Sue's lips curved into a gentle smile as she gave a small nod. "I would really like that." Her revenge had reached its conclusion. Nothing remained to keep her tied to Hillview.
"Perfect. I'll handle getting your records moved over," I said, rising from my seat and giving Seth a light kick with my foot. "You're heading to school as well, and you better act right. Got it?"
Seth rubbed his rear end with an exaggerated whine, grabbed his dish, and bolted from the room.
Vera's face lit up with pure joy, her grin stretching from ear to ear.
Sue laughed too, though her attention seemed distant, weighed down by thoughts she kept to herself. The reality was she had zero interest in returning to regular school. What she truly wanted was to study under me, to pick up the practical abilities she'd witnessed me demonstrate.
