Cherreads

Chapter 466 - The extra chapter is so sweet, it tastes like sweet cake!

Zhong Mu's mind went blank for a moment, and he analyzed Mu He's words at lightning speed.

Before tying the red thread, something was missing... what was it?

In an instant, a multitude of thoughts flashed through his mind, from innocent to indescribably romantic, until his already reddened ears became burning hot.

Was it... a kiss? ...or... something deeper...?

The rapid pounding of Zhong Mu's heart was exceptionally clear in the quiet room. Even though Mu He didn't try to sense the emotions being conveyed through her heart, Zhong Mu's nervousness and shyness were still evident.

A surge of emotions welled up inside Mu He, making him feel his heart rate quicken.

He touched his empty chest and smiled silently.

Human emotions were more ferocious than any wave he had ever seen, churning his heart, which should have long since grown cold, up and down.

Zhong Mu, sitting opposite him, grabbed his hand and held it tightly. Her face was flushed, and her clear eyes sparkled, reflecting the light streaming in from the window and showing Mu He's figure in her pupils.

"If the doctor is willing to tie the knot with me, I'll do anything the doctor wants!"

His voice was strong and clear.

The beginning of a lasting relationship is to form a bond. He knew that many things would happen in the future and he would meet many more people, but before the vastness of life arrived, this bond must be formed with the doctor.

Mu He silently felt the warmth emanating from his hand. When people are shy, their body temperature rises, and the hand tightly held his as if trying to warm him up.

"Anything... is fine?" Mu He smiled, drawing out the last syllable.

He slowly rose, pressed down on the table between them, and leaned against Zhong Mu. The movement was gentle, yet silently exuded a sense of heaviness and threat, just like his long, white hair that fell in front of Zhong Mu—beautiful and soft, yet also cold.

"You know I can't see." Mu He's hand slowly slipped from Zhong Mu's palm and gently stroked Zhong Mu's cheek. "There are many things that are inconvenient for me to do myself. Maybe in the future, I will use this red thread to summon you every day to do things you don't want to do."

"By then, even if you regret it, you won't be able to escape it."

The oppressive aura he exuded wasn't heavy. He withdrew his hand from Zhong Mu's and touched her face, perhaps to assert his dominance. He was blind, a monster, a gentle doctor, and a person whose heart had long since turned cold.

Beneath his gentleness always lay a different kind of control.

Zhong Mu stared intently at the person who was approaching, her breathing becoming rapid.

Being unable to see really makes people lose their sense of distance. When the doctor got close, they almost kissed, which made Zhong Mu shudder.

At this moment, his vision was completely filled with Mu He. Mu He's beautiful eyebrows and eyes, her gentle face, and her long, snow-white hair that smelled of medicine completely enveloped him.

Zhong Mu's cheeks flushed slightly. How could he speak such ambiguous words in such a light and airy tone?

"I won't regret it, and I never even thought about running away…" Zhong Mu muttered. "The doctor can't see, but I can take care of you completely. You don't need to do anything for me. I will dress you, comb your hair, wash your clothes, and cook for you."

"These things that I used to dislike or didn't like to do will all become enjoyable because of the doctor."

As he spoke, his voice was full of laughter, "Thinking about it this way, the first half of my life was completely tailor-made to meet a doctor."

The things he hates can become enjoyable because of the doctor, and the needs he lacks can be met by the doctor.

He used to live in that house, where people ignored him, and even though the doctor couldn't see him, he was always in their sight.

He didn't even want to run away because of the red thread binding him; he wished he could tie a knot that wouldn't fall apart so the doctor wouldn't regret it.

"It seems... even a hundred years from now, my heart will still be with you." Mu He smiled, her index finger slowly pressing against Zhong Mu's lips, gently caressing them, silently exuding ambiguity. "Then do you want to know what we're still missing before we're tied together by the red thread of fate?"

"What else is missing?" Zhong Mu asked, his fingertip touching the tongue as he pressed against Zhong Mu's lips.

"It's so bitter…" Zhong Mu frowned.

Mu He smiled and said, "I got the medicine earlier."

Zhong Mu bit her fingertips between her teeth, not so bitter as to forget the main point, "What's missing to tie the red thread with the doctor? Whatever the doctor wants, or whatever he wants me to do, I'll do it."

"We still need…" Mu He pondered for a moment, then lowered her head and whispered in Zhong Mu's ear, "One… token of our love."

"I don't really need anything, but I do need something that I can look at when you're not in the instance."

"Just looking at it... makes me think of your stuff."

Zhong Mu's mind was racing, she was completely mesmerized and wished she could take everything out of her storage space and give it to Mu He.

But when it comes to finding something truly meaningful to give to Muhe as a token of their love, there seems to be nothing that is truly meaningful or worthy of being given, and none of them seem particularly thoughtful.

Zhong Mu frowned as he pondered what else he might have.

Mu He calmly turned around, picked up a piece of sweet cake, and stuffed it into Zhong Mu's mouth, saying, "If it's bitter, eat something sweet."

As Zhong Mu chewed on the sweet cake, he had just swallowed when he noticed Mu He placing her fingertip against his lips. "Try it, is it still bitter now?"

Zhong Mu was stunned, his mind went blank, and he did whatever the doctor told him to do.

This time, when I licked my fingertip, I didn't taste the bitter medicine, but a sweet taste. Although I knew it tasted like sweet cake, it was still... so sweet.

He could no longer tell whether the sweetness came from the pastries or the doctor.

He wanted to taste the whole hand in front of him, and then trace the wrist upwards to taste the person.

The sweet bubbles emanating from the house were so strong that the two people squatting at the door couldn't bear to look anymore; they felt that if the two didn't leave soon, they would become an eyesore.

The little paper figure angrily turned around, then stepped onto a small stool to boil medicine. Zuo Meng clearly saw him grab a handful of strange herbs and throw them into the pot, muttering to himself as he boiled them, "You tricked my doctor! I'll poison you!"

Zuo Meng silently moved away from the room and the little paper doll. He wasn't there for a vacation or a romance; he was there to complete a dungeon!

Zhong Mu is so infatuated with the person he likes that he can't be!

Zuo Meng bravely rallied her spirits and began wandering around the room looking for some useful information.

But the clinic was full of sick villagers, and the stench of decay and death filled the entire environment, leaving Zuo Meng nowhere to step. He didn't know where to go.

After wandering around for a while, he found a rule sheet on the table at the entrance, which seemed to be the rules of this clinic.

The first page at the top displays a line of clear text:

[Clinic Rule #1: Beware of doctors at night.]
