Chapter 3 - The Brother Suns-Toutanglom's legendarium

Before the world became what it is today, there was only darkness. Not a single light existed on the surface, and because of that, no living being could survive. Then one day, three brothers arrived from a very distant place, and with them, light was brought into the world. The darkness, which once believed it would last forever, was driven away and replaced by a bright, life-filled radiance. These brothers were the suns. With their light, existence began to emerge and multiply.

But one day, the three brothers fell into disagreement—a conflict that had been growing since the moment they arrived. The eldest wished to continue bringing life to the world, believing it to be his duty. The middle brother disagreed, insisting they deserved more in return for everything they had done. He no longer wanted to shine for nothing. The youngest had no strong beliefs of his own; he simply followed whichever brother spoke the loudest.

Their dispute lasted for years with no sign of resolution. Eventually, exhausted by the stubbornness of his brothers, the eldest decided to leave for a while, promising he would return. After he departed, the middle brother began plotting to claim the sky for himself. With him as the only sun, he would rule and force all living beings to obey. He shared his plan with the youngest, tempting him with sweet promises. The youngest, easily persuaded, agreed without a second thought.

When the eldest finally returned, the treacherous middle brother killed him without hesitation, and the youngest helped as planned. The eldest did not fight back. He simply fell slowly to the world below, his light fading away. The youngest, caught off guard while celebrating, was then killed as well by the middle brother. With the others gone, the middle brother became the one true sun ruling the sky. His dominance was absolute.

Under his rule, those who wanted his light were forced to pay tribute and worship him forever. Each year, he demanded more and more—until it became impossible to satisfy his greed. When a civilization failed to meet his demands, he would extinguish his light and destroy them. One by one, countless civilizations were wiped out, leaving only a few survivors who still managed to pay what he asked. Though they hated him, they had no choice. Without the sun, they had nothing.

Then, out of boredom and cruelty, the sun decided to abandon the world altogether—but not before forcing one final tribute. He demanded a vast statue of himself made entirely from the bones of the ancestors of the surviving civilizations. He commanded them to gather every star in the universe and seal them inside a bottle, and to collect all the tears ever shed by those who opposed him. The civilizations knew they were doomed, but there was nothing they could do but wait for the end.

Just as the middle brother prepared to leave forever, a light appeared—not from him, but from below. It grew brighter with every moment until a new sun was born—then another. Two suns rose from the world. Enraged and threatened, the middle sun rushed toward them, but one of the new suns seized him by the throat. Overpowered and unable to breathe, the middle sun died and fell to the world below.

The new suns took their place in the sky, asking for nothing in return, and a new era began. These suns had risen from the grave of the eldest. Knowing his brothers would betray him, he had prepared a cycle of rebirth. The grave of the middle sun became a dead land where no life could exist. And the grave of the youngest sun... was empty.
