Chapter 425 - Chapter 425 I will call back the gods for you.

The high priest's pale and weak smile made Zhong Mu clench his fists silently.

He must try his best, to tentatively attempt to save someone who is completely unrelated to him, and he must succeed.

This is a hurdle, but once he overcomes it, he will step onto a new level and become stronger than he is now, both mentally and physically.

"Yes," Zhong Mu murmured. "I will let you see the most beautiful sun outside of the City of Destiny."

The high priest nodded silently. As she gradually relaxed, her body became heavy and weak, and she looked like she was about to collapse.

"If we're going to perform the summoning ritual, we need to hurry," Mu He urged softly. "She can't hold on for much longer."

Zhong Mu nodded, took a deep breath, and focused all his attention, determined to get this person out of the village no matter what, and to deal with those selfish and extreme residents properly.

"I'll go get someone to unlock all the locks. Let's go down quickly. If possible, I want to take you away alive." Zhong Mu immediately turned around and walked towards the elevator. "Doctor, wait for me here. I'll be right back."

"Mm." Mu He nodded, listening to Zhong Mu's departing footsteps, and looked down to find her medicine to prolong the High Priest's condition and ensure she could hold on for a while longer.

"If I don't make it through, you must take a part of my body and burn the rest so that I can be resurrected outside of the City of Fallen Souls," the High Priest murmured softly, feeling Mu He's concern for her. "Even if I can't get out alive, you must get out safely."

"Yes, he will," Mu He replied. "I believe he can lead us out of here."

"You two have such a good relationship...you trust each other so much." The high priest curled up against the wall, calming his breathing, and looked Mu He over. "You seem to be blind?"

"Yes." Mu He nodded. "It's been a long time, and I've long since gotten used to the darkness."

"Habits aren't always a good thing, but they do make people feel more comfortable." The high priest turned to look out the window. "It's a pity you'll never see such a beautiful sky again, and I almost didn't either."

"In return, how about I give you my eyes? Anyway, my body will still be intact after the next rebirth."

Mu He paused slightly as he shook out the pills, then silently shook his head, a smile playing on his lips. "I've already said it before, I'm used to the darkness, it doesn't matter if I don't have new eyes, and... I've already found a substitute that can help me see this world."

"If my vision were to suddenly return, I would be quite troubled."

The high priest seemed thoughtful. "You can't bear to part with that fine cane you found?"

"We found a very good guide dog."

The high priest shook his head silently. "It seems you really like that puppy, so much so that it's worth giving up restoring your sight for it."

"It's alright. I don't want to use other people's eyes either, especially yours. I don't want you to lose anything more. Protect everything you have; they all belong to you and shouldn't be taken away by others." Mu He murmured softly, not knowing whether she was telling the High Priest or herself, but her voice was gentle, making the High Priest feel very comfortable.

If two such wonderful people don't deserve to be like gods in her heart, then what kind of god is the one who abandoned this place?

Her faith in God had long been extinguished, and now she only believes in what she herself has decided.

"Thank you." The high priest took a deep breath, her eyelids drooping, and her breathing becoming weaker and weaker. If she hadn't been talking to Mu He to keep her conscious and hopeful, she would have given up long ago in this darkness.

"No need to thank me, just thank my lovely guide dog. He loves to hear praise." Mu He put the pill into the high priest's mouth, fed her a sip of water, stroked her long hair which was stained with blood, and said gently, "Hang in there a little longer. I can't see the sky anymore, but you can still see it. Don't give up easily."

"Hmm..." The high priest nodded, his eyes slightly reddening.

Having spent so long in the cold, desolate city of death, I had long forgotten the kindness that came from others, like warm sunshine falling on my heart, soothing all my pain.

Zhong Mu returned with the divine messengers to unlock the door.

Upon entering this area, the messengers became extremely cautious, tiptoeing to unlock the door for the high priest before standing silently to the side.

When Zhong Mu returned, he brought a blanket with him. He draped it over the High Priestess and helped her walk outside.

Having been trapped for so long, and being extremely weak, her slender legs trembled with every step she took, and she swayed unsteadily, as if she were exhausting the last bit of strength in her life to leave the city.

While anxiously supporting the High Priest, Zhong Mu also took Mu He's hand, and together they entered the elevator and descended into the main city.

As he staggered to the gates outside the main city, the high priest ignored the expectant faces crowding in front of the city. Instead, he slowly looked up at the vast sky, exhaled deeply, as if dying here at this moment would not matter.

She broke free from her cage, yearning for the vast sky as she died, achieving freedom in both body and soul.

"High Priest...! It's been a long time..."

"The High Priest looks so weak! It's all that damned city lord's doing! I wonder what he did to the High Priest!"

"Yes, yes, but we've already killed the city lord! The high priest is free now that he's summoned the god! No one can bully you anymore!"

"High Priest, hurry up! God has returned, and everyone will be happy, including you. Quickly summon God back!"

Those expectant and enthusiastic voices were now filled with concern, as if the word "cold" had never existed in the City of Fallen Life.

They showed concern for the high priest and vehemently condemned the city lord's actions. Their faces were filled with innocence, almost making one think they were a group of completely unaware innocent civilians.

The high priest withdrew his gaze from the sky, not looking at the people, but instead staring at his feet. With Zhong Mu's help, he shakily stepped onto the ladder of the summoning platform.

The last time he appeared on the high platform in the spotlight was before God disappeared.

Back then, she was the revered High Priestess, the representative of hope and life in the City of Fallen Souls. She faced faces like these, radiating enthusiasm and affection for her.

Stepping into such a place again felt like yesterday, but her heart had turned cold, and she could no longer smile at the residents of the City of Fallen Life as she used to.

The same person, once dressed in a white dress, the hem fluttering in the wind like wings flapping in flight, with a delicate face and a smile as beautiful as a flower.

At this moment, she stood there expressionless, wearing only a tattered, gray dress stained with blood. Her figure was thin and frail, her eyes were dark, and she responded woodenly to the hypocritical shouts.

"Alright... I will call back God for you."
