Chapter 71 - Kiln Exchange

Yarn!

Wouldn't that mean sweaters and blankets could be knitted?

Even if they could not make large items yet, scarves and socks would still be amazing.

Wool socks would definitely be incredibly warm during winter!

Hayoon immediately became interested and looked toward Minho. "When do you usually hunt this Herbaa?"

"There is no fixed time. Why?"

"If you catch any, I want to trade with the tribe for some of the fur."

"Alright. I will keep an eye out for you."

"Mhm!" Hayoon smiled brightly.

Everyone continued chatting while digesting their food.

At some point, someone started singing around the bonfire.

The carefree and melodious singing easily spread joy and excitement throughout the gathering. Soon, the young beastmen stood up and began dancing along to the music.

The beastmen here were generally handsome and well-built, and their dance movements were broad and energetic, carrying a kind of wild beauty.

Hayoon clapped along while watching for a while before Sulyeon pulled her up to join everyone else.

Since she had already watched for some time, she had memorized a few of the simpler movements.

Laughing happily, she began waving her arms and dancing together with the others.

In such a lively atmosphere, nobody cared whether the dancing looked good or terrible.

As long as everyone was having fun, that was enough.

While dancing, Hayoon suddenly thought that if they had alcohol right now, the atmosphere would be absolutely perfect.

Once she found grains someday, she definitely wanted to try brewing alcohol herself.

Everyone continued playing and laughing until the moon climbed high above the treetops.

Only then did they gather their belongings, extinguish the fires on the open field, and return to their respective caves.

With the matter of clearing land finally settled, Hayoon slept wonderfully that night.

The next morning, after waking up, she still lay lazily on the beast-hide bedding for quite a while without wanting to get up.

However, remembering that Minho had promised to take her searching for sulfur ore today, she did not stay in bed for too long.

After stretching her body lazily, she finally got up and walked out of the cave.

Summer mornings arrived early.

The mountain mist had not fully dispersed yet, but the horizon was already dyed with the colors of dawn.

Not long afterward, Minho also stepped outside.

"Morning," Hayoon greeted him with a smile.

A faint smile appeared in Minho's red eyes. "Morning."

The two of them washed up before beginning to prepare breakfast.

The weather was nice today. One of them planned to go hunting in the morning while the other planned to gather supplies, so they agreed to search for sulfur ore near the hot springs together in the afternoon.

Unexpectedly, the plans could never keep up with changes.

They had only just finished breakfast when one of the tribe patrol members arrived, saying that Chief Chorong from the Voz-Karr Tribe had returned with his people and that the two of them were needed at Chief Baek's place.

Hayoon and Minho exchanged a glance, both of them already having the same guess in mind.

Only Haeun looked confused as he asked, "Huh? Didn't they just trade cloth with us yesterday? Why are they back again?"

Neither of them answered. After reminding Haeun to stay home and watch the cave, they followed the patrol member and left.

When they arrived outside the familiar cave, Beom and Immo had already come and were standing beside Chief Baek.

Chorong, with his striking red hair and enchantingly handsome appearance, turned around and greeted them with a smile.

"Now that everyone is here, let's go inside and talk," Chief Baek said before inviting Chorong in first.

Chorong nodded. Once inside the cave, he spoke seriously. "After returning yesterday, our tribe discussed the matter carefully. We have decided to agree to your conditions. We will exchange the kiln construction method for your weaving method."

Chief Baek had already expected this outcome and replied with a smile, "Chief Chorong is truly straightforward. We are very happy to make this exchange with your tribe."

Chorong's expression turned serious. "However, we also have conditions. You cannot reveal the kiln construction method to any other tribe. The fewer people in the Ur-Shet Tribe who know about it, the better."

Chief Baek nodded. "We understand. Likewise, it would be best if your tribe also keeps the weaving method from spreading to others."

Chorong smiled faintly. "I am afraid that will not stay hidden for long."

Everyone needed to learn weaving eventually.

There was no way he could control so many mouths forever, and that was also their greatest concern.

Even so, Chorong still chose to make the trade.

Not for any other reason, but because of the "after-sales support" Hayoon had mentioned.

He looked deeply at Hayoon, feeling an intense premonition that this sub-beastwoman might one day bring enormous changes to this land.

Chief Baek understood what he meant and simply said, "Understandable."

Now that the exchange had been decided, the remaining matters became much easier to handle.

The people from both tribes sat together and discussed details for almost the entire morning.

In the end, they decided that Chief Baek would bring several trusted tribe members to the Voz-Karr Tribe first to observe and learn about their pottery kilns.

Among them was Hayoon.

Knowing that pottery kilns would definitely become one of the Ur-Shet Tribe's most important secrets in the future, Hayoon felt both surprised and honored. "You really want me to go too?"

Everyone looked at her with complete trust.

Immo spoke gently. "You were the one who taught everyone the weaving method, so of course you should go. Besides, we will also need your help teaching the Voz-Karr Tribe how to weave."

Beom nodded in agreement. "Exactly. Chief Chorong already said their pottery kilns are very special. You are smart and quick at learning things, so you are perfect for carefully studying them."

Although Chorong promised that his people would thoroughly explain the structure of the pottery kiln, he still warned them in advance. "You will understand once you see it. Our kilns were built by modifying the mountainside itself, so they may not necessarily suit your tribe. Still, no matter what problems you encounter later, we will do our best to help."
