Chapter 17 - Learn breathing

Aizawa had spent an entire month training the seven of them — teaching techniques, explaining deep concepts and breathing styles, while enduring their stupidity and constant chaos. And now, Aizawa decided it was time for the final test before the seven entered the Demon Slayer Exam. For the first time, they were about to step into the original anime storyline.

At dawn, as usual, Aizawa rang his bell with his familiar cold voice:

"Wake up, you seven idiots. A whole month has passed and not a single Breathing Technique? Seriously?"

Huthaifa, lying on his futon as usual while calculating something, replied seriously:

"Honestly, your teaching style sucks. Why all this pressure? We'll learn when we feel like it."

Mohannad stretches while being the first one awake, adjusting his black kimono:

"Honestly, nice fabric… Hmm, this would sell for a good price."

Aizawa frowns at Mohannad and groans:

"Not again. You already stole expensive things from me, you giant."

Mohannad places a hand on his chest dramatically, pretending to be shocked:

"Me? I'm poor and innocent—"

Ali cuts him off while looking around irritably:

"Shut up. I just want to sleep. You keep talking about saving people and anime, hahaha…"

Ali goes back under the blankets, trying to sleep again:

"Idiots."

Suddenly, loud snoring fills the room. Everyone turns toward the source.

It's Moamen.

Moamen moans happily in his sleep while rolling around on the futon:

"Mitsuri… come here~"

Moamen suddenly tries hugging Mazen, who screams and shoves him away violently:

"BRO, GET AWAY FROM ME! NOOOOO!"

Huthaifa glances toward Moaz's futon and notices it's empty:

"Where's Moaz?"

Aizawa smiles while stroking his white beard:

"Outside training… He truly has the will to change the ending."

---

Outside, Moaz swings his wooden sword repeatedly, combining Japanese samurai movements with martial arts techniques — knees, spins, rotations.

Sweat drips down his forehead as he pants heavily, muscles tightening with every motion while he whispers to himself:

"Stronger… stronger… stronger…"

Inside the room, the others watch him through the wooden window from the second floor.

The first person whose eyes shine with competitiveness and jealousy is Mohannad:

"So Moaz wants to beat me to the 3000 dollars? No way. I'll be the first one to hunt Muzan and the rest of his gang."

Mohannad jumps from the second floor, landing skillfully like a professional. He stands proudly, brushing back his soft black hair. At 187 cm tall, with his hands on his waist, he shouts cheerfully:

"I'm coming for you, Muzo Hinaaa!"

He rushes forward. Moaz turns toward him and smiles:

"Mono, come on. Let's grow stronger together."

Mohannad shouts excitedly while running:

"Dollars and Hashira rank!"

---

Back on the second floor, Ali decides to jump too out of jealousy:

"I'm jumping too because I am King Ali."

Huthaifa calculates quickly in his head:

"The height is around ten meters. Mohannad succeeded because he's athletic and a professional parkour player and—"

Ali jumps anyway while yelling passionately:

"Ali is here! You have nothing to fear!"

He flips in midair, lands roughly, and charges toward Moaz and Mohannad:

"I'm coming, you dollar-loving idiots! The money is mine!"

Moaz smiles to himself quietly:

"At least we all share the same goal… even if their reasons are weird."

Then Moaz raises his voice with his usual smile:

"Come on, guys!"

---

The rest of the team upstairs hears him.

Huthaifa intelligently climbs down the normal way, while Mazen foolishly prepares to jump:

"I'll evolve and hunt Kokushibo!"

Iyad beside him smiles:

"Me too. Especially so I can marry Mitsuri-san~"

Suddenly—

Moamen wakes up angrily and shoves Mazen and Iyad straight out the window.

They crash from the second floor while Moamen yells furiously:

"Enough talking! I'm tired!"

Mazen and Iyad slam into the ground.

Iyad groans painfully:

"Moamen is more dangerous than the Upper Moons…"

Mazen pushes Iyad off him with a deep annoyed voice:

"Get off me, idiot. Damn you."

But Moamen isn't done.

He jumps out the window too, descending directly toward them. Mazen and Iyad scream in terror like they just saw Muzan himself:

"NOOOOOOO!"

CRASH.

Moamen lands on top of them like a victorious lion, his dark eyes gleaming:

"I'm coming! I'll beat anyone up for Mitsuri-san's sake!"

Mazen mutters from beneath Moamen:

"When things get serious, you become a mouse… but against me you're a lion, and in battle you're an ostrich."

Moamen hears him and immediately starts punching his head repeatedly:

"Shut up, you bastard!"

---

Back to the older four.

All of them continue sparring with wooden swords, exchanging strikes nonstop.

Mohannad smiles excitedly while facing Ali:

"Come on, Aloush, keep up."

Ali roars angrily while attacking harder:

"Shut up… idiot!"

After an hour of exchanging blows, Moaz starts thinking deeply:

"Breathing Styles depend on your body type and proportions… The entire concept is about adopting a stance that channels a certain energy."

He continues analyzing internally:

"If I find the correct stance and mindset… I've got it."

Aizawa watches calmly from the training grounds while sipping tea:

"Hm… looks like there's finally someone smart here. I'm curious to see his style."

Moaz steps forward with his left foot, his sword resting at his right side. He takes a deep, calm breath.

Then whispers to himself:

"So my Breathing Technique… will represent my emotions. Here it is."

A soft whisper escapes his lips:

"Shadow Breathing… First Form… Black Hunt."

A dark shadow aura surrounds Moaz.

Aizawa's eyes widen slightly in surprise:

"A completely new breathing style… It relies on his leg muscles!"

Moaz suddenly disappears.

He launches toward Mohannad at incredible speed. Mohannad raises his wooden sword just in time to block, but the impact sends the sword flying out of his hands.

Mohannad freezes for a moment before grinning excitedly:

"Anime is awesome♡ Amazing, Moaz!"

Aizawa continues watching carefully before speaking:

"Moaz-kun. Come fight me. I want to see your level."

He raises his wooden sword seriously:

"Now I'll decide."

Moaz turns toward Aizawa, placing his hand on his sword while taking another deep breath:

"Shadow Breathing, Second Form — Splitting Shadow."

He charges at insane speed and leaps toward Aizawa.

Aizawa steadies himself and swings his own wooden sword:

"Lunar Eclipse Breathing, Seventh Form — Light Dissolution."

The two swords collide, creating a shockwave.

Both wooden swords shatter instantly.

Aizawa smiles with genuine respect:

"Well done. You've improved tremendously."

Moaz smiles and nods respectfully:

"Thank you, Aizawa-san. It's thanks to your training."

---

Moaz suddenly turns toward his friends, a mischievous shine in his eyes:

"Guys, I have an idea. You should all create your own Breathing Styles, and I'll help you."

Mohannad immediately raises his hand first.

Moaz begins explaining:

"Breathing Styles depend on your physical abilities. Understand, Mohannad? Since you're balanced in every aspect, you'll probably create a style stronger than mine."

Mohannad puffs out his chest proudly:

"Got it now."

From the side, Aizawa watches with admiration and surprise:

"That brat is genuinely helping his friends without jealousy…? Let's see what his friend can do."

Mohannad stomps the ground and takes his stance before whispering:

"Star Breathing, First Form — Meteor Light."

The moment he swings his sword, a star-like aura explodes forward at blinding speed.

Moaz stares in shock:

"This… it's like Kokushibo's technique, but star-themed!"

Mohannad smirks proudly at the others:

"I'm the leader, Mono."

Of course, Ali immediately gets annoyed:

"I'm the strongest one here!"

Meanwhile, Moaz keeps helping all the others create their own styles while Aizawa continues watching thoughtfully:

"He's completely different… Calm, honest, trustworthy… and they all believe in him?"

---

Ali releases a blazing red aura resembling fire and shouts angrily:

"Flame Breathing, First Form — Hellfire!"

He launches the attack toward Huthaifa, who calmly moves his wooden sword and whispers:

"Light Breathing, First Form — Appearance of Light."

Using graceful movements, Huthaifa redirects Ali's attack away.

Ali growls furiously:

"I'll crush you!"

---

The training intensifies until everyone finally creates their own Breathing Style.

Aizawa eventually stops them and begins speaking:

"Honestly… your breathing styles symbolize who you are. That's the true depth of Demon Slayer."

He looks toward the seven — especially the older four.

"Ali's Flame Breathing… I think he'll evolve greatly if he ever meets Rengoku. Or punches him."

"Huthaifa's Light Breathing reflects his mindset and hopefulness."

Aizawa pauses before continuing, gesturing lightly with his hand as if painting the image in the air:

"But the truly terrifying talent is Mohannad. Star Breathing… once it evolves, I think it may rival Moon Breathing itself."

Everyone falls silent.

Then Mazen suddenly raises his hand angrily:

"No! Mohannad isn't the protagonist. I am!"

Ali scoffs sarcastically:

"You're the gang idiot, Mazen. And about the strongest one? Obviously me. Consider this the start of our rivalry."

Aizawa finally turns toward Moaz and continues explaining:

"Moaz's style is mysterious. It relies on speed, deception, and hidden depth. I don't think it's bad at all."

---

As the session ends, Aizawa stands proudly and speaks with dignity:

"As for now… you are ready for the original beginning. I'll give you permission to join the Slayer Exam. Good luck during your final night in my estate."

Aizawa walks back inside while the Egyptians stand there with mixed emotions — excitement, hype, and nervousness.

Mazen smirks sarcastically at the others:

"We're gonna meet Tanjiro, guys."

---

Later that night, as everyone returns to their rooms, Aizawa kneels quietly while lighting a candle like someone praying. His eyes close thoughtfully.

"I wish those kids success… I trust them."

Meanwhile, as the seven Egyptians walk away, a cold chuckle suddenly echoes through the darkness.

A chilling voice whispers:

"I think things are about to take a wonderful turn. I can see their growth… and I promise you, their ending will become hell."

Mohannad and Ali both stop walking immediately, turning serious as they glance behind them.

Ali mutters quietly:

"Did you hear something?"

Mohannad responds while staring toward the darkness:

"Yeah… or maybe we're imagining things, bro. Come on, we need sleep."

---

The chapter ends with the seven Egyptians sleeping after their final night of training, preparing for the Demon Slayer Exam — their first real step into the original storyline.

Will they meet Tanjiro? And what kind of relationship will form between them?
