Chapter 13 - Kel'Thuzad is Slain

"Undead mage, your doomsday has arrived," Arthas said, raising his warhammer.

"Don't let him cast another spell! Interfere with that mage!" Kel'Thuzad's voice carried a hint of annoyance.

With a wave of his staff, several swift Gargoyles let out terrifying screeches, like black arrows detaching from the main battlefield, heading straight for the rear casting position where Rhodes and Jaina were!

At the same time, Kel'Thuzad muttered incantations, and a powerful shadow energy gathered at the tip of his staff, aimed directly at Arthas, who was bravely fighting on the front lines! A dark green Magic Divine Arrow shot towards the young prince like a venomous snake!

"Arthas, be careful!" Jaina immediately warned him, alert.

However, this venomous shadow spell was harmless to Arthas, as the Paladin had already activated his Divine Shield.

Under Divine Shield, no shadow, undead, evil, or magic could harm him in the slightest.

Several Lordaeron warriors guarding Rhodes immediately stood in front of him, raising their shields high to protect the mage in the rear.

Once again, he took out two bottles of magic potions, then drank them to restore his mana. Today, you'll see what firepower suppression truly means.

Starting with zero-frame casting, Rhodes once again unleashed Magic Divine Arrow. Although Gargoyles are flying units, their health is nowhere near that of Abominations. One Magic Divine Arrow directly eliminated four Gargoyles.

The Gargoyles flying in the sky were cleared after only two Magic Divine Arrows, and the remaining three Magic Divine Arrows...

Besides two of them taking down two Abominations, Rhodes chose to give Kel'Thuzad a taste of his own medicine with one. As the saying goes, it's rude not to reciprocate; you try my magic too.

Watching the blue lightning-like energy flying towards him, Kel'Thuzad dared not be careless in the slightest. He immediately held his staff horizontally in front of him and cast Arcane Shield.

With a loud boom, the Magic Divine Arrow slammed into the Arcane Shield, causing a ripple. Kel'Thuzad himself retreated several meters, but he successfully defended against Rhodes' magic, though the Arcane Shield also shattered.

Kel'Thuzad's face showed a look of apprehension. The moment Rhodes cast his spell, he had cast Spell Counter, a magic that could effectively interrupt the opponent's casting.

But something strange happened: Spell Counter completely failed to find any magical loopholes, any Arcane Weave nodes or similar things.

This rendered Spell Counter unusable, and he had to endure a blow directly. It was truly humiliating.

The defensive magic Kel'Thuzad cast made Rhodes' eyes light up. This magic was not simple!

It could be called a life-saving artifact. You little brat, cast it a few more times. I want to steal this life-saving magic. Eagle Eye will depend on your performance.

At this moment, Rhodes' magic potions were all gone. Jaina, beside him, took out her spell pouch and handed all the recovery magic potions inside to Rhodes.

"Take them, Rhodes. I think you need these mana potions more than I do."

"Then I won't be polite, Lady Jaina. Just wait and watch the show!" Rhodes also didn't stand on ceremony, directly taking the mana potions from Jaina.

He then once again chugged two potions to fully restore his mana, and then unleashed three consecutive Magic Divine Arrows at Kel'Thuzad.

At this moment, Kel'Thuzad wanted to curse. You don't have a casting wind-up, you bastard.

There wasn't even any incantation or any magical fluctuations around him, preventing him from even using Spell Counter.

He could only once again erect a magic shield, and at the same time, cast his still-immature necromantic magic, Frost Armor.

The first Magic Divine Arrow blew apart the Arcane Shield, the second shattered the Frost Armor, and the third Magic Divine Arrow directly tore a large gash in Kel'Thuzad's body, even blasting away half of his chest.

The battle in the barn, due to Rhodes' forceful intervention and precise strikes against Kel'Thuzad, ended prematurely.

At this moment, Kel'Thuzad's eyes were wide, looking at Rhodes with disbelief. Although he was destined to die today according to the great Lich King's plan, this way of dying made him feel somewhat aggrieved.

Damn you, you wretched brat, do you think this is my full power? You don't even know what power is.

When I resurrect, you'll be the first I come for. Just you wait. When I resurrect as a great Lich, I will definitely turn you into an undead creature.

I will tear your soul apart with the most evil spells. I will torment you endlessly.

At this point, Kel'Thuzad clearly felt his life ebbing away. His time was running out, and he had to quickly complete his task.

He had to die by Arthas' hand. It was time to begin the plan.

"Do you think this can stop the Scourge? Foolish prince!" Kel'Thuzad's voice sounded even more sinister in the cold wind.

"Lord Mal'Ganis has already set up a grander feast in Stratholme! The plagued grain here has been transported to Hearthglen, and then transshipped to Stratholme.

Your kingdom, your people, will all become part of the Scourge! Young prince, you are destined to witness everything's destruction!"

"Stratholme?" Arthas was struck as if by lightning. This name instantly magnified the unease in his heart to the extreme.

If the plagued grain had been transported there... then the hundreds of thousands of residents of the entire city... Fear and rage instantly consumed Arthas' reason. "No!! I'll kill you!"

Arthas let out a beast-like roar, his eyes bloodshot and crimson. He no longer cared about defense; the Holy Light throughout his body erupted violently as if out of control, even carrying a hint of brutality.

Like a maddened lion, he charged in front of the severely wounded Kel'Thuzad, then swung his warhammer, smashing the old mage to the ground.

At this moment, Arthas' expression was distorted, looking at Kel'Thuzad with hatred, his foot stomping on him.

He raised his warhammer high and brought it down on Kel'Thuzad's head, swinging it relentlessly, directly smashing Kel'Thuzad into an unrecognizable pulp, leaving only some clothes mixed with bloody flesh on the spot.

Such a violent side of Arthas shocked Jaina and the Lordaeron soldiers present.

"Calm down, Arthas, this isn't like you," Jaina cried out anxiously.

Only Rhodes looked at Kel'Thuzad, who had been hammered into a meat patty by Arthas, with a sigh. "He's been crushed into this state; can he still resurrect later?"

"This evil Undead mage is skilled in necromancy. His master, or those cultists, will likely try to resurrect him. I think we should burn his corpse on the spot, leave nothing but ash" Rhodes suggested.
