Evening
On the streets of Liyue Harbor
After finishing their meal, the four strolled leisurely through the streets of Liyue Harbor.
They were walking to digest their food. The wind tonight was particularly strong, and Bonanus found it very comfortable.
"Burp~ Another full and satisfying day." Bosacius let out a satisfied burp as he enjoyed the sea breeze, his eyes half-closed.
He rubbed his round belly with his front right hand. He had eaten a bit too much and his stomach felt a little uncomfortable, but Bosacius didn't mind.
The guy was even reading a book. His front left hand held a thick volume. Bonanus had no idea what he was reading.
Walking while reading. Classic Bosacius.
His back hands were propped behind his head, his expression completely relaxed.
Having four arms sure was convenient. He could do so many things at once. Bonanus silently thought to herself. She wondered what having four arms felt like.
"Alatus and Menogias called you a glutton earlier. I thought they were joking, but it turns out they were right." Bonanus shook her head.
During the meal, Bosacius had wolfed down his food like a starving beast, as if he would starve to death if he waited another second.
"I've seen him eat before. I remember him participating in some mortal event called a 'eating competition.'" Menogias chuckled.
"Yes, I remember too. Bosacius's four arms spun like windmills. Every time they turned, another dish disappeared from the table." Xiao nodded.
This guy actually competed with mortals in that. Xiao wondered what went on in his head.
"Wow, Big Brother Bosacius has really fallen." Bonanus said, surprised. She could already imagine a round, chubby Bosacius.
"Haha, you guys just don't get it." Bosacius said casually, a toothpick dangling from his mouth.
The others shook their heads helplessly. None of them understood Bosacius.
He would only regret it when he got fat. They would let him enjoy himself for now.
"Hey, I've been back for a while and still haven't reported to Rex Lapis. I'm going to head over. See you tomorrow." Bonanus tilted her head.
"Alright. Your big brother is going to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor to play a game of chess with the director."
Bosacius waved casually and walked off toward Wangsheng.
"Big Brother Bosacius! Don't forget the clothes at Wangsheng! And please wear a shirt next time!" Bonanus called out loudly.
Then, as if remembering something, she added,
"Oh, and remember to bring my custom clothes over to Yanfei's place!"
Bonanus hadn't forgotten that among those custom clothes was Xiao's maid outfit.
That was a treasure. She couldn't lose it.
"Don't worry, little sister. Your big brother remembers!" Bosacius turned back with a smile and nodded reassuringly.
After Bosacius left, Menogias stepped forward and patted Bonanus's head gently.
"I'll be going too. I've been studying some new formations lately, so I won't stay."
"Okay, Second Brother. Go ahead." Bonanus smiled.
"Alatus, you should head back too. I'll spend more time with you in a few days. I'm going to see Rex Lapis now." Bonanus turned to Xiao with a smile.
Without waiting for a reply, she leaped onto a rooftop and vanished in an instant.
Watching everyone leave, Xiao let out a quiet breath. He jumped onto a rooftop, sat down, and gazed at the dimming sky.
"The air in Liyue is so comfortable. I never noticed before..." Xiao murmured, his voice relaxed.
...
Yujing Terrace
Outside Yanfei's Residence
"Ping's tea is as delightful as ever."
Zhongli took a sip of his tea. The flavor was excellent. It was slightly bitter at first, but left a subtle sweetness in the throat.
"Of course it is. I've told you to come visit this old woman more often and have some tea." Granny Ping said in her aged, kind voice.
"I have many matters to attend to. When things settle down, I'll invite all the adepti for a proper gathering." Zhongli closed his eyes and set the teacup on the stone table.
"Haha, I know. You're a busy man." Granny Ping shook her head.
"Still, that girl Bonanus should be back by now. I wonder what she's up to." Granny Ping squinted, her tone calm.
"Bonanus was just with the other three Yakshas. She should be here soon."
Zhongli opened his eyes, and just as he did, a familiar blue figure appeared before him.
"Rex Lapis!" Bonanus nodded respectfully toward the two.
"Good. You're back. Rest well for the next few days. Don't worry too much about that matter. Your health comes first." Zhongli said calmly.
"Yes, Rex Lapis." Bonanus nodded. She sensed a hint of fatigue in his voice. Had he been busy lately?
"Sit down. Ping's tea has just been brewed. Drink it while it's warm." Bonanus didn't refuse the invitation. She walked over to Granny Ping and said playfully,
"Hehe, Sister Ping, I'm back! Did you miss me?"
"Haha, of course I did. I'm glad you're finally back. You seem to have recovered well."
Granny Ping chuckled. She took a clean cup from the tea set, filled it, and handed it to Bonanus.
"Thank you, Sister Ping!" Bonanus took the cup and took small sips.
"Anemo Archon must have given you quite a headache." Zhongli said flatly.
"Yes, Rex Lapis. The Anemo Archon kept getting drunk every day. I had to drag him back each time." Bonanus rubbed her head.
"As expected. He hasn't changed." Zhongli shook his head slightly. He could picture exactly how that drunkard looked when he was wasted.
"The Anemo Archon is still as fond of drink as ever." Granny Ping rubbed her chin. Back when the Anemo Archon visited Liyue, he had given Rex Lapis quite a headache.
"Thank you for the tea, Sister Ping. I'll go inside and rest now. I've been feeling a bit tired lately." Bonanus finished her tea and stood up.
"Go ahead. I have some matters to discuss with Ping." Zhongli nodded.
Without another word, Bonanus turned and entered the house.
...
Back in this familiar residence, Bonanus looked around at the unchanged surroundings and stretched deeply. What was Yanfei up to?
Just then, she spotted a familiar girl. It was Yanfei.
Yanfei was standing to the side, reading a thick book with great focus.
As expected of this girl. She was standing while reading.
"So serious."
Bonanus muttered. Yanfei had her back to her, completely unaware.
Her attention seemed entirely on the book. Seeing this, Bonanus felt a mischievous urge.
Yanfei's 'bears' must have grown again by now. Come on, let big sister have a look!
