"She's not going anywhere," a commanding voice rang out from the corridor. The classroom door burst open with force.
A distinguished older gentleman in an immaculate, costly suit walked in with purpose.
Though age had etched lines across his features, he carried himself with perfect posture, his eyes crackling with sharp intelligence.
I recognized him immediately—Samson. The program's co-founder had chosen to visit on opening day. He'd collaborated with Hillview Central High School to establish a place where students could gain the competitive advantage they needed to succeed.
He was also here on Vera's personal request: to watch over me. He'd just shown up and was searching for me when he spotted the same intriguing girl from the Shaw family gathering—me—currently locked in conflict with the instructor.
Samson had walked in just as Myra ordered me to leave. I watched shock flash across his face.
