The courtyard trembled under the clash of power. Shadows collided with silver light, splintering into sparks. Asteria's hands glowed brighter than ever—her magic no longer wild, but controlled, elegant, devastating.

Kael moved beside her, sword weaving with her magic, a seamless dance of steel and starlight. Every strike, every spell, built on trust, instinct, and… something more.

The stranger lunged again, cloaked in shadows that twisted like liquid smoke. "Your bond… is stronger than I anticipated," he hissed. "But even together, you cannot withstand destiny itself."

Asteria met Kael's eyes. His gaze steadied her, grounded her. "Maybe destiny underestimates teamwork—and stubbornness," she shot back, feeling the thrill of power and purpose course through her.

Puff zipped past, leaving tiny sparks in his wake, and Lunevar circled behind, slashing at any shadows that dared flank them.

The fight escalated, darkness against light, prophecy against willpower, until finally, Asteria felt it—the full force of her Starweaver magic. Silver energy coiled around her like a living crown of stars. Her chest pulsed with power she had never controlled before.

She exhaled slowly. "Kael… I trust you. All of this—me—it's ours to fight together."

Kael's jaw tightened, voice low but fierce: "Always. Don't let go."

With that, Asteria unleashed a torrent of pure starfire, wrapping the shadows in brilliant silver ribbons. The stranger screamed as his form unraveled, disintegrating into sparks that scattered across the moonlit sky.

Silence fell. The courtyard glimmered in residual light. Asteria, trembling, leaned against Kael.

He cupped her face gently. "Are you okay?"

Her heart raced, cheeks warm. "I… I think I've never been better."

Kael smiled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "You were amazing."

Asteria's lips twitched. She leaned closer. "So… maybe destiny isn't so terrifying, if it gives me you."

Kael's grin softened into something tender, almost shy. "I was hoping you'd say that."

And under the shattered silver sky, with magic humming in the air and stars reflecting in their eyes, they finally allowed themselves a moment—a brush of lips, a heartbeat shared, and the promise of everything to come.
