Arlene's POV
I stand frozen at the bottom of the stairs, completely stunned by what I see before me. All I can manage is to stare up at Warner because what the hell is happening right now? Never in all my years of being utterly captivated by this man did I think he could get any more attractive than he already was, but here we are. Lately, I find myself just watching him, and I know he notices because that smug smile never leaves his face. Cocky bastard.
"Alright, option two it is," he grins down at me.
"No," I stop him from descending. "Just give me a moment."
I take a deep breath and continue staring up at him, absorbing every detail of this scene. When I finally manage to calm my racing heart, I climb the steps slowly, one at a time. When I reach him and we're standing face to face, he smiles and extends the bouquet of roses toward me.
"Hello," he says quietly.
"Hi," I accept the flowers. "These are gorgeous. Thank you."
"You're very welcome. Are you hungry?"
