Chapter 87 - Chapter 87 0-12-3, Stop right there!

However, upon seeing Arthur, he finally returned to normal, as a human had finally arrived.

"But this human is also extraordinary; he is Arthur, the King from ancient times!"

Kaido muttered in a low voice, a hint of confusion in his tone.

He looked at Arthur's profile, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.

He had never imagined he would encounter so many unfamiliar names in this game, but the stories behind these names piqued his curiosity.

"Alright, I'll choose Arthur." Kaido finally selected Arthur, a hint of helplessness in his voice, but his eyes held a touch of expectation.

"Born of the sword, died by the sword! Is he a great swordsman?" Kaido took a sip of sake. If these stories were true, then they indeed had the right to be called heroes.

Then, comparing himself to them, he suddenly felt utterly ashamed.

"Hmph! What have I been doing all these years? I haven't even achieved the goal of becoming the Pirate King; how disgraceful!" he muttered in a low voice, a hint of self-mockery in his tone.

Kaido narrowed his dragon eyes, staring at the hero selection interface, finding it difficult to choose.

All the colorful avatars looked similar to him.

"Just pick one randomly!" he mumbled, closing his eyes and haphazardly tapping the screen with his thick finger.

When he opened his eyes, a charming woman with revealing clothes and fox ears appeared on the screen—Da Ji!

Kaido's dragon face immediately fell, and two streams of white mist shot from his nostrils: "What… what is this thing?!" He was about to re-select when he glimpsed the skill description.

"Hmm… Charm… Burst damage…" Kaido's dragon whiskers twitched, a hint of interest flashing in his eyes, "A bit interesting."

With a system prompt of "All troops attack," he controlled this hero, so drastically different from himself, and swaggered directly towards the mid-lane.

"A mere defense tower…" Kaido snorted disdainfully, looking at the golden light under the enemy tower.

His mind was entirely focused on clues to the Great Treasure, and he controlled Da Ji to charge directly under the tower.

As a result, before he even touched the tower, he was beaten by the tower and scurried away, his screen instantly turning gray.

"What?!" Kaido suddenly sprang up from his throne, his sake gourd knocked to the ground.

He glared at the revive countdown, his dragon scales bristling with anger: "I walk sideways in the New World, and in this broken game, I was actually killed by a tower?!"

After reviving, Kaido finally learned his lesson. He carefully cleared minion waves, accumulated gold, and bought equipment according to the system prompts.

When he toppled the first defense tower, he triumphantly took a swig of sake: "Ugh-gah-gah-gah… Now that's more like it!"

However, good times didn't last long.

Just as he was attacking the second tower, three enemy heroes suddenly sprang out of the bush, instantly surrounding him.

"Bastards!" Kaido frantically pressed skills, but Da Ji's petite body still fell under a flurry of blades. The screen turned gray again, and the revive time became longer.

"I'm furious!!!" Kaido's roar shook the great hall, causing dust to fall.

He roared at his phone: "You four idiots! Come help!" Unfortunately, those four AI teammates continued to do as they pleased, completely ignoring his commands.

After a bitter struggle, when the large characters "Victory" finally appeared on the screen, Kaido let out a long sigh of relief, collapsing onto his throne.

That feeling of exhilaration even diluted his obsession with the Great Treasure.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead and muttered, staring at the battle results panel: "One more game… This time, I'm definitely getting MVP!"

Time flew by, and it was already late at night in the blink of an eye.

Inside the Onigashima great hall, Kaido was completely immersed in the world of honor of kings, even leaving the meals brought by his subordinates untouched.

His massive body was curled up on the throne, his eyes fixed on the phone screen, his fingers clumsily but persistently swiping across the screen.

"Hahahaha! Three consecutive wins!" Kaido suddenly burst into laughter, shaking with excitement.

The golden "MVP" symbol on the screen made him incredibly proud, "These useless teammates, it was all thanks to me carrying them!"

Still not satisfied, he started another game.

This time, he chose the majestic Arthur, feeling that this hero finally suited his status.

At the start of the game, he hummed a little tune while leisurely clearing minion waves in the clash lane, his dragon tail unconsciously swaying to the rhythm.

Suddenly,

Four enemy heroes burst out of the bush, their skills pouring down like a torrential rain.

Before Kaido could react, his screen turned gray.

"What?!" Kaido's dragon eyes widened, and two plumes of white smoke shot from his nostrils.

He stared intently at the kill replay, watching his Arthur being ganged up on and killed, his dragon scales bristling one by one.

The rest of the match completely changed. Any notions of pushing towers or victory conditions were thrown to the wind.

Kaido searched the entire map for those four ambushers, attacking anyone he saw.

"Stop right there!" he roared at his phone, his fingers thumping against the screen.

Unfortunately, this reckless behavior caused his economy to fall further and further behind.

By the time the enemy destroyed the crystal, Kaido's battle record had become an ugly 0-12-3.

The moment the two blood-red characters "Defeat" popped up, Kaido exploded in rage.

"You scoundrels!!!" He slammed his phone onto the ground, with such force that the floor cracked in a spiderweb pattern.

But that damned phone was perfectly intact, its screen still lit with the "Play Again" button.

Kaido grabbed his Hassaikai and began smashing the phone on the ground.

"Clang! Clang!" The sound of metal colliding echoed through the great hall, sparks flying, but the phone didn't even get a scratch.

"Ugh-gah-gah-gah… Very good!" Kaido laughed in fury, his entire body covered in dragon scales.

He suddenly transformed into a gigantic blue dragon, sending the phone flying into the air with a flick of his tail, then opened his gaping maw: "Heat Breath!!!" The scorching dragon breath illuminated the night sky as if it were day.

The phone tumbled up and down in the pillar of fire, yet remained completely unharmed.

After venting, Kaido transformed back into his human form, landing on the ground, panting.

He picked up the phone that had rolled to his feet, finding it at 100% integrity and 100% battery. This inexplicably calmed his anger, and he even began to admire the phone's durability.

"Hmph, I'll deal with you all tomorrow." He mumbled, tucking the phone into his belt, and staggered towards the wine cellar.

Outside the great hall, King and Queen exchanged glances, completely bewildered as to why their boss was breathing fire at the sky tonight.

They stood in the shadows of the great hall, watching Kaido's angry yet somewhat comical figure, their hearts filled with confusion.

"King, what's wrong with the boss?" Queen asked in a low voice, a hint of bewilderment in his tone.

"I don't know. He's been playing on his phone all day; I really don't know what's so good about those videos."

King shook his head. He had been busy with various things all day and hadn't had time to look at his phone, nor was he interested in the videos and beautiful women on it, so he hadn't paid any attention.
