Chapter 1: Strange
Zein's Point of View.....
"Zein, wake up,"
I shift my position ignoring someone squeezing my cheeks. I almost shout in anger when the jerk grabbed my comforter.
I opened my eyes but I was the one left gaping when I saw who the man with the poker face looking at me was.
Shit! I forgot!
"Psh." His annoyed expression.
"What are you doing here?" I almost covered my face with a pillow so he wouldn't see my appearance.
Damn it! I almost forgot! We are here in the Condo he bought for the two of us. So we don't need to travel for a long time every day since the school we will attend is near here.
""To wake you up." He turned his back on me. "Get dressed and eat breakfast." He said before completely leaving my room.
I quickly went to the mirror to look at my face. OH MY GHAD! I look like I was raped by a monster- Err.
I pouted when I saw the wall clock. It was only six in the morning and our class is at eight. GHAD! I forgot, I am living with the president.
Damn it! It seems my sleep will be ruined every day because I'm with a person where every second is important to him. GREAT! UGH
"Faster!" He shouted outside as if he knew I wasn't moving yet.
I stretched first before getting a towel and entering the bathroom. I closed my eyes at the cold when cold water covered my body.
Today is our first day as a college student and yep, we are in the same school. The course I took was HRM while his was Business Management to help Raze manage the company left by their father.
The President is richer than me and I think, it's bad.
After I dried my hair I went out of the room. I found Ace sitting on the sofa watching cartoons. His eyes landed on me along with a smile on his lips.
"You are more beautiful than the morning,"
I wanted to frown but I couldn't. I smiled at what he said. What an early welcome for me. My annoyance towards him disappeared just because of his smile.
Damn his smile!
"Breakfast is ready," He guided me to the kitchen.
I closed my eyes when I smelled a familiar scent that made my stomach growl.
"Adobo?!" I happily said and immediately sat down.
He served me rice and a dish and I immediately devoured it. I felt his gaze on me but I didn't back down. I'm hungry and I don't have time to be shy.
"Slowly,"
I glanced at him gently chewing his food. I felt shy compared to him. He acts more like a girl than me.
After we ate we went to the sofa and talked about what I should and shouldn't do. Seriously? I am not a kid anymore! In fact, I can already give him a child-Err.
"Here," He handed me the cellphone he bought.
When I saw the casing of it, I felt like being shy. "Don't be shy," He said with a hint of mockery. "You love Dora, right?" He added.
"Yes but... Damn it! You didn't have to buy me a Dora casing!" I shouted which made him laugh.
He waved his cellphone. "I am your boots," He said. His casing was a monkey.
I pouted because didn't he know that was romantic? He didn't let me be alone.
"You are Dora and I am your boots therefore, you are not allowed to go in an adventure without me by your side."
"Fine but, you really look like a monkey."
His eyes narrowed so I know he's serious and has no time to joke around. It's just awkward that I made a joke and I was the only one who laughed. My killjoy boyfriend.
"I am dead serious, Zein."
"All right," I surrendered.
I opened the cellphone he gave me. The wallpaper was still default and there was only one number saved in the phonebook.
Darling: 09*******
"That's my number," He said. "I don't have your number yet." He added which made me turn to him.
I raised an eyebrow at him. Didn't he get it yet?
"Then, save it." I handed him my cellphone but he only looked at it.
He pouted. "Text me," He said. "It has load already." He added.
"All right,"
"It should be I love you."
I laughed and as he said I texted him I love you. His cellphone beeped and he showed me my text.
"I love you, too."
After we cleared things up we went out of the building and headed to the parking lot.
"We'll go home together," He reminded again while driving.
I just nodded and turned on the radio and the song was exactly If you are not the one.
I closed my eyes when the Supremo joined in singing it. All the memories of yesterday seemed to return. It seemed like it all happened just yesterday and it's still fresh to me.
I admit, I miss that place.
"The BM Building is far from the HRM Building!"
"I know,"
"Then, let me be alone. You'll go far!"
He rolled his eyes at me. I just shook my head because he was late. We enjoyed talking so much that we didn't notice the time and it seemed like it was nothing to him.
We stopped walking when a smiling man blocked our way. I don't know but I had a bad feeling about his smile. "You two are late,"
"And we are aware of it," Ace said without enthusiasm.
The man's forehead creased and it was obvious he was annoyed at Ace's behavior but who is he? Why did he block us? What does he need? We are already late and we'll be more late because of him.
"I am Cedric Lastimosa. The President of the Supreme Student Council."
Ace and I still didn't show interest in him. We don't care who he is, even if he is the President of this school.
"Excuse us, my girlfriend is late." Ace pulled me away from President Cedric who was calling us.
"He acts like a trash," He commented.
I couldn't help but laugh because Ace was once a President of an extraordinary school and if you compare him to that guy? That's an insult to Ace Craige.
We stopped at room 321. The door was closed so I knew their class had already started.
"I'm fine now,"
Ace briefly examined me as if scanning every angle of my face. He let out a sigh.
"You are driving me insane," He annoyedly ruffled his hair and I had nothing to do but stare at him.
Sometimes, I really don't understand him-Or should I say, often he is unclear and unreadable.
"You're going to be late,"
"Zein, is it ok if I'll shift-"
"Ace!"
"All right! Just kidding, Darling." I was surprised when he hugged me. "It is just that I am afraid. I'm afraid to be far from you. Sometimes you are impulsive." He said.
I annoyedly pushed him away from me. He laughed.
"Well, see you later." He said,
When he disappeared from my sight I knocked. I wasn't scolded because it was just the first day so I just introduced myself in front before sitting next to Vanessa.
"Why are you only now here?" She asked
"Because we are late." I said without enthusiasm before getting a note and writing.
"Did you and Ace do something?"
I thought about it. "Yes, we ate." I answered
"What did you eat?"
I didn't answer anymore because I know this conversation will lead nowhere. Whatever she's thinking is not true. I know this girl has a dirty mind.
"What is Jerome's course?" I asked.
"Civil Engineer... Like Dave."
I just nodded. "Matt is also BM like Ace," I said.
Mia is in America to study there. She didn't want to because she would be far from us, but she couldn't do anything about it. Dave convinced her and so... Against her will, she left with her parents.
After a few subjects, it was break time. Vanessa said she was going to Jerome, and since there are many cafeterias here, we might not eat together.
I scanned my eyes around and my attention was immediately caught by a poker-faced guy being pestered by a girl.
My eyes narrowed and I quickly approached them. "Is there a problem?" I asked.
Ace quickly approached me and held my hand. I raised an eyebrow at the girl pouting while looking at our clasped hands.
I smirked and linked my arm through Ace's. "What do you need from my boyfriend?" I asked.
I don't know why, but I saw her discreetly roll her eyes when I mentioned that, and swear, I was just holding back my annoyance from hitting this creature.
"Nevermind,"
She turned her back on us and walked away. My cheeks puffed out and I raised an eyebrow at Supremo.
"She's forcing me to join the Dance Club."
"Do you want to?" I asked back.
"No-"
"Then why didn't you shout at her that you don't want to?"
He put his arm around my shoulder. "Don't be jealous. Let's go, I'm hungry." He invited.
I didn't act difficult because I know I wouldn't easily trade Supremo for that one. Eww only. It's like trading gold for mud and yes, I am the gold.
"How's it?" Ace suddenly asked.
I paused from eating to answer. "Nothing special." I replied shortly before continuing my meal.
This University is big, so there are many students.
Just like now, all the seats are occupied.
"Because I was not there,"
I raised an eyebrow at him, but he just returned it with a grin. "Wasn't it?" He even asked.
I just shrugged. This man is really full of himself. Well, a part of it was indeed right. I can't see anything special when we are not together. Err-Is it bad? I hope not.
"Can I?"
We looked at President Cedric who was grinning while holding a tray where his food was placed. There was one more chair next to us.
"No"
"Sure," I cut off Ace who just pouted at me.
He pulled my chair closer to him leaving a wide space between Cedric and I.
"I don't eat people," He said laughing to Ace.
"I know, but I do."
Cedric paused and frowned. I subtly elbowed Ace because he was becoming harsh and I didn't want us to have an enemy right away, and a Student Council President at that.
"Fatty foods huh?" Cedric remarked on Supremo's food.
I didn't say anything because I know that what Ace hates most is when people meddle with him and this guy just- UGH! I did everything so there wouldn't be trouble, but I think this stranger is the one looking for his downfall.
Wrong move, Cedric.
"I am not a goat unlike you, dude."
"I am not a goa-"
"Then, a cow? Sorry, my mistake."
"Ace!" I already held Ace's arm who wasn't even aware that the man in front of us was about to explode in anger.
Supremo put his spoonful of food to my mouth.
"Darling..." I quickly ate it to shut him up.
I heard Cedric clear his throat softly so we looked at him. Only me apparently.
"So, you are?"
"Zein and this is Ace-"
"Her boyfriend." Supremo added as he put his arm around me.
Cedric nodded. I noticed he didn't touch his food anymore. He probably lost his appetite after their argument with Ace.
"Zein? Nice name. Suits you, babe."
Uh oh.
"Are you stupid as f*ck? Haven't you heard her name? It's not a babe and don't call her that way..." Ace's voice had a threatening tone. "I am Ace but when you try to interfere us, you can call me Devil and I'll give you hell." Supremo stood up and pulled me away from there.
I guess studying in this school won't be easy for us, not because of the professors but the students like us. Cedric is number one. I wouldn't blame Supremo if he took out a knife.
But compared to our situation now and our situation before, this is nothing. We will survive this.
It was afternoon but Supremo was still not here. He said we would meet at the waiting shed but he still wasn't here. Only I was here and almost being eaten by mosquitoes.
"Ate..." I looked at the child in front of me.
"What is it?"
"The man said your boyfriend should go home."
My forehead creased at what he said. Supremo wouldn't just leave me, and he wouldn't leave without me. I know that guy but why?
He didn't even text.
"Who said that?" I asked the child.
He pointed to a man wearing a cap. He must have noticed that we were looking at him because he quickly got in his car and sped off.
Weird.

Ace's Point of View....
It's annoying that our professor dismissed us late. Zein is waiting. I almost ran all the way to the waiting shed.
I know she's still waiting because I promised that we would always go home together. If she leaves first, she will wait at the waiting shed, and if it's me, there too.
Their dismissal was earlier because she texted me.
My forehead creased when I noticed no one was there. It's impossible for her to leave because I told her to wait for me.
I decided to wait for a few minutes in case she just went somewhere or bought something, but half an hour passed and she still wasn't here so I decided to call her.
I bit my lip when she didn't answer. I called her several times but there was no answer.
Damn it! She's making me worried.
I quickly ran to the parking lot to get my car. Maybe she went ahead and got bored because I took so long, but I know Zein. She wouldn't do that.
While driving, I couldn't stop thinking of all possibilities. Possibilities that added to the anxiety I was feeling.
I vigorously shook my head.
I just ran up the stairs and didn't bother using the elevator. I was panting when I arrived at our condo.
The lights were on. She's here? I quickly went to the kitchen and found Zein already cooking.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
"I told you to wait for me!" I said somewhat irritated which surprised her because she didn't notice me arriving.
She faced me with a creased eyebrow. "We have an agreement!" I added emphatically.
She raised an eyebrow at me and put her hands on her hips.
She was still holding the ladle in her right hand.
"What are you talking about?! You're the one who sent a message to go home!" She shouted angrily.
"I've been waiting for so long! Where have you been?!" She asked further.
I don't know why I suddenly hugged her. Maybe because I was so worried that I found no one there and she didn't even answer my call.
My hand that I noticed was already clenched trembled.
Who said I went home? Damn it! What now...
"S-Supremo..."
"I love you, Zein."
