Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Excuse Me, That’s My Kyogre

"Kyogre—"

Caitlin looked thoughtful. She'd researched Hoenn Region's ancient legends herself.

And Damian had told her about the Draconid people's history. Those two world‑ending catastrophes that had driven humans to despair had both been caused by Kyogre and Groudon!

"Kyogre, one of the so‑called super‑ancient Pokémon."

With Armored Mewtwo's psychic power, Damian lifted everyone into the air and flew toward the location Domino had mentioned.

At the same time, he started filling them in on Kyogre.

"In Hoenn's legends, Kyogre is the embodiment of the sea. It controls water, and in myth it's said to drown the land in torrential rain and raging tsunamis to expand the oceans."

Damian spoke slowly.

"And Kyogre can undergo Primal Reversion to unleash its true power. In that state, Primal Kyogre vents the overflowing energy flooding its body—supposedly, just by swimming one lap, it can massively expand the world's seas."

"A Primal Kyogre that's survived from the super‑ancient era might as well be the deep‑sea king ruling every ocean."

Damian recalled the intel on Kyogre.

That was exactly why Team Aqua was so obsessed with pursuing Kyogre—because according to the legends, Kyogre could expand the sea.

Wasn't that their dream?

But in reality, those legends were never written like some literal manual—or more accurately, Archie had just slapped his own imagined version on top of Kyogre.

In his dreams, Kyogre could expand the oceans and flood the world with sea.

Reality?

In the games, the Primal Kyogre he woke unleashed Primordial Sea, calling stormwinds and endless, violent rain. It looked like the whole world was going to drown.

If no one stopped Primal Kyogre, the world of his dreams would just turn into a global ocean.

Anyone who actually understood the true history of the super‑ancient legends knew how dangerous Kyogre and Groudon were.

In their pursuit of natural energy, those two super‑ancient legends had fought to the death, completely ignoring whether Hoenn survived or not. If Rayquaza hadn't stopped them, Hoenn?

It would've been gone over two thousand years ago.

Counting on Kyogre and Groudon to help you "realize your dream"? Keep dreaming.

Strictly speaking, Kyogre and Groudon weren't exactly chaotic‑evil, sure—but they were absolutely chaotic‑neutral at best.

Just like Zinnia.

As a Draconid, Zinnia knew very well what would happen if Groudon and Kyogre were awakened—

And she still wanted to do it.

Because as long as Kyogre and Groudon woke and clashed again, replaying the catastrophe of history, she could summon Rayquaza. Rayquaza had to come.

That way, Zinnia's goal would be achieved.

As for everything that would happen in between from Kyogre and Groudon's battle? Zinnia didn't care.

"You really do know super‑ancient Legendary Pokémon inside and out."

Zinnia shot Damian a strange look. She honestly had no idea where he'd gotten all that info.

"I just liked reading as a kid, that's all. So I know a little bit about the Legendary Pokémon from each region." Damian answered modestly.

"Deep‑sea king… that Kyogre's gotta be really strong then, Lord Damian. Compared to Alola's Legendaries, how does it stack up?"

Gladion thought for a moment and asked, curious.

He really did want to know how his home region's legends measured up to Hoenn's.

"If we're just talking raw power, Lunala and Solgaleo can't compare to Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon."

Damian smiled.

A big bat and a big lion trying to measure up to a Primal that can't even fly and a fat "fish" with a giant head? No chance.

"Across most regions' legends, Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon sit pretty high up the food chain."

"But if we're talking about the hidden one, that's different."

He was referring, of course, to Necrozma.

Solgaleo and Lunala were pretty "mid" as Legendaries went. Necrozma was a whole different story.

Gladion fell into thought.

Zinnia and Courtney, on the other hand, were both secretly delighted. Looked like their home region's legends really were top‑tier.

"What about us Sinnoh folk then?" Caitlin was very curious.

Thanks to Cynthia's love of researching history and Legendary Pokémon, Caitlin had picked up a solid bit of Sinnoh's myths and legends herself.

If she remembered right, Sinnoh's legends revolved around Dialga the time dragon and Palkia the space dragon, right?

"That's not even comparable."

Damian shook his head.

Sinnoh's stuff was real, capital‑G God‑tier myth.

The embodiments of "space," "time," and "antimatter"—that was about as high‑tier as it got.

Wrapped in a tangible psychic barrier from Armored Mewtwo, Damian and the others were fully enclosed as it dove into the ocean and raced forward underwater toward Seafloor Cavern.

With Domino guiding them, Armored Mewtwo flew straight for its destination. After passing through a submerged tunnel, the psychic wall rose up, carrying them to the surface in front of a small island.

"Finally here."

The psychic field faded away. Damian glanced at a submarine parked nearby.

Team Aqua was already here.

"Mewtwo, sense anything?" Damian asked Armored Mewtwo.

As a Psychic‑type legendary, Armored Mewtwo's detection range was insane.

Armored Mewtwo instantly pushed its psychic power outward, enveloping the entire island and probing carefully.

"Down below. There's an extremely powerful source of energy."

Before long, Armored Mewtwo's hoarse Telepathy sounded.

And it's not weaker than Ho‑Oh.

"So it is slumbering here? Interesting." Damian's mouth lifted in a smile.

"Let's go. No idea if Team Aqua's already found Kyogre yet."

Damian took the lead into Seafloor Cavern, with Zinnia and the others naturally following.

The interior of Seafloor Cavern was a confusing maze of rock and tunnels, the kind of place where you could get lost in minutes.

But with Armored Mewtwo leading the way, they reached a massive underground chamber after about twenty minutes.

The cavern was huge and mostly empty, with a small pool of water in its center.

A faint blue glow lit the water.

In the middle of the pool, a gigantic blue Pokémon floated half‑submerged, eyes closed in slumber.

Its overall body was whale‑like, half of it above water. Two massive pectoral fins spread from its sides like wings, and its tail split into four banded lobes.

"As expected—Kyogre!!"

Damian's gaze burned as he stared at the sleeping Pokémon.

This was the super‑ancient Legendary Kyogre.

Sea, land, and sky—the three super‑ancient Legendaries were all monstrously strong Pokémon.

If he could catch one? That'd be heaven.

Caitlin and the others were all staring at the super‑ancient legendary with open awe.

"It's really sleeping deep. We've already walked right up here and it still hasn't shown any sign of waking."

Zinnia walked curiously up to the water's edge. The whole pool gleamed with a faint blue light.

That glow was seeping out from Kyogre's body.

So… did this count as Kyogre's bathwater?

She wondered if any hardcore Kyogre fans would be into that.

They'd probably drink it as holy water or something.

"Without some serious external stimulus, it probably won't wake. With the Blue Orb, though, you could rouse it."

Damian spoke while deep in thought.

He was wrestling with a very serious question.

If he slipped Kyogre into a Poké Ball now and took it away, would that actually count as catching it?

Probably not.

For a Legendary like Kyogre, a Poké Ball's restraints were practically meaningless.

Once it woke up, it could just break the Poké Ball's limits whenever it felt like it.

In reality, Poké Balls weren't nearly as indestructible as in the games—they could definitely be broken.

Suddenly, faint footsteps echoed from the tunnel behind them.

Aside from them, only Archie's crew could be here.

"Didn't expect Archie to be this slow. He's only just finding his way here now."

Damian's lips curled slightly.

The footsteps in the passage grew faster—whoever it was had clearly spotted the glow spilling from the cavern.

Moments later, a burly man in a blue bodysuit burst out of the tunnel entrance, staring in wild joy at Kyogre in the pool.

The crazed light in his eyes was like a guy walking into his bedroom and finding his dream woman already lying on his bed—wearing his favorite kink outfit, no less.

"Found it! Hahahaha~! I finally found you, Kyogre!!"

Archie laughed like a madman, clenching his fists, whole body buzzing with excitement.

He'd found Kyogre.

That meant he was already halfway to his dream, and now he just needed to find the Blue Orb.

"As I thought! It's destiny—you belong to me, Kyogre!!"

Archie grinned wide, his gaze on Kyogre blazing hot.

"Uh, quick interjection—this is my Kyogre. Could you not just narrate whatever you want like I'm not here?"

A young voice cut cleanly into Archie's ears, freezing his exaggerated expression mid‑frame.

Archie turned his head and finally noticed that there were other people standing nearby.

"Who the hell are you?"

Archie was caught off‑guard.

There were other people who'd gotten here first?

He hadn't seen any other submarines.

More figures in blue uniforms came spilling out of the tunnel one after another, led by a tall, voluptuous woman with long black hair.

She was Team Aqua Admin Shelly.

The Team Aqua members immediately formed up at Archie's side, staring warily at Damian's group.

"Courtney?"

Shelly recognized Courtney at a glance.

They'd been old rivals for a long time, after all.

What puzzled Shelly was—why wasn't Courtney wearing Team Magma's uniform, but a black vest instead?

"Ara, ara~ Shelly, long time no see."

Courtney instantly flipped her "personality switch," putting on a sweet smile as she tilted her head, big eyes narrowing cutely as she waved at Shelly.

Back when they'd both been Admins of Team Magma and Team Aqua, they'd clashed and "worked together" more times than she could count.

But today—

Oh yes. Today she was absolutely tying this woman's absurdly sexy figure up in rope, layer after layer!

"So that's how it is. Team Magma's been tailing us?"

Shelly's face darkened.

"Ha~ so it's just Team Magma's trash."

Archie bared his teeth in a vicious grin, rolling his neck before glaring at Damian's group like a hungry wolf.

"If you know what's good for you, go scurry back and tell that scrawny monkey Maxie this—sooner or later, I'm ripping his legs clean off!"

Archie spat the words out with open malice.

He'd been fed up with Maxie for a long time.

But unfortunately, Maxie always ducked him, never willing to take him head‑on.

"I wouldn't mind, honestly—but I've got no idea where Maxie is either, so that's a bit of a problem." Damian shrugged.

"Huh? You're not Team Magma?" Archie frowned, puzzled.

"Nope. Let me introduce myself—I'm Damian, from Team Rocket."

"Team Rocket? The hell is that supposed to be?"

Archie just stared.

He genuinely had no idea who they were. When had Hoenn picked up another new organization?

Shelly's expression, however, changed.

She leaned in close to Archie and whispered a few quick words, then looked back at Courtney in shock.

Why on earth was Courtney mixed up with Team Rocket?

"Ehehe~ can't be helped. Lord Damian captured me, so I had to betray Lord Maxie. I've already decided to entrust the rest of my life to Lord Damian~"

Courtney, noticing Shelly's gaze, giggled in a saccharine voice, cupping her cheek in one tender hand and putting on a shy act.

A faint blush bloomed on her pale face.

Gladion and Zinnia both shot Courtney a wary side‑eye.

There she went again—full yandere mode.

Caitlin's face stayed expressionless, but deep blue light flickered in her eyes. She was this close to losing it.

This little hussy, Courtney!!!

All this time, acting expressionless, calm, and cool—

And this is what you were hiding?

Saying "entrust the rest of my life to Damian" in public, in front of everyone—how do you even say that out loud?!

Unforgivable! She had to keep a closer eye on Courtney from now on.

Absolutely no sneaking into Damian's room allowed!!!
