Irina's POV
I was hell-bent on destroying the Cross family completely. With all the evidence I'd collected, I dialed Flynn. "Bundle everything together and ship it to the Anastasia Police Department. Make sure they nail them with every charge possible."
"Got it, boss. This is exactly my kind of fun," Flynn replied, excitement buzzing through his voice. The man genuinely fed off mayhem. "But hey, boss? There's something else I need to tell you." His usual confidence wavered, replaced by unusual uncertainty.
"Out with it," I snapped, irritation creeping into my voice as I checked the time.
I was behind schedule.
"Gilbert's putting up 3 million. For an investigation into—" Flynn hesitated, struggling to find the right phrasing.
'This guy's got balls,' he thought, 'going after our boss like this.'
"Flynn. Right now." My voice turned razor-sharp.
"He wants us to dig into... you," Flynn finally said.
