When we first entered the area towards the City of Fallen Souls, everyone was covered in limbs and was frantically grabbing weapons and demanding other people's limbs.
There are more people who are relatively intact near the main city, but those who are physically intact all have a clear sense of dislocation.
A beautiful dark face, but arms with very obvious white skin splitting apart, legs with skin color clearly from someone else, and even some subtle eyes that don't belong to the same person on the face.
But strangely enough, each individual part of this cobbled-together person is remarkably beautiful.
A beautiful face, paired with lovely eyes, long and strong arms, must have delicate and flawless fingers, and the same goes for legs.
These complete individuals are like perfect parts of the entire city put together and walk around the streets as if on display, even showing off to others which part of their body they are most satisfied with.
Zhong Mu stood in the middle of the road, looking at the chaotic crowd on both sides, and fell silent. He realized he had underestimated this city.
"Hey! Bro! Your arms are pretty good!" Someone suddenly called out to Zhong Mu from a shop on the street, then waved happily, "Bro, are you selling your hands? I can offer a high price."
Zhong Mu ignored the person and walked past the shop with a dark face. He glanced at the shop with his peripheral vision, and quickly looked away after seeing what was inside, breaking out in a cold sweat.
The store was filled with things that looked almost like a slaughterhouse, with all sorts of arms, legs, and even heads displayed in the window, making Zhong Mu's heart pound at first glance.
Is this the environment of this city? Do limbs really circulate?
Zhong Mu gritted his teeth, buried his head, and refused to look at the shops on both sides of the street anymore. But every now and then, someone would ask if he sold limbs, and some people even ran over to ask, only to be chased away fiercely by him with his axe.
Finally, Zhong Mu stopped in front of a shop filled with human figures. But this shop was different from the others that had prices displayed. Instead of parts, it displayed complete human figures. The shop sign clearly read: "Lifefall City Limb Exhibition Hall".
In other words, it's not for sale here, it's just for display.
Most people in this city are only interested in things that have limbs; they go in and out of shops that sell them, but they have no interest in shops that merely display them. So only Zhong Mu is standing here.
Zhong Mu sensed that the doctor's legs were inside, and there were two parts inside that belonged to the doctor. The doctor's legs were among those complete humanoid figures.
But...didn't the doctor say that it was a person without legs who begged him to lend them the legs to walk? Why are the doctor's legs in this exhibition hall in the end?
As he stood at the door in a daze, someone suddenly peeked out from inside and said with a smile, "Want to come in and take a look? The limbs in my room are the most beautiful and perfect in the whole city. You won't find them anywhere else."
It was a man with intact limbs, dressed in a black tuxedo and looking very polite. He was wrapped up tightly from head to toe, so the stitches were visible.
He strode over to Zhong Mu, smiled, and gestured for him to come closer, adding a compliment, "Young man, your physique is quite impressive. It must be difficult to put together such a well-fitting outfit. You have excellent taste."
Zhong Mu remained expressionless in the face of his praise, and walked straight into the store, ignoring all the human figures on both sides, and went straight to the counter at the very back.
This is an exhibition hall where all the limbs have been installed on the bodies of different types of mannequins, matching their skin tone, height, and leg length, making all the limbs look harmonious, but there are still clear stitching lines.
Zhong Mu stared intently at the legs on the mannequin in front of him. The pale, evenly long legs were placed on a tall mannequin. The white toes lightly touched the red silk beneath their feet, and a red rope hung around their ankles. They were exquisite and beautiful, just like a sculpted work of art.
Seeing Zhong Mu staring intently at this, the person next to him quickly smiled and introduced, "You have a good eye! This is a pair of legs I recently acquired. They are very, very beautiful, not only visually appealing but also very soft to the touch. It's just that the cutting was a bit rough, and the cut is a little broken, but it looks very nice after being stitched up."
Zhong Mu turned to look at him expressionlessly, "Where did you come from?"
The shop owner quickly smiled and said, "The original owner of these legs came from another city. They are a rare treasure. It's just a pity that I haven't been able to obtain his other limbs yet."
"Ah... if only I could have his head." The shopkeeper sighed, his gaze becoming fascinated as he recalled the man. "It was such a beautiful head, it's just a pity his eyes were bad. If I could get that head and give him a pair of eyes, it would be perfect."
Zhong Mu frowned. "Would the other party willingly give you their leg?"
"Of course... that's impossible. Everything in my shop is hard-earned." The shopkeeper smiled mysteriously. "Sometimes, if a sale doesn't go through but you really want it, you have to use other means to get it."
Zhong Mu silently tightened his grip on the axe in his hand. "For example?"
"That's hard to say, you don't need to know the source. When you come into my shop, you don't need to think too much, just appreciate it." The shop owner was still oblivious to Zhong Mu's slightly gloomy expression and continued to show off to him, "I have many other collectibles in my shop, you can take a look."
"If you like these legs, you can come back in a couple of days. By then, I'll have definitely gotten the head, and maybe even the whole body."
"You have no idea, natural beauty is the best. It's perfect in every way except for the eyes."
The shop owner was still savoring the moment, gazing at the legs on the model and sighing, "Original limbs are still more suitable. This model doesn't even deserve these legs. I just need to get his limbs one by one and then add a pair of eyes."
Seeing the shop owner still contemplating taking the doctor's limbs, Zhong Mu understood.
This is the same person who asked to borrow the doctor's legs and promised to return them. He lied to the doctor, saying that he didn't have legs and therefore couldn't walk, which was just a fabricated excuse because the doctor couldn't see. After taking the doctor's legs, the doctor wanted the doctor's whole body. When the doctor refused, the doctor had someone forcibly cut off the doctor's hands and wanted his head even more.
The doctor's ordeal was all orchestrated by the person in front of him, a perverted body collector.
He had collected all these limbs in the room without knowing how, and he was still proudly showing them off to Zhong Mu.
"I really like these legs." Listening to the shop owner's rambling, Zhong Mu silently tightened his grip on the axe, his gaze slowly falling on the mannequin next to him.
"Right! I saw it by accident too. It's my luck that the original owner was so easy to fool. I got such a perfect body part so easily." The shop owner was delighted and was about to praise Zhong Mu for his good eye when he saw the person in front of him suddenly raise an axe and chop at the mannequin.
"What are you doing?!" The shop owner rushed forward in a panic to stop him.
But as soon as he arrived, Zhong Mu, who was holding an axe, swung it backhand and chopped at the shop owner.
