♣ CHAPTER 28 ♣
Kate sat on the stool in the kitchen, with a cup of warm mug of tea in her hand. She was just staring blankly at the cupboard, like it will change.
She was lost in thought of how William has been acting towards her and also offering to help her.
"Hmph!" She sigh. "I hope everything just work out well." She muttered to herself.
William stood at the left side of the kitchen door, staring at her. He took a step and another, then he stopped behind her.
"Are you still thinking about it?" He asked, making her to jolted awake from the world of thought.
"No…! I wasn't."
"I'll take that as a yes." He said without looking at her.
She turned. "Why do you have to make everything crooked?"
"I'm not, I'm trying to make everything better. " He spilled.
" You aren't."
"I am…!" He pulled the stool towards him and sit. "You see Kate…" He continued. "This marriage is what we believe that stays only on business, but looking at what your uncle is pulling, this marriage might go more than business."
"Uncle Carlos was just giving me a hard time ever since my parents die, and I don't think I can put up again with his act anymore." Kate confessed.
" Do you really think it's time to give up? Or do you think it's time to let go of all your parents built to some greedy asshole?" William spilled out.
"No… I'm not going to be a loser to one gold digger of a relative." She said, defending her pride.
"That's what I want to hear from you." William said,he stood up and walk towards the door,he stopped and look back. "There's a lot I still wanna hear from you." He said and finally walk away.
Kate grab her phone and dial Tina's number. She answered on the second ring.
"Hey girl! How's everything going over there?" Tina voice sounded cool from the other end.
"Nothing much, lately. Just worried about everything that's been going on in my life."
"Oh… William is over there,you can talk to him." Tina pouted through the phone.
"He's not shaking at all, he's just dormant,I can't see any light coming from him."
"Girl, don't say that. Just take a look at what's been happening since you get married to William. Even though there's been setback, he's still offering an helping hand."
"Do you really think he can change?"
"Just with time,he will!" Tina assured.
"If you say so."
"I have to go. I have a date with Raymond, and it's almost time."
"Ohh… your new boyfriend, Remember you haven't introduced him to me."
"I will when the time comes, bye!" She chuckled.
"Bye!" She hangs up.
In Mr Carlos office,He sit on his chair, swirling around and tapping on the armrest of the chair, like someone expecting a Miracle to happen.
"William thinks he can outsmart me. He didn't know what he's dealing with." He smirked.
Kaden,his assistant walks in.
"Sir this are the documents you asked for." He said, placing the files on the desk.
"Alright! But there's what you are going to do for me."
"What's that, sir?"
"It's just a simple tasks."
"I'm ready to do anything."
A weird smile appears on Mr Carlos face. He lean forward and signal to Kaden to bend close to him and he whispered somethings to his ear.
"Alright sir… It will be done." He bows and leave.
Mr Carlos pick up his phone and dial a number.
"The plan B will proceed soon." He said.
"Noted!" The voice replied boldly.
Mr Carlos placed the phone the desk and lean back into the chair.
"William, just wait for the storm coming."

"Tina, this friend of yours, when are you gonna introduced her to me?" Raymond asked, tucking the strand of hair that falls on her face.
"Soon, I'll introduced her to you soon." She pouted. "Um… But why are you so eager to meet my friend?"
Raymond smiled gracefully.
"Nothing,I just wanted to know what she looks like." His eyes locked with hers. "You said, she's been going through alot lately and you keep on helping her anytime she gives you a call."
"Look Ray, Kate is someone that is facing slot of trials and challenges and she's alone in a world of isolation and ruthless elites."
"Poor thing, never known she's going through alot."
"So , I'll introduce her when the time is right, when everything is normal."
"Take your time in helping her, but don't forget you also own a company."
"I won't." Tina take a sip from her drink. "How's your sister?"
"She's doing good and improving."
"Okay, take care of her. Give her drugs and supplements at the right time."
"I'll do that,my sister is my second mother,I must not allow her to continue in that state."

Kate tossed on the bed and wrap the blanket around her body,she was still thinking about what she can do about her parents company and her greedy uncle.
"Can't sleep?" William asked, walking into the room.
"It's not coming." She pulled herself and sits on the bed ,she sighs.
"Don't force it, you are still thinking about what to do with your uncle."
"I'm still finding it hard to believe that a relative of mine can do something like that." She bites her finger.
"There is nothing that anyone can't do when it comes to money, even if it involves killing, many people are desperate to do it, just for money." He pulled off his tie and loosen his button. He sits beside her on the bed.
"There's a lot that your parents kept from you, before their demise."
She frowned.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Just take a look at what is happening, right now. Your uncle wants your company badly and he's Willing to go extra miles." He paused, scanning her face. "But you have to be careful."
"I am!"
"No you are not," He shook his head. "if you are really careful you should have been in this since you've finished highschool."
"What are you trying to prove?"
"I mean since you study business,you should have respond to your parents company and manage some shares."
"So , what you mean is that my uncle gas been planning something bad, right from the start."
"Not really sure, but I think."
"How much do you know?" Kate asked.
"I said I don't know much." He uttered and lie on the bed, facing the other side.
"You didn't answer my question." Kate states.
"I told you,I don't know much."
"Please…!" Her eyes glistened.
"Just go to bed, Kate. It's late,I don't have the energy to talk anymore."
