Chapter 313 - Chapter 313 This contrast is so...so appealing!

"Of course!" Zhong Mu seized the opportunity to boost morale and spread hope among the crowd.

"I just came back from the town because the monsters that appeared this time were actually targeting the players in the town. Those things were actually there to help us!"

"There are no completely deadly dungeons, only players who don't try hard enough. I want to live, and you all probably want to live too, right?"

Despite his fragile appearance, Zhong Mu spoke words full of vitality, which boosted everyone's confidence and inspired them.

Then, Zhong Mu calmly took out a small wooden figure from his pocket and held it up. "This is a token I got from the monsters that appeared today. Burn this little wooden figure, and mourn for two seconds in front of the fire, and they won't attack us."

"Those who witness the burning flames will be imbued with a special scent, making them immune to attacks from other monsters."

As soon as Zhong Mu said this, the other players' eyes lit up with excitement. "I'll light the fire!"

"I'll prepare the place!"

"Everyone line up, and please remember to observe a moment of silence in a moment. Don't rush."

Amidst the excited and expectant voices, a dissenting voice suddenly arose. Several people in the corner questioned Zhong Mu's words, "Our captain went out with you, but you came back alone, bringing back some strange props without any evidence. Isn't that a bit outrageous?"

As expected, Zhong Mu anticipated that among so many people, there would always be those who disagreed with his questioning.

He simply looked back calmly and said, "Then how can you prove that I'm lying?"

"The people here are the dungeon players; we are one. What benefit would I gain from deceiving you?"

The person who had just questioned him didn't reply, but just stared at Zhong Mu and looked him up and down. "I have serious doubts about your identity. You don't look like a real person."

He probably didn't suspect that Zhong Mu was a player from the small town, but rather that Zhong Mu was a weirdo. After all, a man with long white hair does have a slightly inhuman feel to him. Who in a dungeon would dye their hair white and keep it so long for no reason? Although it looks good, it's inexplicably strange.

Rather than looking like a player emerging from a crowd, he looked more like a non-human being emerging from a snow-capped mountain.

Zhong Mu stared at the player for a few seconds and decided to start with a softer approach.

He first lowered his eyes, looking dejected, and his voice softened, "My hair has always been like this. I even went to see a doctor before I entered the dungeon; it's a genetic defect..."

The person opposite scoffed, "It doesn't seem like something as simple as a genetic defect. It doesn't even look like a human being."

Zhong Mu looked up, feigning anger. "You question my appearance because you think I don't look like a gamer, so you doubt me. Are you discriminating against people with genetic defects like me? Just because my hair color is a little different, does that mean I can't be trusted?"

He tried to squeeze out two tears, but they didn't come out. Instead, his eyes reddened a little. Then he looked at the people around him and asked, "Just because my hair color is different, are you going to ostracize me and doubt me?"

Those around quickly tried to smooth things over, saying, "No, no, we're not as narrow-minded as him. We don't mind."

The person on the other end wasn't buying it and got impatient. "I don't care what you are like, but you're very suspicious. Now that the captain is gone, and you've shown up with strange props, we can't trust you easily. You must hand over the props you have, and we'll decide what to do next."

Zhong Mu's eyes darkened. So this was what they were waiting for. They wanted to take advantage of the chaos to suppress Zhong Mu and seize leadership.

Zhong Mu retorted, "I have the props I obtained, and I am quite familiar with the current situation in the town. You doubt me and want to use me. What kind of logic is that?"

"If you don't trust me, then leave on your own and don't join my operation. I don't want anyone to disrupt our operation tomorrow."

Every word Zhong Mu uttered hinted that he would be the leader of the entire team from now on, due to his control over information. However, the people opposite him were clearly unhappy, staring at Zhong Mu as they slowly drew their weapons.

"You think you can lead us, someone as weak and frail as you? You want to lead us to our deaths? Hand over the props!"

Someone nearby wanted to say a few words in Zhong Mu's defense, but Zhong Mu raised his hand to stop them.

He stared intently at the person opposite him, his demeanor and gaze changing instantly.

Now is the perfect time to establish authority. One must not be protected by others, nor should one leave solutions to others. Only by independently suppressing the other side can one demonstrate the qualities of a leader.

Since the other party had pulled out a weapon, Zhong Mu decided not to hold back.

He can pretend to be weak while acting like a doctor, but when it comes to solving problems, he still has to use his little axe.

While staring at the other party, Zhong Mu took out his handy axe from his prop pocket and fearlessly returned the gesture. With the axe in hand, his aura changed instantly, and he no longer had the weak and frail appearance he had before.

"Heh, so you want to fight me?" Although the other party had a moment of doubt, he did not take Zhong Mu seriously. What strength could such a seemingly weak person have?

It was that kind of mentality of looking down on him based on his appearance. Even when he saw Zhong Mu take out a weapon, he didn't have the slightest thought of killing him, thinking that he could suppress him with a move.

But Zhong Mu smiled as he gripped the axe, his killing intent palpable, intending to intimidate everyone; one strike would suffice.

"Come on then! I want to see what you've got up your sleeve." The person on the other end was still laughing and taunting, his tone high-pitched, "Come on then!"

Those around him were uneasy and wanted to speak up to stop the farce, but before they could utter a sound, the moment the provocative person finished speaking, Zhong Mu suddenly swung his axe and rushed over.

The white figure's killing intent was decisive and sharp, without the slightest hesitation. Like a drawn sword, it flashed past and fiercely chopped off the person's head.

The horrifying scene of blood splattering everywhere is chilling, but the person wielding the axe is a white-haired man who looks incredibly gentle. This stark contrast leaves people bewildered and confused.

He drew his axe, swung it down, and then deftly withdrew it.

Zhong Mu's hands trembled slightly only the first time he faced a player with an axe, fearing that he would be killed by the player if he failed to kill him. But every time he picked up the axe afterward, he refused with absolute decisiveness.

There's no need to worry so much. As long as you act ruthlessly and quickly enough, giving your opponent no chance to breathe, there won't be any counterattack from them. So what's there to worry about?

He turned his back, not looking at the man he had cut in two with his axe, because he was afraid that the incomplete human form would make him uneasy. So he turned his back and pretended to be a master at wiping his axe, doing it in one smooth motion without any flaws.

Instead, the surrounding area fell silent; everyone was startled.

No one even screamed because of that person's death; everyone was more shocked by Zhong Mu's actions.

This seemingly humble, polite, and gentle man, with his incredibly soft features and seemingly harmless appearance, could cause blood to splatter everywhere with a single move.

Not knowing what to say, the hearts of those around me were pounding.

This contrast is so...so appealing!
