Chapter 3 - *3*

★RAINE★

Nathaniel stared at me for sometime before he looked ahead, maneuvering the vehicle to join others in the main road

"Why?" He asked, still not looking at me.

"He broke up with me, because of my condition, I guess." I shrugged, watching his side profile, my eyes trailing down to his veiny hands holding the steering wheel.

"Your father's Media condition, you mean?"

"I'm his daughter, so it includes me too." I answered, he came to a stop and I looked ahead to see we'd stopped at a red light. Germany was a beautiful place. The late night light. All the shops are still open. Houses, cars... They were all so nice.

"Where do I drop you?" I turned back to face him but his eyes were on the road, it had perhaps turned green as he started driving again.

I wondered. Where should he drop me? I I said home, I might cry myself to stupor. "A club."

He turned to look at me for a fraction but I caught his raised brow before he turned back to the road. "Have you ever been to a club?"

"No."

"Then why do you want to go there?" He asked again.

"I want to forget about your nephew. I want to drink and have fun and I don't want anyone to stop me."

He regarded me with a small dangerous smirk before he nodded. "A club it is then." He said with a small dark chuckle.

We drove for some time before stopping at the entrance of a big club. The music could be heard all the way from outside and I felt the urge to close my ears.

"Go on then." He said and I tore my eyes away from the club to his face. He was so gorgeous it hurt to look at him.

"You won't join me?" I widened my eyes and slapped my mouth immediately. What was wrong with me?

Nathaniel gave out a small chuckle that sent shivers up my spine. "Let's go then." He leaned in, pressing his body to mine as he opened my door, pulling away, he opened his and stepped out. I was still stunned but was quick on my feet to move. He tossed his key to the bouncer on the right side while the one on the left nodded at us as we walked inside.

God. Inside was even more chaotic than how outside sounded. Nathaniel walked toward the bar and I followed him. We made ourselves comfortable on bar stools, beside each other. He leaned his elbow on the counter and leaned his jaw in his open palm, staring at me as the male bartender came to our aid.

"Get the lady a cocktail." He said and I narrowed my eyes.

I spoke up before the male bartender could move to complete the order, "I don't want cocktails," I said, staring at Nathaniel then shifted my gaze back to the bartender, "I want alcohol." My eyes slanted to Nathaniel to see the wide grin on his lips and he twinkle in his eyes.

"Never knew the dainty lady Mitchell took alcohol." He drawled and I bit my lips, suddenly feeling ashamed. Was I doing too much just by taking alcohol?

"I've drank a few times with Hailey." I whispered but I knew he heard me as he nodded.

The order came quickly, there was a glass of red wine and a glass of another blue coloured wine. Nathaniel hadn't placed an order but the bartender knew exactly what to get. "Are you a regular here?" I asked, sipping the wine and trying not to wince. I didn't want him to see how weak I was, even to alcohol.

"Not really, but on the few times I've come. I order the same thing." He responded.

"Blue wine?" I asked with a raise of my brow.

"Blue Nun." He clarified with a deep chuckle.

"Oh, oh .." Suddenly I felt embarrassed. I was a Media person but I didn't even know the name of a blue wine.

"There's nothing to feel embarrassed about. Blue Nun is rare. Jaizco is one of the clubs that offers it. It's quite expensive too." He nodded, sipping from his wine. I did the same, but this time, taking more than a sip.

We sat in silence, the only sounds being the glass cups. I'd drunk three glasses of my red wine and was starting to feel lightheaded. I didn't even know where I was.

"Hey you..." I slurred, "Get me another glass." I slammed the glass atop the counter a little too hard, wondering how it didn't even break.

"You're drunk." A deep voice says by my side. Narrowing my unfocused eyes, I turned to see the handsome man I'd come with earlier.

"I'm not!" I shook my head and hiccuped, "Oops." I chuckled and leaned back, but it was a bar stool and I'd have fallen and smashed my head on the ground if Nathaniel didn't hold my back.

"We should head home." He says.

"No! No, no no!!" I yelled, "I want to stay and drink more."

I heard Nathaniel sigh, followed by colourful curses that could turn water into red. I chuckled but yelped when Nathaniel pulled me up to my feet. "I don't want to go home... Nathaniel." At that point, I didn't know who I was anymore. I wasn't the shy girl who suffered from low esteem and validation, but a new person. I wished I could stay drunk forever.

"What do you want to do then?" I felt an arm—his arm—snake around my waist and I pushed myself into him more. Sniffing his scent. God, he smelled so good. "Raine..." His voice came out strained. Did I have an effect on him? Elliot never sounded this choked when we were intimate.

Raising myself on my tiptoes, I sniffed his neck and moaned then I slowly kissed his neck and licked him there. Elliot told me once that men like it when their neck is kissed. "Do you like me kissing your neck, Nathaniel?" I purred and came to his face, my line of sight was directly on his dark lips and I felt the inexplicable urge to kiss him.

Without any more thoughts, I leaned in and pressed my mouth to his.
