The Christmas eve is here. Damian sipped his coffee and looked quite relaxed, he sent gifts to everyone he knows, almost. For Aberforth he sent a robe, a scarf, and some winter gloves. For Albus Dumbledore, it's socks and some chocolates. For Harry, he sent a toy from joke shop in Hogsmeade. For Ron, it's a box of chocolates and a set of new chess pieces he found in the room of requirement.
For Fred and George he sent a prototype of his idea about a prank toy. They also sent their prototype to him. For Hermione he sent a book about founders and Hogwarts. This version is more detailed compared to Hogwarts and the history book. For Evelyn he hesitated for a while before sending some good looking ornaments he robbed in Slytherin dorms previously and remade them into different things to sell for later.
Yep, he became a theif long ago, for professors he sent gifts taking account of their subjects. For Hagrid it's a book from Newt Scammander on how to properly rise and take care of magical creatures. The new edition of this book is sent to Aberforth who threw it away into a corner. Damian picked it up when he visited Aberforth a few days ago. For Cedric he sent a manual about Herbology he found in the room of requirement. For Snape especially he thought for a long time before sending a good quality couldron.
For him though, the gifts are numerous, sole unknown senders, some are cursed too. He carefully put them away, he will give them once he found who sent them. Some senior girls already sent him notes, he frowned, what the hell are these girls thinking? He is still a child. This isn't an age for him date. He ignored these letters completely.
Then there is Evelyn, this devilish girl sent him a book about magic, there is a part of dark arts and also counter charms along with some daily leif spells. A dark magic book disguised as a normal spell book. Expected nonetheless from a family that followed the dark lord.
From Harry he received a wand care kit, from Ron it's a package of home made candy, from Hagrid it's some rock hard cookies and some unicorn hair. From Hermione he received a book and good looking quill. From Cedric he received some personal notes of professors he got as gifts. Useful for theory.
Old man Aberforth sent him a big package. Few dresses, some galleons, chocolates and a brand newagiphone. From Dumbledore he received an alchemy manual personally written by himself and Nicholas Flamel. Could this headmaster know his plan to steal the philosopher's stone?
Damian has a doubt for a second. But he quickly put it away. He grabbed the ritual book as soon as he saw it, no one except him knows this ritual involves the philosopher's stone or the elixir of life from it, maybe the headmaster has a speculation but not confirmation yet.
From professors he received some subject magazines and some notes. Snape sent him a new edition potion book. It's personally corrected by him. But the unexpected surprise appeared from Cassandra. This girl sent him a gift?
There is a note thanking him for saving her during the troll incident. And said this gift is to thank him. There is dress, an enchanted chain and a cloth bag galleons in the gift box. Damian put it away and wrote back while sending some ornaments along with book about Herbology for her too. She likes the subject quite well along with duels.
Just when he is going to relax after the breakfast, Harry found him," Damian I found something amazing, I saw my parents. Let's go, I'll show you ", then he dragged Damian into a room and showed him a mirror. Damian frowned and activated eye of truth. The mirror is filled with enchantments and had a small space to hide something, it's currently empty though. Damian blinked, as he saw the description.

Damian felt intrigued, he felt legilimancy probes too, but stopped then using his Occlumancy. Harry on side said," see, you can see my parents too right, i brought Ron here but he said he saw himself as a head boy and quidditch captain ", looking at Harry, Damian felt concerned.
He hesitated whether to tell Harry the truth, but ultimately chose to do it," Harry, this mirror, it only shows the deepest desires you have, it shows neither future nor the truth, but only the desire you have in your heart. Maybe you saw your parents, but don't get your hopes high, it showed you your parents as it's your desire to meet them. You know what I mean right? If you chase after this desire, it'll only bring you disappointmemt at the end ".
Harry face fell," I know, professor Dumbledore told me that too. But just for once I hoped, just once, maybe there is a chance this will become real ", Harry said while looking into the mirror with longing. Damian sighed inwardly. After a few minutes Harry left from there.
Damian meanwhile deactivated his Occlumancy to see his deepest desire. It's not showing anything previously because of this. And what appeared in the mirror made him shed tears. He saw himself smiling and held by his mother, the nuns and fellow orphans smiling in the scene showed by this mirror. He felt his chest heavy when he saw the scene. Holding the pillar he shed tears for few moments before leaving the room, now he knows what's his deepest desire is. It's not power or the strength to avenge the dead ones, it's his longing for family.
