Chapter 40 - muggle wizard

On September 3rd, the first day of Hogwarts' official school term, the gloomy, rainy day suddenly cleared up.

Albert had just opened his eyes, waking from a deep sleep. He slowly got out of bed, walked barefoot to the window, and opened it to let the cool morning breeze into the room.

Albert's three roommates were still asleep. They had spent the whole night reading the Daily Prophet about the Queer-Earth Games and didn't fall asleep until very late, so Albert didn't plan to wake them up now.

After all, classes don't start until nine o'clock, so getting up now is too cruel for those of them who stay up late.

After a quick wash, Albert glanced at the timetable, checked the books, quills, ink, and parchment in his bag, then slung his bag over his shoulder and went to the Gryffindor common room.

There were already people in the lounge, and they were students from the same year.

"Good morning, Wilson," Albert greeted a girl in the same grade who was flipping through Miranda Goshak's "Standard Spells, Beginner," probably preparing for the first spells class of the morning.

"Good morning…" Shanna Wilson looked a little embarrassed because she didn't know the name of the boy who greeted her, even though she knew he was a freshman in the same year as her.

"Albert Anderson. You can call me Albert." Albert noticed Shanna Wilson's embarrassment and casually introduced himself. He then asked, "Would you like to go to the auditorium for dinner?"

"Oh, okay… okay, Albert!" Shanna stammered, picked up her books, and quickly followed Albert out of the common room.

Throughout the journey, Shanna remained silent, simply following closely behind Albert, seemingly looking around and trying to remember the places she had passed.

Albert noticed Shanna's actions and couldn't help but think to himself, "Could she not know the way?"

That's actually quite possible.

I almost went to the wrong place for my first class in college.

Hogwarts is undoubtedly more complicated, and it's normal for people with a bad sense of direction to get lost.

Just as Albert had predicted, Shanna really didn't know how to get to the auditorium, so she waited in the lounge for the others to go to the auditorium together.

To be honest, Gryffindor students aren't particularly keen on leading the way, and a large portion of the older students actually enjoy watching the freshmen struggle. This bad habit stems from their own past experiences, which have gradually ingrained this perverse pleasure of watching others suffer.

Yesterday, when Albert returned from the kitchen, he saw several upperclassmen watching as freshmen fell into the stairwell trap, then laughing and walking away without any intention of helping.

Of course, these can only be considered special cases!

Most students would be willing to lend a helping hand, at least Hufflepuff students would.

Shanna Wilson looked relieved to have arrived safely at the auditorium.

Albert sat at the Gryffindor table, poured himself a glass of milk, and downed it in one gulp. He looked up and saw Shanna staring at him, her mouth slightly open, as if she wanted to say something.

He asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing, Albert likes to drink milk?" Shanna was trying to communicate with the boy in front of her.

After all, nobody wants to be friendless, and Albert seems like the easy-going type.

"Like it?" Albert shook his head. "I wouldn't say I like it, it's just a habit. I've been drinking it since I was seven, a cup every morning, and it just became a habit."

Shanna opened her mouth, but suddenly didn't know what to say. She actually admired Albert quite a bit; she definitely couldn't have done it herself.

Albert spread jam all over the bread slice and took a big bite, while Shanna across from him was eating a fried egg, the kind of English fried egg that is boiled, peeled, coated in flour, and deep-fried until golden brown.

Okay! Albert thought calling it a golden fried egg would be more appropriate. He himself wasn't interested in this unique British fried egg at all; a regular boiled egg was much better.

After finishing the bread slices in his hand, Albert prepared two more slices of bread, put some vegetable salad on them, and then added some bacon and sausage to make a sandwich.

Of course, there was also a small bowl of corn porridge. The so-called corn porridge is actually corn soup, made by boiling ground corn with water and a little milk.

Compared to Daisy's corn chowder, the corn porridge at school was only so-so. Actually, this wasn't surprising, as Daisy's corn chowder was one of her best dishes.

After breakfast, Shanna and Albert talked about the curse.

"I heard from Angelina that you have mastered many spells, is that true? How did you learn those spells in such a short time?" Shanna spoke slowly, as if carefully considering her words.

"Well… you mainly need to be interested in it first, and then…" Albert thought for a moment and said, "…you also need to spend time studying and practicing."

He believes that interest is very important; only when you are interested will you be willing to spend time and seriously learn a subject.

"Interested?" Shanna asked thoughtfully.

In fact, students like Shanna from Muggle families never imagined they would become wizards or witches. They are still confused about many things, after all, there is so much for Muggle wizards to learn.

Without a doubt, the students from wizarding families were ahead of them.

"Actually, you don't need to worry too much. The difference between them is only a matter of fifty steps and a hundred steps. If you spend more time on the course, you will catch up with them soon." Albert suddenly felt that what he said was a bit ridiculous.

How could he possibly inspire Gryffindor students to love learning?

Not every student is Hermione Granger, and besides, the one who almost got sorted into Ravenclaw.

"The same to you?"

"Of course, what else did you think?" Albert replied matter-of-factly.

However, for some reason, I felt a little guilty saying this. After all, Albert was different from others; he had a skill panel. If he wanted to learn something, he could not only learn it himself but also upgrade his skills through the panel.

If Albert could max out his wizarding bloodline, he would learn magic much faster than anyone else, but he didn't do that, and he didn't even take on the Wizarding Path quest.

Albert was still considering whether to wait until he had upgraded his wizard bloodline before claiming the quest reward, which would undoubtedly be the most cost-effective method.

The problem is that Albert is still struggling with his future career, and he doesn't really want to stay and develop his career in the wizarding world.

If he decides to develop in the Muggle world in the future, he must reserve a large amount of experience and skill points for himself to upgrade various skills in economics later.

Forget it, let's not think about these issues anymore.

Albert shook off these distracting thoughts and slowly flipped through "Selected Nineteenth-Century Spells". He was actually quite satisfied with the current situation. As for the experience and skill points he had stored up, he could use them when needed in the future.
