"Excellent! Thrilling matches have unfolded, but everything must come to an end, and that end is nearly upon us!" announced Present Mic.
"This next fight promises a lot!"
"From Class A, Todoroki Shoto!" The crowd erupted upon hearing the name of the dual-haired student.
"And from the General Studies course. A student who has surprised us all with his impressive power and strength. Yoru Shirayuki!"
The crowd roared even louder as they saw a young man with white hair and blue eyes advancing from the opposite corner, his face as calm as an ice floe.
The heroes who had been observing the matches paid closer attention to this fight.
---
I observed Todoroki. We were about 15 meters apart from each other.
'He'll start with ice,' I thought, sensing the change in temperature.
When Midnight gave the signal to start, Todoroki launched a path full of ice spikes in my direction. It seemed he decided to go all out from the beginning.
Watching the icy path extend, I stretched out my hand, recreating his attack and causing both to collide and shatter from the pressure.
A cold air rose throughout the ring.
Todoroki prepared another similar attack.
Creating an ice platform,I jumped, forming a large sphere of ice that descended upon the ring.
Todoroki's eyes widened at the sight of the large ice sphere. Using his quirk, he created a huge ice spike that impacted the sphere, breaking it into pieces.
From the ice fragments, I created several ice bars against the dual-haired boy.
Todoroki froze the ground beneath his feet, beginning to dodge the ice bars.
Landing on the ground, Todoroki appeared, launching an axe kick which I blocked. He tried to freeze me, but it was useless.
I was ice personified. Instead of being frozen, Todoroki slowly began to freeze himself.
His face frowned as he backed away, his body trembling, unable to withstand the low temperatures.
I watched as the dual-haired boy shivered. My body began to manifest frost while the temperature dropped, similar to when I fought Bakugo.
A freezing breath escaped my lips as I exhaled.
Taking a step, a large amount of ice was launched at Todoroki, who immediately became alert. He performed the same attack, causing both to collide.
Using that distraction, I raised my hand, beginning to surround it with ice, creating a giant's arm.
Swinging my arm down, Todoroki barely managed to avoid it by jumping to the side.
The arm disintegrated into chunks of ice. I moved my limb, looking at the dual-haired boy.
"I told you. If you hold back, you won't get anywhere," I said, looking at the dual-haired boy who could barely move from the cold.
"Do you prefer to freeze to death rather than use something that is rightfully yours?" I asked, launching several ice bars at Todoroki, who created an ice barrier.
"You can use your left side. Don't you think you're being insensitive to the feelings of those who fought today? Everyone's goal was the top. They fought with everything they had, and you're only giving half? Don't be ridiculous," I said with an angry face.
I kept pushing Todoroki, hitting him again and again.
Finally, after landing a rather strong blow that sent him sliding across the ground, I felt the temperature begin to rise.
"Finally," I said, seeing him use his fire side.
Giving a smile, I created a large ice statue of All Might, which I manipulated to advance and throw a punch.
Todoroki used his fire and ice quirks simultaneously; applying heat to the cold air caused it to expand like an explosion.
A powerful wave of wind was felt throughout the stadium. As the steam cleared, it showed Todoroki was outside the ring.
Meanwhile, in the center, I stood with my feet planted firmly by the ice. The ice statue of All Might had burst into pieces, as being so large, it didn't possess the hardness I wanted.
"And so, the tournament comes to an end! The champion of this year's first-year Sports Festival is Yoru Shirayuki from General Studies!"
---
After winning, there was a break of about 20 minutes while they set up the podium for the top three.
I was in first place, Todoroki in second, and Bakugo in third because Ida had a family matter, much to the annoyance of the ash-blond boy, who was muzzled as a replacement.
From above, I looked at Midnight with a small, goofy smile on my face.
Finally, All Might arrived and handed out the medals.
After a motivational speech, I returned to the General Studies classroom, where I was congratulated by all my classmates for winning the festival.
After a few words from the sensei, I was free to leave, which I did.
---
Once I got home, my mother hugged me tightly.
"Mom, you're squeezing the air out of me," I said breathlessly.
"I saw everything, you were incredible, Yoru. Come on, today I'm making your favorite food to celebrate," said Alice.
I gave a happy smile.
"Of course."
"By the way, I recorded everything in the highest quality."
"Really!?"
"Of course,"she responded with an air of confidence. "Your mom always creates important memories."
A bead of sweat rolled down my forehead at this.
After dinner, my mother started to show the recording from the beginning of the festival.
It was a bit strange to see myself and my actions during the competition, but I was satisfied. You could simply say I had been the star of the festival.
It was the first time someone from outside the Support or Hero courses had won the festival in such a way as I did.
After watching the recording, I decided to go to sleep, and I planned to make the most of it—after all, I had two days off.
Lying in my bed, I looked at the ceiling of my room.
'I'll have to devise a plan to save Eri from Overhaul's hands,' I thought, frowning.
I was in General Studies, so I couldn't disappear for a whole week as it would be noticed quickly, and I doubted I would be moved to the hero class soon.
"I'll leave it for tomorrow," I murmured, closing my eyes and beginning to sleep deeply.
