Chapter 274 - The Verdant Plains and the Sacred Lake

Even though it seemed sudden, Goddess Nirfelia's words just now did not cause Kazien, Alvin, Allen, and Arken to feel panicked. They were able to quickly accept the situation.

Ultimately, the four of them merely nodded slowly, fully understanding and accepting the emergency reasons behind the forced summoning of their souls to the divine realm.

Seeing the calmness displayed by the four youths before her, Goddess Nirfelia carved a faint smile. The Creator looked at them with a gaze full of boundless compassion and wisdom.

"If there is anything still weighing on your minds that you wish to ask me, please speak without hesitation." the Goddess said, opening the floor for dialogue.

Even though the tone of her voice sounded very gentle like a whisper of the wind, the divine aura radiating from her existence felt incredibly strong and absolute in the eyes of Kazien and his three spouses.

"Even though as the Creator I already know every form of question and anxiety you wish to express..." Goddess Nirfelia continued, dimming the radiant light from her wings so they would feel more comfortable, "...but I will still allow and listen to you speak directly."

Receiving permission from the Supreme Creator, Kazien took the initiative. He took one step forward, bowed his head slightly as a sign of respect, and then voiced what was currently his highest priority.

"Forgive me for my presumption in asking, Goddess Nirfelia." Kazien said politely. "But, could You explain in more detail, exactly what kind of training program will the four of us undergo in this place?"

"Of course, training focused on strengthening the magic and essential physical endurance of the four of you, Kazien." answered Goddess Nirfelia with a soothing, motherly tone. "Besides that, the most important point is, while your souls are here, the four of you must absorb and familiarize yourselves with divine power. You must integrate it with your magic power, because only with attacks containing divine essence will you be able to injure Lunarias's true physical body."

Hearing that explanation, Alvin narrowed his eyes, sensing a strange inconsistency.

"Forgive me, Goddess Nirfelia... if this training is only intended for our husband, Kazien, who will be the spearhead of the battle later, I can still understand." Alvin chimed in with a puzzled expression. "But... why were the souls of the three of us also pulled and required to train here? Isn't the three of us have already become immortal beings possessing absolute immortality? We cannot age, and we cannot die even if our physical bodies are blown to pieces on the battlefield."

The logical explanation from the High Elf was met with a gentle gaze from the Goddess.

"That is exactly where the biggest problem lies, Alvin." Goddess Nirfelia answered softly, yet now tinged with an undeniable tone of firmness. "The absolute immortality you gained from binding a contract of Eternity with Kazien is indeed incredibly strong when facing fellow humans or monsters."

The Goddess paused her words, letting the weight of the following sentence sink in. "However, if you stand face-to-face directly with Lunarias... that immortality will be entirely useless. As an Evil God entity, Lunarias possesses the authority to sever the concept of life. He can bypass that law of immortality and still be able to kill the three of you and also kill Kazien permanently if hit by a fatal attack. And Kazien already knew about that."

The absolute truth that they could still be met by absolute death in the presence of the Evil God successfully made the eyes of Alvin, Allen, and Arken widen in shock. Their hearts felt as if they stopped beating.

They simultaneously turned their heads and stared at their husband's back.

Kazien, who had known everything all along, had apparently never said anything to them about that risk of death.

Alvin stepped closer, pulling his husband's arm so he would turn to face him. He looked at Kazien's face with a gaze demanding both explanation and honesty.

"My Dear... why did you never say something this important to the three of us?" asked Alvin, his voice trembling slightly, holding back a surge of emotions. "Why did you keep the fact that we can all still be killed in the battle later a secret?"

Receiving the gaze and question demanding honesty from his first spouse, Kazien let out a long sigh. He had no other choice but to speak the truth as it was before them.

"Because I know and understand the personalities of the three of you very well." Kazien answered honestly, his pair of sapphire blue eyes returning Alvin's gaze with deep regret. "I just didn't want to make the three of you worry about me. If I had told you this fact from the beginning, it would only burden your minds every day and perhaps I would lose the sincere smiles that I always want to see on the faces of the three of you."

Hearing that confession based on their husband's excessive love and protectiveness, Alvin, Allen, and Arken were left speechless. The three of them could only let out a long sigh almost simultaneously. They were annoyed because they had been lied to, yet at the same time, they could not deny or blame the reason behind that silent action.

Goddess Nirfelia quickly took the initiative so the atmosphere would not become awkward.

"Alright, let us save this little debate for later. Now, please follow me! I will directly take you and show you the place where you will be training." Goddess Nirfelia invited, diverting the four youths' attention with a tone that had turned cheerful again.

Hearing the Goddess's invitation, Kazien and his three spouses immediately ended their conversation and nodded obediently.

With Goddess Nirfelia leading the way, the four of them walked side-by-side behind the Goddess, passing through a giant gate of the building that stood so majestically before them.

As they stepped inside, an expanse of heavenly architecture immediately welcomed their arrival.

They were inside a vast hallway room, with a ceiling height that seemed to pierce the firmament. The floor they stepped on was not made of ordinary marble or ceramic, but rather layered with pure gold and silver that gleamed very softly. Every detail of its carvings and architecture truly spoiled the eyes, radiating a perfect aesthetic.

All the beauty within that building clearly far surpassed the beauty and value of the gold and silver they had ever seen in the world where they currently lived.

Whether it was Kazien, Alvin, Allen, or Arken, not a single one of them made a sound. They felt poor in vocabulary, for not a single word from human civilization was worthy enough to describe the absolute beauty stretching before them.

Not long after walking down that long hallway, Goddess Nirfelia guided them through a boundary in the form of a blinding curtain of light.

As soon as their sense of sight readapted, the scenery around them had drastically changed. That hallway clad in gold and silver had vanished.

Now, they stood in a remarkably vast open nature area. As far as the eye could see, there was only an expanse of highly fertile and lush green meadows. Right in the middle of that meadow, stretched a crystal lake with incredibly clear water.

The surface of the lake water sparkled very beautifully like scattered jewels, reflecting the glorious light from the sky above. But what amazed them was that the light illuminating this dimension did not come from a sun, but rather from the universe's holy energy that was spread evenly in the air.

Wow! This is so cool! Allen praised in his heart, his purple eyes widening in awe sweeping his surroundings. This place is truly very beautiful and peaceful. This is the first time in my entire life I've seen a scenery of a place this beautiful. Even the most beautiful natural scenery that ever existed in the human world we live in is nothing compared to the beauty of this place.

Walking in front of them, Goddess Nirfelia carved a very gentle smile as her mind-reading ability caught the honest praise echoing from the heart of that purple-haired youth.

The Goddess's steps finally stopped right at the edge of the crystal lake. She turned around gracefully and looked at the faces of Kazien and his three spouses attentively.

"We have arrived!" said the Goddess. She then pointed toward the sparkling water surface. "As a first step, I want you to drink the water from this lake first to cleanse your magic circuits, as well as to begin absorbing the pure divine power of the divine realm."

Goddess Nirfelia smiled suggestively, placing emphasis on the heavy task awaiting them. "Do it now! Because right after your souls adapt to that water, the training for the four of you will immediately begin."
