Chapter 25 - Chapter 28

I was surprised that Laura Lang didn't call the cops at first, then I realized that she would be the most suspicious person in her husband's sudden disappearance.

Plus, there was no easily noticeable evidence. I broke into their place several more times to try and remove all the evidence I left behind, nothing really pointing towards me specifically, but I'm talking about pieces of brain matter and not-quite vaporized bone residue. I was really thorough.

As for the body and the clothes he was wearing? I was way too sloppy. After my second and more serious bout of post-nut clarity, also hunting down and eliminating my escaped ejaculate, I decided to deal with the corpse more seriously. Let's be honest, the police are never gonna find anything. Lex Luthor would scold me for being careless, but he wouldn't really care one way or the other about me killing some dude by accident.

To be totally honest, my biggest concern is Batman. Nobody else would actually care that much. Only Batman would be quite that autistic. Batman didn't even know me, yet. But he would know me sooner or later and I didn't wanna have to deal with his self-righteous bullshit if I could avoid it.

Plus, by destroying the evidence of Lewis Lang's death, then I could prevent Laura and Lana to a certain extent. I did feel kinda bad about killing the girl's father. Regardless of whether he was biological or not, he raised the girl and she probably loved him. Didn't want a potential Witch to have a grudge against me…

At least her father didn't haunt me like Lena's Mom back then. Not sure whether it was Lana's mother or father who had magical ancestry though. Either way, I practiced my heat-vision and control by finding and annihilating the guy's clothes and what was left of his biological tissues. The impact splattered his whole body across the frozen lake. Fish, crabs and other creatures in the lake would take care of a lot of the biological tissues. The shattered bones would need my personal attention to destroy. Same with the pieces of clothing.

It took what felt like days, but the sun still hadn't come up yet by the time I was finished. Then I sat on Lana's roof and sighed, listening to the hysterically crying little girl being comforted by her surprisingly calm mother.

"Lana, listen to me." Once the girl finally calmed down, her mother told her seriously, "Everything you saw tonight… You have to pretend like it never happened. We don't know what happened to your father."

"He's dead! A monster came and killed him, then ate him!" Lana wasn't exactly wrong in a sense.

"Lana, promise me. You can't tell anyone about any of this." Hearing her mother say that, I looked down through the house and saw the two of them on a large bed. They weren't naked anymore, obviously.

Wearing some sweatpants and sweatshirts. The woman was holding her daughter's face and her own expression was warped by the damage her husband had done earlier in the night, "Lana, look at me."

"I-I'm looking! Mommy, is it true that Daddy isn't my real Daddy?" The little girl changed the subject.

"Yes." Laura explained, "Your Daddy and I were broken up for a few years, then we got back together. But I wasn't really sure whether he was your father or not."

"Is that why Daddy hated me? Because he always thought I wasn't his real daughter?"

"Lana, your father was an asshole. Look what he did to my face!" The woman was obviously very angry, though I don't blame her, "If that monster didn't kill him, he would have killed me first!"

*Sniffle~!* The little girl hugged her mother, "I'm sorry Mommy, I'm sorry for making the monster kill Daddy!"

"Lana, you didn't do anything. And your Daddy didn't die. He just disappeared. Nobody knows what happened to him. Neither do we. So… Never tell anyone about this, okay?"

"Mnn-hmnn…" She nodded against her mother's chest and I pulled my vision back. Breathing out a long, hot, frosty sigh, I was honestly kinda relieved. I mean, they'd both probably need therapy in the future, but if I didn't kill the bastard, he might have killed them both.

I'm not Batman. I'm not even Superman, yet.

I probably wouldn't have killed the dude. Simply because I didn't have enough information, I didn't know enough about him or their situation. I still don't. But I also don't really care enough to find out more.

Do I know anything about the bastards that kidnapped Lena back then? The ones I killed… Nope. No fucking clue who they were. I never even saw their faces. Amanda Waller however, the one with plot armor out of the group… Yeah, I know who she is, now. I didn't 100% recognize her back then. Had to create an image of her face based on my memory and then use facial recognition software to scan through government databases of personnel to figure out who she was… With the help of Lex and Lena, obviously.

Amanda Waller was pretty famous as an antagonist for the most part. A scummy government agent who eventually was put in charge of either Cadmus or A.R.G.U.S. depending on the timeline. Usually related to the Suicide Squad, or Taskforce X. Not sure whether she'll still rise that high in the ranks after fucking up that badly with Lena.

Then again, it's the government. Most of the people in high positions have committed way worse fuck ups on the regular. Plus, she wasn't the leader of the operation. Knowing Lex, those higher ups are likely dead or replaced by his own people by now. So maybe Amanda was doing pretty well?

Plot won't save her next time though. Okay, I'm not gonna jinx myself. Plot can save or destroy anyone or anything in this fucking multiverse. Including the multiverse itself.

I hopped up off the roof gently and landed on the snowy ground with my bare feet. I felt so insanely light. It was honestly unreal. I've been a Kryptonian for 9 years now but it's only getting more and more ridiculous.

*Wosh~!* I was suddenly up in the sky. Hundreds of meters were nothing to me. I wanted to fly. But I just couldn't figure it out yet. So I took a step in the air. I couldn't figure out how to do it quietly, so it probably sounded like a thunder crack as I shot higher up into the sky. Hundreds of meters higher, still less than a kilometer from the surface.

Another step and then another.

Until I passed through the thick clouds and could see the starry sky.
