They stepped into their chambers, the doors clicking shut behind them.
Even though Zarek was exhausted, his body was still built like a mountain. He didn't need help to walk or stand. Yet, Eliora insisted on guiding him. He let her do it, a rare smile touching his lips as he allowed her to take care of him.
He sat on the bed, looking at her with dark eyes. Eliora smiled, giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze before she turned.
Before she could take two steps, he grabbed her wrist. She stopped and looked back.
His grip was not hard, but it was impossible to pull away from. He tugged her gently, pulling her back between his knees.
"Where are you going?" Zarek asked in a low tone.
She looked into his intense eyes, her breath hitching. "I'm going to prepare a bath for you. You need it in your state... after everything you have been through."
Zarek laced his fingers through hers, holding her tight. A glint flickered in the depths of his eyes.
