Chapter 35 - Tale 33: Birth Of The Eleventh Dragon

There are many types of people. Among them are people like Wu Tian.

A man who left everything he had for his goal. He gambled on his future, and this afternoon was the result of his gamble.

Clang!

"Watch Shun Jin. This is how a sword cultivator fights. You're lucky we're seeing it here."

"I'm not sure I'm lucky to see this invisible duel."

A crowd of people, mostly disciples of the Night Strike sect, stood encircling two old men dueling in the middle of a small field. A field surrounded by sect buildings and stairs leading to the upper levels of the sect.

What was visible from their duel was only mist, thick dark blue qi aura, the sound of swords, and the thudding sound of punches.

They only exchanged three attacks in the mist made of solid Qi. Only three sparks and the fight was over.

"Heh, you managed to climb it after all. The stairs to human impossibility. I'm proud of you, my old friend."

Dong Wen stood with his back to Wu Tian, who also stood with his back to him.

As soon as Dong Wen turned around, a clear, neat slash mark was visible from his left shoulder to his right waist. Blood spurted slightly before the muscles in his chest tightened, closing the slash wound.

Shun Jin frowned. "What just happened?"

"You just saw it."

"I didn't see anything but smoke and the clang of swords and the thud of punches."

"That's all they did." I said. It seems someone who has reached the peak of martial arts has been born.

"As I promised, I will return your sect ownership paper, brother Wu." Dong Wen was now more polite and smiled kindly at Wu Tian. He even bowed and greeted Wu Tian.

All of Dong Wen's sect disciples who saw their patriarch greeting Wu Tian also bowed in respectful greeting. Shun Jin was confused to see the sect disciples suddenly bowing to that perverted old man.

"In the world of cultivation, strength is honor, Shun Jin. The stronger you are, the more honorable you are."

"Do I have to bow to that perverted old man? I don't want to." Shun Jin puffed out her cheeks.

"You too, even though you're busy with sect matters, you've been able to improve little by little. It's been a long time since we fought like that, brother Dong." Wu Tian walked over and patted Dong Wen's shoulder like an old friend.

"I still have to train for fifty years to be equal to you, brother Wu." Dong Wen then called out to all his sect disciples. "Today, to celebrate the return of my old friend who has successfully reached the peak of cultivation, the Immortal Realm! We will hold a celebration! Prepare all our delicious food to welcome the eleventh Dragon Cultivator! Wu Tian!"

"Hao!!" All the sect disciples immediately dispersed to prepare for Wu Tian's ascension celebration. Dong Wen's old friend.

Wu Tian shook his head. "As always, you always make simple matters complicated." Wu Tian smiled slightly at his old friend. "Don't forget to invite them too. They are my guests." Wu Tian pointed at me and Shun Jin.

"Of course. Come, follow me to my night palace."

The three of us walked, following Dong Wen to the tallest and most magnificent building in the sect. That is his ten-story pagoda. This building was like a palace in itself, located in the middle of his sect.

"Crazy man, what does the Night Strike sect leader mean by the eleventh Dragon Cultivator?" Shun Jin asked as she sat in front of polished black table, shiny. One by one, dishes began to arrive, served infront Shun Jin until they filled the entire table. Shun Jin's eyes gleamed at the sight of the various delicious foods available on her table.

"In the orthodox sects of the inner continent, there is a title for those who have reached the highest level of cultivation. They are the Dragons. Until today, there are only 10 famous people who have reached the Immortal Realm. And they are given the title of Dragon because dragons are the strongest animals that ever existed in this world." I explained while picking up a piece of roasted pork with red oil sauce from the plate and eating it. They also provided various wines on my table.

"Oooo... So that perverted old man is now one of those people? The Dragons?" Shun Jin asked while chewing spicy tofu in her mouth.

As soon as she saw the delicious food in front of her eyes, Shun Jin immediately devoured it without hesitation. I doubted if she was really a royal princess before, seeing her eat without etiquette like that in front of the patriarch of the Night Strike sect. She seemed to have really been infected by my crazyness. I was quite proud to see it.

"How impolite your mouth is, young lady. I have indeed just successfully ascended to the Immortal Realm. But that doesn't mean I am on par with the Dragons who have been in this realm longer." Wu Tian acted humbly while sipping the green tea poured by Dong Wen's disciple.

"Even so, with you successfully entering the Immortal Realm, brother Wu, the orthodox now have more strong people. Lately, the movements of the unorthodox people have become ferocious and without limits.

"In chaotic politics, the people are the main victims. Not just one or two villages have I heard recently being plundered, robbed, and burned by followers of unorthodox sects. I am getting worried that a great war will soon occur. And this war will be greater than the division of the three kingdoms.

"You came at the right time, brother Wu. Stand with me when that time comes." Dong Wen raised his cup. Wu Tian shook his head slowly while exhaling.

"In an attempt to ascend to the Immortal Realm, my friend. I must abandon all worldly desires and human needs. I believe the other Dragons will agree with me. We are merely balancing pillars, not spears of power." Wu Tian said seriously. "I will not follow or start a war, even with the most evil human in this world."

Dong Wen drank the contents of his cup and made an unhappy face.

"So you refuse to stand by me? Brother Wu? I fight to eradicate evil, as we used to do."

"And I realize, brother Dong. Evil will always exist because it is human nature. War is not a solution to eradicate evil. On the contrary. War is the seed of evil itself."

Dong Wen placed his hands on the table with tightly clenched fists.

"You don't understand because you have been alone for too long, brother Wu. The devil has arrived, this world will become hell sooner or later. We need more strong people like you to fight against this devil."

I coughed hearing that. Damn, so the rumor about the devil has spread throughout the continent, huh? I can't use the demonic sword in front of orthodox people. Otherwise, they will hunt me to the ends of the earth.

"Devil?" Wu Tian raised an eyebrow. Then he glanced at me. I shrugged while closing my eyes.

Dong Wen nodded. "It is said that the devil has begun to move in the darkness. The devil cult is starting to plan something. News of small kingdoms being destroyed one by one is starting to be heard and thousands of human lives disappear every day. We must do something, brother Wu. The Wulin Alliance needs you."

Wu Tian glanced at me again, I just shrugged. Not wanting to interfere.

"I will think about it later after the young cultivator martial art competition. Right now I have a plan to spread my name. The young cultivator competition in Nanjing is a great opportunity for me to rebuild my sect."

Dong Wen laughed heartily hearing that.

"Hahahaha, you're always like that. Focus on trivial matters compared to the current state of the world. After all, do you even have a disciple?"

Wu Tian turned to me and Shun Jin. Shun Jin, who was biting into a chicken thigh, stopped to look at Wu Tian's and Dong Wen's gazes on her. She shook her head as she realized Wu Tian was pointing to her as his disciple.

"Her?"

"Yes."

"What about that man?"

"He's her senior."

I calmly sipped my wine. I felt like laughing at what I heard, but chose to remain silent. The only person here who knew who iam was Wu Tian. I would stay quiet as long as that perverted old man didn't say anything about me.

"Heh, that competition will be held three weeks from now. That girl, I don't even see her being able to sense Qi. Are you sure you're going to bring them to the competition?"

Wu Tian nodded confidently. "They will carry my name, and make my name famous there. That's why I need my sect ownership paper as soon as possible, Brother Dong."

Dong Wen laughed heartily.

"I will also send my best young disciple. This time I will defeat you, my old friend."

After that, they chatted about the past until Shun Jin was bloated from overeating the continuously replenished food on her table.
