospital corridor, surrounded by layers of people, Yin Xiu's pupils were unfocused and his gaze was blank. Even if he had just had a moment of clarity, he immediately began to go crazy again. He was muttering something under his breath, sounding somewhat broken, but no one could understand him.
The players were frightened and backed away. The staff also stepped forward hesitantly, carrying bite stoppers and handcuffs. They were even wearing restraint suits out of fear.
Even though Yin Xiu was just standing there muttering in his sleep, they didn't dare to approach him.
"I can't... I can't remember... I can't..." Yin Xiu frowned, his voice trembling slightly. He was trying to recover his memories, but his whole body was resisting them.
As before, he returned exhausted from work, his steps heavy as he prepared to go back to the orphanage, his hands and feet feeling very heavy.
Just thinking about his sister waiting for him there, and how he would soon see her warm, smiling face, made his weariness lessen.
Whenever he sees his sister, he has the hope to keep trying and keep living.
Standing outside the dilapidated orphanage wall, he didn't see that familiar little figure waiting for him. He thought to himself, "She went out today too, maybe she's just coming back a little late."
Yin Xiu turned around and entered the orphanage, only to hear crying coming from inside.
The older sister who often taught them to read and write was breaking down in tears, shouting angrily, "So many children are going out to work! How could you have such a heartless child to let such a young child go! You knew it was a dangerous job, yet you still let her go!"
"It's just that we've been a bit short on cash lately..." the director's voice sounded somewhat guilty. "There are so many children who need money, if we don't earn some, where will they get the money to eat?"
"Do you have any conscience at all? If you didn't take in so many children to do charity, you could still make a living. You can't even afford to raise them all, yet you keep bringing children back from outside. Are you doing this out of kindness? You're clearly using these children to make money! Now that those people are ignoring you, is this how you treat these children?" The woman cursed, her voice filled with anger.
Normally she would never dare to speak to the dean like this, but today the dean sounded a little guilty. "How was I supposed to know it was such a dangerous experiment? They just said they needed younger children, that there might be some danger, but the compensation was high, and we have money now!"
A series of sounds of pots and pans being smashed came from inside the room. The woman was tearing at the dean's collar and began to fight with him.
"Crazy woman! So what if a child died? Anyway, no one will adopt him! He's dead, so what!" The director cursed and slammed the door as he left the yard, where he met Yin Xiu's gaze.
The woman came out crying and was taken aback when she saw Yin Xiu.
The atmosphere in the courtyard suddenly became stiff. Yin Xiu silently looked at the two people in front of him, glancing at the window next to him out of the corner of his eye, and saw the child who had his tooth pulled laughing inside.
He paused for a moment, then asked calmly, "Has Xiaoxiao not returned yet?"
The dean didn't speak, but turned his head away and looked at Yin Xiu with some apprehension.
The woman wiped away her tears, somewhat at a loss. With red eyes, she beckoned to Yin Xiu, "Come in first, I'll tell you slowly."
Yin Xiu stood still, staring intently at her. "I'll wait for Xiaoxiao to come back before I go in."
His stubborn figure stood in the small courtyard, covered in dirt and looking exhausted, like someone on the verge of collapse, in need of redemption.
The woman couldn't stop crying. Seeing that Yin Xiu wouldn't move, she choked out, pointing inside, "Xiaoxiao is inside."
"Go in and see for yourself."
