Jin Di handed eight large cloth bags to Zhang Tengfei, then six more to Yang Jiahui. Both thanked him sincerely. One lone bag was handed to Zhang Fu.
"Thank you," Zhang Fu said stiffly, his tone as rigid as his posture.
"Big Brother Jin Di, what about me?" Yang Xia piped up eagerly. "Do I get presents too?"
"Yang Xia!" Yang Jiahui scolded. "Mind your manners."
Yang Xia pouted. "Eh? But it's only Big Brother Jin Di. We're already family."
Jin Di nodded, glancing fondly at Elena and Little Fei. "She's right. We're already family."
Yang Xia's eyes sparkled. "So that bag is mine, right? The last one! It's mine, isn't it?"
Without a word, Jin Di handed it to her.
Yang Xia squealed and hugged the bulky bag. "Thank you, Big Brother Jin Di! You're the best!"
Soon after, they moved to a spacious sitting room for tea. The autumn air was crisp, so everyone stayed indoors. Servants carried the many gifts away, deciding to leave them unopened for later.
