whilst alexander was on his way to the Briar mansion, the oldest daughter in law of the briar's was biting her nails and pacing, the hallway of the security building, eli had not yet returned and the driver was missing as well, did that seduce the driver to run away. she cursed eli in her head.
the second head of the briar family state fuming his in the living room when alexander entered the household, marius never wanted the hayes to know that eli was missing, everything must be perfect in the eyes of the world was his mantra, but everything seemed to be going downwards, the media had already hyped up the marriage calling it the marriage of the century driven by their public relations team of course, he had done this so that the hayes wouldn't back off from the marriage, but he'd started to regret his decisions. the chairman was still not aware of the disappearance, and he wanted to keep it that way, but hayes' heir was here already, it won't be long before chairman knows about it.
"mr. briar, we seem to have come at the wrong time, it seems", alexander said as he neared the seating area, the cowering members of the briar family, suddenly stilled and the second daughter in law, lucia, tried to salvage the situation, "hahaha we were just enjoying soom family bonding time, it is already so late in the day, I should get you some tea" with that she paced off into the hallway.
"alexander come son,have a seat", mark the second son of the briar family tried to take over were his wife had left off, "any reason to come here so late? ", he said in a jovial tone as he watch alexander take a seat.
" i am here to give some wedding gifts, to elysian as per the hayes custom" alexander said as he crossed one leg over the other nonchalantly.
"AH i see i see , that's great!" marcuis' eyes lit up, he felt relieved that the other party was not yet aware of elysian's disappearance.
"hmmmm", alexander looks towards the butler standing behind, marcuis, "call elysian down" he commanded. sweat started to drip down the back of all members of briar family how were the supposed to summon someone who wasn't even there! all the youngster said a little prayer for the butler in their hearts.
the butler looked towards maricus for his next command, hoping to not get churned between the friction of these two giant. "young master hayes that-"
"oh dear, you came so far, but unfortunately, eli is out with friends, you know how these youngsters are now a days" said the maricus' wife from the hallway accompanied by lucia.
mark started laughing like a braying donkey, as he said, "yes yes !that's correct! son why don't you leave it with us, well make sure, our dear nephew gets it."
" That, won't be necessary", alexander said, as he got up to leave.
assistant Oh was puzzled by his boss's actions, usually if anyone decided to lie to him through their teeth, they tongues were plucked off. he really wanted to ask what was wrong, was the boss scheming something, maybe the down fall of the briar family was near? his thoughts wandered to the numerous ways he'd seen his boss destroy his enemies as he watched the cars passby.
