Chapter 7 - 7

Something possessed me—otherwise, why would I walk to that woman's room in the middle of the night? But I couldn't stop myself from going there, even if I knew it was wrong.

I stood in front of the room's door, the room the maid told me she was in. I opened it, and a strong wind passed by me, but soon stopped. I stepped inside, but when I looked, the bed was empty.

I felt it.

A cold blade on my neck.

She was behind me.

"Your Highness, to what do I owe this pleasure?" *sarcastic*

Celea said while keeping her sword to his neck.

The king turned around to see her, the sword never leaving his neck, and there she was in all her splendor. She wore an oversized black T-shirt and black, comfy long pants, a messy braid, and a slightly swollen face—proof that she had been sleeping before I came into her room. She looked… perfect. Her figure was illuminated by the full moon's bright light. She was staring at me, demanding an answer as to why I was here.

Why am I here?

Celea's POV

Just what is this idiot doing here at this hour?

He started walking towards me. I pressed my sword deeper against his neck.

Drip.

Blood was dripping from his neck, but he still moved closer to me. I didn't move from my spot. He was now inches away from me.

"If you came looking for a companion to help you through the night, you came to the wrong room. I advise you to leave while I'm still asking nicely."

"Is that so…"

"See you tomorrow, King."

I took my sword away and made space for him to walk to the door. He gave me one last glance and walked away.

"What was that all about…? „

Today is the day of the council. They are not going to accept me easily, but they'll have no choice but to. Sigh. This is going to be a long and tiring day. I already miss my introverted life.

It hasn't even been twenty-four hours since I came here, and I'm already tired. Sigh. I couldn't even sleep after that jerk's surprise visit last night. Since my powers barely work on him, he might try to come again. I don't trust him.

I couldn't sleep at all last night. I kept having unholy thoughts about her. Sigh.

"Your Highness, how can we let that intruder live in the palace?!" (subordinate)

"The same palace that she destroyed half of!" (other subordinate)

How noisy… I wonder how she'll react. Will she run away? Will she be angry?

Bang.

The king was pulled out of his thoughts when she opened the door.

She once again looked like a shadow. I wonder why she covers up like that. Is it because she doesn't want to get involved with me and this place and wants to disappear as if she was never here after all this is over? Is she trying to be just a shadow in my life—a shadow I should forget?

"Oh my, look who decided to come." sarcastic (subordinate)

"Oh, but there seems to be no chair for you." amused (other subordinate)

"You are right, there is no other chair. Then I guess we'll have to do something about it, don't you think?" Celea responded calmly.

These guys are acting like children. Are these really the people ruling this land?

"AAAHHH!" surprised

Boom.

The guy who tried to mock Celea was levitated into the air and then thrown hard against the wall.

"Ah, look at that—a free chair." Celea then proceeded to sit down.

Bang.

The subordinate fell.

"If you still feel like acting like little kids, then I advise you to leave this room and start attending kindergarten, since this is a place where only wise people should sit. Or is your realm ruled by immature little boys?"

Silence.

"That's what I thought. Now, if we've made everything clear, let us start the meeting."

Little smile. She handled the situation better than I expected. I really underestimated her. She'll be of great use in this war… but why do I suddenly feel uneasy about her going to war? I never wanted a mate in the first place…

Three hours later — training ground

Swing. Bang. Swing.

"It's you!" (knight)

"Yeah, that's the guy from yesterday!" (other knight)

"Why the hell are you still here?"

"Hurry, take your swords out!"

Some of the knights transformed into lycans while others pointed their swords at me. I took my sword out to fight back, and in a matter of seconds, the front knights' swords fell to the ground.

"What…?"

"When did you even—?"

"I'm not here to fight you. I'll be your commander from this point on!"

"What nonsense is that?!"

"Yeah, with what qualifications are you saying you'll be our commander?!"

"How can we even trust someone who covers their face?!"

"Yeah, what do you have to hide?!"

Celea climbed onto the large rock next to her and shouted so that everyone could hear her.

"A KNIGHT WHO DISCRIMINATES DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE CALLED A KNIGHT. AND IF WE'RE TALKING ABOUT QUALIFICATIONS, YOU EXPERIENCED MY POWERS FIRSTHAND. I COULD KILL YOU ALL IN A MATTER OF SECONDS, AND EVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ADMIT IT, YOU KNOW DEEP DOWN THAT I'M RIGHT. BUT I'M NOT HERE WITH THE INTENTION OF KILLING YOU—I'M HERE TO TEACH YOU!"

"A WAR IS COMING!"

Murmur.

"AND I'M THE ONE WHO CAN HELP YOU WIN THIS WAR. NOW YOU'RE EITHER AGAINST ME OR WITH ME!"

Murmur.

"Since she is here, that means she was approved by the king."

"Going against her is like having a death wish."

That's what the knights were thinking.
