Chapter 328 - Chapter 328: Arson Case & The Man in Sorrow (Part 2)

Yuu Hoshimiya released Miwako Sato, gently stroked Ayumi Yoshida's head with his right hand, and said warmly, "It's okay, Ayumi. With Big Brother here, no one can hurt you."

Hearing his voice, the little loli's cute face regained its composure, and she smiled brightly at Yuu.

Tsk...

Perhaps because he had been experimenting with Ai Haibara too much, seeing this innocent smile actually made Yuu think of some extremely wicked things.

He quickly shook his head to banish those thoughts.

Yuu continued, "Ayumi, can you tell us what the arsonist looked like?"

Ayumi nodded immediately. "That evening, I was going to buy a Kamen Yaiba mask when a man suddenly walked out of the alley nearby."

"He looked so scary! He was all dirty, had long hair, and his eyes were narrow and slanted like a fox. Plus, he smelled really bad."

"I just glanced at him, and he glared at me. So I hid behind the vending machine and heard him muttering words like 'party' and 'celebrate' as he walked away."

"Later, a huge fire started in that alley."

"Brother Hoshimiya, I'm scared. What if that bad man comes to kill me?"

Hearing Ayumi's words, Yuu raised an eyebrow and said, "Don't worry, Ayumi. Big Brother will catch this bad man today. I won't let anything happen to you!"

"Really?" Ayumi's face filled with pleasant surprise. "That's great!"

Ayumi hugged Yuu's leg tightly, causing Conan Edogawa's mouth to twitch nearby.

...

Miwako glanced at Yumi Miyamoto beside her. "I say, Yumi, how long are you going to hug him? You're stuck to Consultant Hoshimiya like tape. Don't you have to work?"

Yumi smiled.

"I just finished my patrol duties for today. Since I ran into Yuu-kun, slacking off a bit is fine. Besides, I can help you guys look after the kids!"

Miwako said grumpily, "Well, thank you so much for that!"

She turned to Yuu.

"Yuu-kun, what should we do now? Send the kids home first?"

Yuu smiled and patted Ayumi's head. "No rush. I'm in a good mood today. How about I treat you all to a big meal?"

"Wow! I want eel rice!"

"Yay! I didn't want to go back so early anyway!" Little Ayumi bounced up and down in front of Yuu.

Yuu turned to Miwako. "Sister Miwako, let's go to the restaurant your dad's friends just went to. You can catch up with them too!"

Hearing this, Miwako nodded.

The restaurant was called Nanamagari, conveniently located opposite Shinagawa Station.

Yuu got into his Lexus, followed by Yumi and the two little lolis.

Miwako got into her red Mazda, and the other three boys from the Detective Boys sat in the back.

Miwako rolled down the window, her heroic short hair fluttering in the wind. "Yuu-kun, I heard your driving skills are also very impressive. We only caught the culprit last time thanks to you."

"Since we have the chance, how about a race? Let's see who gets to Nanamagari Restaurant first."

A smile appeared on Yuu's face. "Sister Miwako, is there a prize for winning?"

Miwako glanced at Yumi in Yuu's passenger seat. "The loser must unconditionally agree to one request from the winner!"

Her calculation was simple: she wanted to force Yuu to keep his distance from her best friend, Yumi.

Yumi instantly saw through Miwako's sinister intention. Knowing Miwako drove like a maniac, she whispered, "Yuu-kun, don't agree to it!"

Yuu smiled brilliantly, placed his large hand gently on Yumi's thigh, patted it, and shouted, "Sister Miwako, it's a deal!"

"It's a deal!"

We're going to lose! Yumi's expression fell instantly, her gaze toward Yuu filled with deep resentment.

Tragic. Miwako is definitely going to stop me from being with Yuu-kun.

"Then let's begin!"

A smile spread across Miwako's face, a hint of wildness appearing on her exquisite features. She pulled out a red police siren and placed it on the roof of her car.

The siren wailed, and the red Mazda shot forward like an arrow. Genta, Mitsuhiko, and Conan in the back immediately let out screams.

Yumi shouted, "Miwako, you're playing dirty! Using the siren and getting a head start!"

Yuu didn't mind at all. Instead, he turned around and carefully fastened Ayumi's seatbelt, then said, "Ayumi, let's play a game. When Big Brother starts driving, close your eyes and count to three hundred. You can only open your eyes after that, okay?"

Hearing this, Ayumi nodded her cute little face seriously, closed her eyes, and waited for the car to start.

The fake loli, Ai, needed no reminding. She had already fastened her seatbelt and closed her eyes with a serious expression.

Although Yumi felt despondent, she could only trust Yuu now.

Fortunately, having experienced his absurd driving skills yesterday, she still had some confidence.

The Lexus's engine roared instantly, the black beast's speed skyrocketing.

Yuu floored the gas pedal, the strong acceleration pressing them into their seats.

The speedometer needle climbed steadily. The Lexus reached its top speed with maximum acceleration: forty, eighty, one-twenty, one-sixty, two hundred... and still climbing...

My god! This is the city! Driving at such high speeds through heavy traffic is absolute madness!!

Yumi's pupils contracted constantly, her heart beating faster and faster. Even used to Miwako's crazy Mazda, she could barely handle this thrill.

The stimulation made her want to scream, but her throat felt blocked; she opened her mouth but no sound came out.

The Lexus sped along at maximum speed. Seemingly bulky, it was actually incredibly agile. Ignoring all obstacles and vehicles ahead, it constantly changed lanes, carving a lightning-fast trajectory.

The Lexus ignored all traffic lights. Even at red lights with cross traffic, it found gaps to squeeze through.

The overtaken drivers stared at the receding black lightning, hitting their brakes in shock, unable to comprehend what had just passed them.

The speed was simply too fast!

As a result, cars stopped wherever the Lexus went, as if it was paralyzing the entire road.

Every time they brushed past another car, Yumi's heartbeat maxed out. Adrenaline pumped continuously, and her face grew increasingly flushed.

Too stimulating! Too thrilling!

Intoxicated, she glanced at the serious, handsome man beside her. He was the one bringing all this.

The speed stabilized at 240 km/h and didn't increase further, but that was already terrifying enough.

The city speed limit was 30 km/h, meaning Yuu was driving eight times the normal speed.

It was unbelievable that he didn't sideswipe any other vehicles at such a speed!

Such reaction and control seemed absurd, but in the Conan world, it wasn't impossible.

Setting aside Miwako Sato's currently absurd speed ahead, Toru Amuro, the dark-skinned agent, had performed even more ridiculous driving maneuvers.

Even Conan, riding a solar-powered skateboard, constantly overtook cars in heavy traffic on an overpass and eventually performed an impossible mid-air acrobatic jump.

This speed wasn't Yuu's limit, but it was the limit of the road.

Street racing isn't just about speed; many factors must be considered.

As a classic saying goes: Anyone can press the gas on a straightaway; being fast in corners is true speed.

Right now, in Yuu's eyes, there was only one optimal path through the traffic. He didn't need to brake, wouldn't hit any cars, and could drive straight through.

The Lexus maintained a constant high speed of 240 km/h. Although it constantly changed lanes to overtake, it didn't cause any discomfort.

A car only induces fear when it brakes and accelerates abruptly.

The newly replaced premium tires also held up well, with no blowout like last time.

Of course, this was also because Yuu wasn't performing extreme drifts.

Yumi was inherently a bold girl, and with Yuu's superb driving skills keeping the Lexus incredibly stable, it unconsciously gave her a strong sense of security.

In the back seat, Ayumi obediently kept her eyes closed and counted.

Without the visual impact, and with the car maintaining a steady speed after the initial rapid acceleration, Ayumi adapted, so the speed didn't bother her at all.

The same went for Ai; she even opened her eyes to watch the scenery flashing by outside the window.

However, the situation in the other car was entirely different.

Miwako Sato's crazy Mazda was no joke.

The red Mazda performed various hair-raising drifts like a bolt of red lightning.

In the back seat, Genta, Mitsuhiko, and Conan screamed continuously.

Mitsuhiko was directly scared to tears. "Mommy! I want my mommy!"

Conan roared repeatedly, "Slow down! Drive slower, Officer Sato! We're already far ahead!"

Genta was deathly pale, his chubby hands gripping the handle tightly, refusing to let go, his body trembling constantly.

The cool police flower frowned. "You guys are boys, you should be braver! I don't want to lose this race!"

Despite her words, seeing no sign of Yuu in the rearview mirror and wanting to consider the three boys, she slowed down slightly.

She reduced her speed from 140 to 90 km/h.

But just then, a galloping black beast appeared in the rearview mirror, rapidly approaching.

This pitch-black Lexus overtook countless vehicles, instantly passing Miwako's red Mazda and quickly pulling far ahead.

Miwako's jaw dropped. She stared at the receding Lexus in disbelief.

How can he be so fast?

She gritted her teeth, floored the gas pedal again, her small face filled with determination as she began a desperate pursuit.

The police siren wailed as the red Mazda raced frantically again, the needle climbing from 90 to 140, and then past it...

Miwako drove more and more dangerously, eliciting continuous screams from the three boys in the back.

...

Three minutes later, as Ayumi reached 180, the Lexus parked steadily in front of Nanamagari Restaurant.

This drive would normally take anyone else at least twenty to almost thirty minutes, but Yuu did it in three, with the car unscathed.

Yuu looked completely unfazed, as if he hadn't done anything remarkable.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Yumi looked at Yuu.

Her heart was racing, her face flushed, and her body covered in a fine sweat. Her proud breasts heaved continuously, looking very eye-catching.

Yumi let out a long breath. Stimulated by the adrenaline, she unbuckled her seatbelt, flipped over the center console, and sat on Yuu in the driver's seat.

Her exquisite face approached Yuu again, and she planted a kiss on his lips.

Again!

This is intolerable!

With one hand, Yuu pulled out the keys to turn off the engine; with the other, he unbuckled his seatbelt.

Then, wrapping his arm around Yumi's waist, he took control, pressing her against the steering wheel and kissing her pink lips fiercely.

His hot hands subsequently covered her body, roaming over her soft curves.

Hearing the noise, Ayumi in the back seat felt a bit confused but continued to count obediently.

"210, 211, 212..."

Yumi kissed frantically but was firmly suppressed by Yuu. If Ayumi hadn't been there, the two, like a lit match to dry wood, might have staged an R-18 scene instantly.

Seconds ticked by as Ayumi counted.

Seeing the couple kissing passionately in the front, Ai's face turned cold. She simply turned her head away, adopting an "out of sight, out of mind" approach.

She was a bit angry and jealous, but not that angry or jealous.

Probably because she was already used to Yuu having many female confidantes. One more Yumi wasn't a big deal, and one less wouldn't make much difference either.

"278, 279, 280..."

Yuu's large hand withdrew from the blue traffic police uniform. He panted heavily, his eyes completely bloodshot, but he gradually reigned himself in.

He released Yumi's mouth, leaned close to her ear, and whispered softly like a lover.

Hearing Yuu's words, a flash of shyness crossed Yumi's face. Her already flushed cheeks became even more seductive, and her eyes looking at Yuu were filled with watery charm.

Yuu let out a long breath, opened the car door, and patted Yumi's perky buttocks.

Only then did Yumi get up and step out of the car, but she quickly leaned against it.

After the intense intimacy just now, Yumi's body felt a bit weak.

"298, 299, 300."

Ayumi opened her eyes and immediately noticed the car had changed locations.

The redness in Yuu's eyes faded, and he smiled warmly at the little loli. "Ayumi is so amazing! Counting to three hundred is exactly five minutes."

Hearing the praise, the little loli instantly smiled, her eyes curving into crescents. "I'm super accurate at counting seconds!"

"Great. Later, Ayumi can order whatever she wants to eat, and Big Brother will buy it for you. Let's get out of the car!"

"Yay!"

Yuu got out with Ai and Ayumi. Taking advantage of no one looking, Ai extended her slender short leg and kicked Yuu's shin.

Yuu deliberately put on an expression of pain while trying hard to endure it.

Seeing his reaction, the fake loli turned her head and hummed softly, a smile quietly creeping onto her lips before she returned to her usual cold demeanor.

Seeing Ai's reaction, Yuu knew the matter was settled. He felt a hint of joy but kept a straight face.

The four got out of the car and stood in front of Nanamagari Restaurant. Turning the corner of the street ahead led to Shinagawa Station.

Yuu said to Yumi, "Yumi, I'll leave the red light running records for this Lexus to you!"

"Piece of cake!"

Yumi took out her phone and made a call. The records for the twenty-plus red lights they had run through along the way were entirely erased.

Two minutes later, the red Mazda drifted beautifully and parked behind the Lexus. The car door opened instantly, and Miwako stepped out of the driver's seat looking quite dejected.

Mitsuhiko, Genta, and Conan scrambled out of the back seat like they were fleeing for their lives.

Wearing a wicked smile, Yuu's eyes roamed up and down the cool police flower's curvy figure.

"Sister Miwako, since things turned out this way, you owe me a request!"

Miwako looked indignant. "I don't know how you drive. How can this crappy car go so fast? I couldn't even catch up."

"I accept my defeat. I owe you a request; just name it!"

"There's no rush for that. I'll tell you when I figure it out!"

Then, Yuu noticed the three miserable boys next to the red Mazda.

Genta's face was deathly pale, and Conan's was greenish.

But the freckle-faced Mitsuhiko had it worst. Holding onto a nearby tree, he threw up with a "bleh," looking like he was puking up bile. He looked miserable.

Miwako looked quite guilty.

Ayumi ran over, asking with concern, "What happened to you guys? Why do you look like this?"

Genta's lips were still trembling. Conan took a deep breath and said, "Officer Sato drove way too fast! It was terrifying!"

Ayumi tilted her head and laughed.

"You guys are such cowards! Brother Hoshimiya drove even faster than Officer Sato, and I'm fine! How did you get so scared?"

Her innocent words pierced Conan and Genta's hearts like daggers.
