Chapter 2 - 2.Keep Me, My Master

I stood frozen when she turned to leave. No. I saw a chance to live here!

I float to her to stop her. But she walked so fast. If I chase her like this, she may be more scared. And I will lose my last to live. So I slowly followed her.

But I got almost blind because of something more unnatural and sharper than the God of Death's tongue. It was roaring so hard that my chest scrambled.

Why was she standing like a statue before the coming-to-kill metal monster?

It was howling too. And it had wheels? But this girl is standing clueless-ly?

I was sure that this mental monster could murder a human effortlessly.

I fastened my pace of floating and grasped both her shoulders. With much strength I took her with me upwards like the eagle of Vishnu.

The metal monster collided with the walls as it was too big to enter that narrow passage between these human houses. It started to burst with a large flame. Shivers ran through my spine. It could have been this innocent girl. I pulled her close to my chest. She didn't move.

She was unconscious. I carefully landed on a high human house's top. I sat with her in my arms. Her eyelashes were like feathers, and her eyes were like the goddess of wisdom—soft, doe, and delicate. Her lips were glowing; they were the same as lotus petals. Her cheeks were slightly cherubic, giving her the look of a daughter of God.

A flame of desire flared in me. Not lust. But I desire to spend myself at her feet.

She was walking before me like an angry child. We were going to her home. After she made me laugh, cry, and dance, finally she accepted the bracelet. But witnessing her expression, I realized it was going to be rough as hell.

"Well… What is your name?" I raised my eyebrows. My eyes crinkled. I ran and stopped beside her. Matching her walking pace, as she is strictly forbidden to fly anytime.

Yes, it was her first order for me.

"Misa." She roughly said. I whistled a little. She glared at me. I wasn't afraid, but since she was the owner of that bracelet, practically she was my owner too. So I pouted and lowered my head.

"Don't ever make that noise." She used her low voice. This time, I was a little bit scared.

We walked in one of the medium-sized human houses. It was situated at a less chaotic place, but the sound of those creepy metal monsters could be heard. We climbed the narrow stairs. It was not like heaven. It was cheap, dull, and colorless. Like ages of cruelty took its soul.

"Don't make any noise. Other people live here too." She whispers. I didn't utter a word. We passed three doors. The first one was on ground level, the second one was above that, and the third one was on the second. And here we were. It was the highest, which was really less. She opened the door. She moved her hand to tell me, *Come inside.

I did.

She undoes her weird shoes. (Shoes)

I did the same with mine. She turned. And crossed her arms against her chest, "You seem like you're totally unaware of this modern world. Then who gave you this white suit? It's more like a wedding dress." She rolled her eyes.

Yes, it was new to me too. "Well… Goddess gave me this before I came here." I looked at myself.

Her eyes narrowed. "Which goddess?"

I itched my chin. "Well... That's complicated. She is the goddess of mind and every kind of venom and snake. She is known as Isis, Manasa, Janguli Tara, and even more…"

She blinked a few times. "I'm known to Isis… that was related to Queen Cleopatra."

I chuckled, "Oh, that lady was really fun. When I met her, she thought of me as a suitor. That is a long story… Hehe."

She flabbergastedly looked at me. "How old are you?"

"I've seen the fall of Han dynasty."

She blinked more. "Wait. Those stories were written almost five hundred years ago!"

I cleared my throat. "Well, yeah. I'm a bit older."

She sighed, "Sit." And she went through a door. I entered more of her house. It was cozy. On the right side from the entrance door, there were some marbles rectangularly laid; they also had window-like shapes. I understood that maybe she used it for cooking food. Because bowls and knives were on the hanging shelves. If I looked straight, there was a bed with soft pink-colored sheets and a beautiful furry pillow.

In a corner of that room there was a small metal table and books.

I saw a black window-like thing stuck against the wall. I've heard that humans can see the world through this.

My eyes stuck on her bed. I gulped. How would this feel against my body? I rarely got soft beds. Many senior angels punished me before for lying on their bed. But this bed. It was really tempting. I slowly trotted towards the bed like a cat.

I threw my body on it. I almost moaned when I felt the soreness against my back. I grabbed a pillow and hugged it against my chest. I sniffed. It smelled like her. To be honest, her smell was one of the sweetest things ever.

Sensation crawled on my cheeks as those turned pink. Unknowingly my arms around the pillow tightened.

"What happened to you?"

I flinched as she stood before me. Furry clothes around her head. Maybe she bathed. I abruptly stood up. "I... I am sorry, I just got lured by its softness!" I stuttered. I can't be punished at the very first hour. What if she throws me out? Where would I go in this colorless earthland?

She stood stunned. "Why are you panicking?"

I looked up. "I… I lay on your bed… Would you not punish me?"

Amusement flashed in her eyes. "Why?"

"Because in the past many punished me for this habit…" I paused. When I found her laughing. For the first time.

"Who? Gods?" She asked.

I shook my head. "No. They were senior angels."

She nodded mockingly. "What did they do?"

My face washed over by embarrassment, "T... They shut my mouth for weeks."

Her face brightened. "That was the best thing. Wait, can I do that also?"

"NO!" My eyes widened, but I was late. She already wore the bracelet, "Words should not come from your mouth."

And it happened. I couldn't speak now. Even if I tried. I could not. I dug my own grave by giving her that bracelet.

You're too trusting, Jihoon.

That's what the goddess used to say. Misa giggled. "Okay, you can speak now."

I was relieved. But for a few seconds because she reached that cooking place and pulled out a knife. A big knife. "You know, if I research you. That would be phenomenal for the science world, as I'm a science student. It won't be painful, I promise."

I couldn't understand half of her words, but it didn't sound pleasant. "Whoa, whoa. No need for violence, M. Misa." I lifted my hands in surrender and stepped back. Her eyes glimpsed ominously.

Masters can be ruthless.

That's what the teacher of gods told me when I shared about my curse.

My back touched against the wall. "No! M… Misa… No master, please…" But she didn't stop. I jumped in the air and started to float. She looked up. "I was just having fun." Annoyance washed over her. She went to one of her shelves after she put the knife in its respective place. She took out some heavy boxes.

"I just dry-cleaned those. It's my brother's clothes. Go to that bathroom and change into it while I prepare your bed on the floor." She pointed to the door of mmm… bath…bathroom. But my stomach felt down at the mention of the bed on the floor. I pouted. Landed on the floor. Took those modern but soft, less complicated clothes.

When I came out wearing this, she looked up at me and said, "Wow… You look good in t-shirts and sweatpants."

But my eyes fell on the bed on the floor. It was soft as well. She prepared it for me. Gratitude washed through me. "Thank you for the bed, master!" I jumped on that bed. She stepped back as if she flinched. But she didn't say anything. Just stared at me, "I... It's okay. You saved my life. And will save my life. It's okay. I hope you serve better." She tried to sound authoritative.

I smiled. Genuinely.

"I will, master. Always."

The worst curse of my life always brought me into affection, master. The curse was to live as a slave of yours in every life of yours. But soon I started to like it. In this life, it will be the tenth time I am serving you. And maybe. This time I will be fond of you more.
