Chapter 324 - Chapter 324: A Cold Night

It was already early morning, and the chill of the night was becoming unbearable. After several hours, Miwako Sato moved closer to Yuu Hoshimiya again, their fingers tightly interlaced.

Yuu looked at Sato beside him. She was wearing only a purple skirt suit, with nothing but sheer stockings on her lower body.

As the cold set in, Sato shivered unconsciously, her small face turning pale from the cold. Yuu's heart ached at the sight.

He stood up, turned, and stepped over the toilet to stand beside Sato.

Sato panicked immediately and began to struggle slightly.

"Yuu-kun, what are you doing now? I'm telling you, don't even think about it! Absolutely not here!"

Seeing the usually brave and decisive Flower of the MPD scared like this by him, Yuu couldn't help but shake his head and laugh.

The restroom stall was too narrow to accommodate two people on the same side unless Yuu lay on top of Sato.

However, afraid of crushing her, Yuu wrapped one arm around Sato's slender waist, pulled her up, and stepped back over the toilet to his original side on the right.

After switching sides, Yuu lay on the cold floor, while Sato had no choice but to lie in his arms.

Yuu extended his cuffed left arm far out over the pipe so Sato could relax her right arm.

"I was afraid you'd freeze, Sister Miwako, so you'll have to suffer sleeping in my arms tonight."

Yuu's gentle voice reached her ears, and Sato noticed the detail with his left hand.

It's the little things that show if someone cares. Sato was touched; she looked up, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

But soon, that smile froze as she felt a hand on her thigh again.

This guy is terrible! Can't he leave a moment for sentiment? What a mood killer!

Lying in the narrow space, Yuu held Sato's slender waist, feeling the elastic sensation blooming against his chest.

His hand gently stroked the meat-colored stockings under Sato's purple skirt, feeling that life couldn't be better.

Because Sato was a police officer who exercised regularly and was skilled in judo, her entire body felt amazing to touch. Four words described it best: excellent elasticity.

Whether it was the softness of her chest, her long slender legs, or her full buttocks, everything had amazing elasticity.

So, Yuu's large hand roamed ceaselessly.

Sato bit her lip, her eyes misty.

Her right hand was cuffed and useless, and her left hand was no match for the monstrous strength of Yuu's arm.

Lying on Yuu, the (cool beauty) police officer felt the foreign object against her lower abdomen. Her face flushed red, and she punched Yuu's chest a few times in annoyance.

However, the force was completely different from when she arrested criminals.

Yuu looked at Sato's beautiful face and slowly leaned in.

Sensing something, the police flower closed her purple eyes slightly and tilted her face up.

Yuu kissed Sato's small mouth directly, launching an immediate offensive.

The kiss was extremely long, lasting until Sato could no longer breathe before he released her.

Yuu's right hand firmly grasped a full buttock as he said, "Sister Miwako, tonight is tough for both of us, but it will pass. Let's sleep now."

"Sleep is fine, but remove your hand from my butt first!" Sato toughened up for once.

Yuu smiled. "Sorry, I always need to hold something to sleep peacefully!"

Then he looked up, kissed Sato again, and closed his eyes.

The police flower glared at Yuu in annoyance but didn't force him to remove his hand.

The night was indeed cold, and Sato was reluctant to leave Yuu's warm embrace. Finally, she lay on Yuu's chest and closed her eyes.

Early the next morning.

Wataru Takagi set off from the hotel with the Detective Boys.

First, he stopped by a nearby department store to confirm something, then called Mr. Kitagawa's company to ask about some matters.

Then, leading the group of children, he arrived at Kitagawa's home and knocked on the door.

Kitagawa came out, frowning when he saw the police officer from yesterday.

"You guys again? I explained everything clearly yesterday."

Then, Mr. Kitagawa began to describe how he witnessed the scene, speaking very fast, as if rehearsed.

"That day, I couldn't find Miss Muranishi or Mr. Higashida at the company. Thinking it was strange, I came to the apartment to look for them. I knocked on Miss Muranishi's door for a long time, but no one answered. So I called the apartment manager to unlock the door, only to find the chain lock on and Higashida sleeping soundly in bed."

"I called him for a long time before he woke up and opened the door. Then we found Miss Muranishi dead on the floor in the bathroom. There was a TV cable next to her; obviously, she was strangled with it."

"Moreover, both the murder weapon and the doorknob had Higashida's fingerprints. He is the killer. Officer, do you have any more questions?"

Kitagawa had strong psychological quality, his aura suppressing Takagi, making the latter doubt if he had the wrong person.

Seeing Takagi so spineless, Conan shook his head and said, "That's your script for framing Mr. Higashida, but unfortunately, the facts are completely different!"

"Where did this brat come from?" Mr. Kitagawa looked impatient.

Conan wasn't annoyed; most exposed criminals reacted similarly. He was used to it.

He pushed up his glasses and began to explain with certainty.

"You found out about the furniture and layout of Mr. Higashida's home beforehand. Then you bought gray sheets, pillows, quilts, and curtains just like his to replace hers. Next, you took the calendar off the wall and put it in the wardrobe, moved the table and chairs to match Mr. Higashida's layout, and finally moved Miss Muranishi's cactus to the balcony. Since it's the same apartment building with the same layout, this fake setup was enough to confuse Mr. Higashida."

Hearing this, Kitagawa's face changed instantly.

Ai added from the side.

"We asked your company, and you happened to be absent on the day of the murder. Actually, you took your tools, avoided the surveillance cameras, used a spare key to enter Miss Muranishi's room, and lay in ambush."

"When Miss Muranishi arrived, you strangled her with the TV cable and dragged her body to the bathroom. Then you went to the izakaya, got Mr. Higashida drunk, and brought him to Miss Muranishi's room. Because you adjusted the layout, it looked exactly like Mr. Higashida's home."

"The drunken Mr. Higashida followed your instructions, locked the door, and fell asleep on the bed, completely unaware that a dead body lay in the bathroom."

"The next day, you found the property manager to open the door with you, becoming the first witness to the murder."

Kitagawa's face was dark. "What about Higashida's fingerprints on the weapon?"

"Simple. You just had Higashida, who is good at assembling TVs, help you assemble one once, save that cable, and use it during the murder," Conan explained calmly.

Hearing this deduction, Kitagawa laughed. "Kid, deduction games are fun, but Officer, I don't have time to play with you. You have no evidence to prove I did it."

Conan, having already secured the evidence, smiled smugly and countered, "Is that so? Mr. Kitagawa, what about the wound on your index finger?"

Ai stepped forward, speaking coldly: "The Golden Barrel cactus. You should remember it, Mr. Kitagawa."

"It was given to Miss Muranishi by the landlady on the day of the murder. Both of them loved cacti and took good care of them, so the shape was perfect. I was wondering why the Golden Barrel cactus had broken thorns in just a few days, but seeing Mr. Kitagawa's index finger, I understand everything."

"If Mr. Kitagawa claims he never visited the scene, why would he encounter a cactus given by the landlady only that day?"

Conan pointed at Kitagawa. "We just need to test the substance on the cactus. Once the results are out, we can arrest you for murder."

Now Kitagawa looked truly ashen, unable to refute.

Hearing this, Kitagawa sighed deeply.

"I didn't expect to be seen through by a few kids. I admit it. I killed Muranishi. That woman was too controlling. I didn't love her at all, but she used her position as my superior to force me to marry her. I had no choice but to kill her!"

After saying this, Kitagawa collapsed to the ground with a mournful face.

Ai stepped forward, her small face cold.

"Just because a woman was controlling, you killed someone who loved you? You scumbag!"

Takagi smiled awkwardly and stopped her. "Ai-chan, don't be so harsh."

He turned to Kitagawa, took out his handcuffs, and his expression became serious.

"In that case, you'll have to come with us."

Just as Takagi handcuffed Kitagawa, a police car screeched to a halt with sirens blaring.

The doors opened, and Inspector Megure and Officer Shiratori ran out.

It was the first time Conan had seen Megure move so fast, completely unlike his usual steady, chubby image.

"Takagi! Weren't you transporting the prisoner? Why are you here? Where is Officer Sato?" Megure roared angrily.

Takagi stood up straight and saluted Megure.

"Inspector Megure, I caught the real killer of Miss Muranishi! It's Mr. Kitagawa here. He just confessed to killing her because of forced marriage and framing his colleague, Mr. Higashida, whom he had a bad relationship with."

"As for Officer Sato, she should be out of the Beika Art Museum by now. Last night, due to a mishap, she and Consultant Hoshimiya were cuffed together in the eighth-floor restroom of the museum while guarding the suspect, Mr. Higashida. Now that the museum is open, they should have been rescued!"

Hearing this, Megure breathed a sigh of relief, but he quickly realized something.

"What? Beika Art Museum? The one scheduled for demolition by explosion today? Oh no!"

Hearing this, the faces of Ai, Takagi, and Conan turned grim.

They hurriedly got into the police car with Megure and rushed toward the Beika Art Museum.

Leaving Shiratori looking speechless at the handcuffed killer Kitagawa and the three Detective Boys.

Megure ordered someone to call the officer maintaining order at the demolition site, but it was too noisy outside the museum, and the officer didn't hear the phone ring.

Megure shouted orders to the driver: "Full speed ahead! I want to see the Beika Art Museum as fast as possible!"

Standing on the high platform, Professor Agasa, wearing a black suit, introduced his invention with excitement on his round face.

"This demolition uses Rainbow Bombs, my latest invention! The explosive power is completely controllable and won't affect any other buildings. Moreover, when it explodes, it will produce a beautiful seven-colored rainbow light."

Agasa looked proud.

"Let us bid farewell to the Beika Art Museum, which has been with us for over forty years, under a rainbow and welcome its rebirth!"

The crowd below was even more excited.

Agasa held the button. "Everyone, count down with me! Ten, nine, eight... three, two, one!"

Just as he was about to press the button, a soccer ball flew from the distance, hitting Agasa square in the forehead and knocking him down.

The people in the car finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Made it in time...

Takagi got out of the car, snatched the handcuff key sent from the station, and ran directly toward the eighth floor. Ai and Conan followed with their short legs.

Since the museum was about to be demolished, the power was cut, so the elevators didn't work. Takagi had to climb the stairs.

He ran extremely fast, leaving Ai and Conan behind, his suit soaked in sweat.

Panting, he rushed into the men's restroom and saw Higashida sleeping on the door panel, tied up.

Takagi's face lit up with joy; he couldn't wait to see Sato's surprised expression.

He rushed outside the stall and shouted, "Officer Sato!"

But the scene before him was unbelievable.

The smile on Takagi's face froze, his pupils contracted, his dark face turned even darker, his mouth opened wide, and his tongue lolled out, twitching unconsciously.

At this moment, Miwako Sato was sleeping peacefully in Yuu Hoshimiya's arms like a tame kitten, a smile on her lips.

And Yuu's large hand was inside her skirt, kneading her buttocks.

Both were sound asleep and didn't hear the noise outside.

In reality, Yuu had woken up long ago and had been monitoring Agasa's situation.

Knowing the place was about to be demolished, he obviously wouldn't do nothing and rely on fate.

What if fate deviated slightly and the demolition wasn't interrupted?

But everything went smoothly. Seeing Agasa taken down by Conan's soccer ball, Yuu relaxed and went back to sleep, holding the fragrant and soft police flower.

But now that Takagi was here, the main force would arrive soon, so he decided to wake up.

Looking at Takagi's grotesquely distorted expression, Yuu naturally withdrew his hand from Sato's skirt.

Then, he waved at Takagi and smiled. "Officer Takagi, good morning."

Looking at the smile on Yuu's face and the right hand waving at him—the same hand that had just been on Sato's butt—Takagi felt his anger about to erupt.

He had stayed up all night solving the case, working so hard, while Yuu was here touching Sato's butt...

Unforgivable! Unforgivable!

But what could he do about it?

Just then, Sato woke up too. She looked at Yuu sleepily, her voice lazy and coquettish.

"Yuu-kun, what's with the noise? I want to sleep a bit longer!"

Saying this, Sato smiled mischievously and pinched Yuu's pectoral muscle. "Such big pecs make the perfect pillow!"

Seeing Yuu pout towards the door, Sato realized something was wrong. She turned her head quickly and saw the petrified Takagi.

Takagi's heart shattered like glass hitting the floor.

Sato's words echoed in his mind.

"Yuu-kun, what's with the noise? I want to sleep a bit longer! Such big pecs make the perfect pillow!"

"Yuu-kun... such big pecs..."

"Yuu-kun... such big pecs..."

Sato's face turned red instantly. She hurriedly sat up and explained, "Officer Takagi, don't misunderstand! It was too cold last night, so we had to hug for warmth. Please don't tell anyone!"

Takagi remained frozen for a long time, like a short-circuited robot.

No, a robotic dog would be more accurate.

After a while, Takagi reacted, speaking robotically. "I didn't misunderstand. You were just hugging for warmth. Hehe! Hehe!"

His laughter was hollow; he looked completely foolish.

"Officer Sato, I brought the key. Here!"

Takagi moved stiffly forward and handed the key to Sato.

Sato looked at Yuu in confusion, and Yuu could only wave his hand.

Takagi looked like he had suffered too much stimulation, overloading his brain and causing some bodily functions to malfunction. He should be fine after a rest.

The handcuffs were opened, revealing a deep red mark on Sato's left wrist.

Yuu saw the mark and placed his hand on Sato's shoulder, secretly casting healing magic.

Sato immediately felt a tingling sensation in her body, causing her to shudder and let out a surprised gasp.

Hearing this sound, Takagi turned around instinctively, only to see Sato trembling with a look of enjoyment.

And Yuu's evil hand was on her shoulder.

His pupils contracted a few times, and he turned back quickly, hypnotizing himself.

This isn't real. It's all an illusion!

At this moment, Conan and Ai ran up. Ai saw Yuu's hand on Sato's shoulder in the restroom, and a cold light flashed in her eyes!

Seeing Conan and Ai, life returned to Takagi's face.

Right! I solved the case and caught Kitagawa! If I tell Officer Sato, she'll definitely look at me differently.

Those things just now weren't Officer Sato's will; Consultant Hoshimiya forced her.

If I tell her about solving the case, I still have a chance!

Confidence gradually returned to Takagi's face.

Meanwhile, Ai walked up to Yuu with a cold face.

She saw the red lipstick mark on the chest of Yuu's suit, matching the color on Sato's lips, and felt annoyed.

Ai lifted her short leg and kicked Yuu's shin hard, then stomped on his foot.

It doesn't hurt at all!

Yuu saw Ai and picked her up. Seeing the cold loli glaring at him, he smiled. Ai was cute even when jealous!

Takagi's face returned to normal. He said to Sato, "Officer Sato, Mr. Higashida was indeed framed. The real killer is someone else. I stayed up all night and finally found the real killer and arrested him. You'll never guess who it is!"

Sato tilted her head, looking at Takagi with her purple eyes. Takagi looked proud.

"The one who killed Miss Muranishi was Mr. Kitagawa!"

Just as Takagi prepared to enjoy Sato's surprised expression, he found her expression unchanged. Instead, she opened her mouth lightly.

"So it really was Kitagawa. Consultant Hoshimiya deduced it last night. Unfortunately, my phone died, or I could have reminded you, Officer Takagi."

As soon as Sato said this, Takagi felt ten thousand arrows piercing his heart, shattering his barely glued-together glass heart once again!

Deduced it last night!

Then what was the point of me staying up all night and doing all that?!

Takagi fell into deep self-doubt, hanging his head low.

Yuu, holding Ai, walked to Higashida's side, pretended to wake him up by patting his shoulder, and dispelled the magic.

Higashida woke up.

Yuu said, "Congratulations. Your case is solved. The killer wasn't you; it was Mr. Kitagawa!"

Hearing this, Higashida wept with gratitude, bowing to Yuu repeatedly from the floor.

"Thank you so much, Consultant Hoshimiya!"

Conan rolled his eyes with a deadpan expression.

You're thanking the wrong person! Did this guy do anything?!

At 11:00 AM, Yuu's group stood with Megure and the others, watching Professor Agasa, sporting a large bump on his head, walk back onto the stage.

Agasa gave another speech and restarted the countdown.

"Five, four, three, two, one."

He pressed the button. BOOM...

The Rainbow Bombs exploded, and the Beika Art Museum collapsed into ruins amidst the seven-colored light of the explosion.

The crowd cheered at the sight.
