After breakfast...
Outside Yanfei's residence
"Sister Bonanus, I'm heading back to Wangshu Inn. Remember to rest well for the next few days." Xiao stood before her, speaking seriously.
"I know, I know. You're younger than me. Stop lecturing me!" Bonanus laughed, her paws on her hips. What kind of logic was it for a younger brother to lecture his older sister?
"Just try to behave yourself, Sister Bonanus. With four Yakshas guarding Liyue now, things are much easier. You can rest easy." Xiao shook his head. He wondered if his sister would actually listen. What a headache.
"Alright, consider today a day off for me. Don't worry!" Bonanus patted her chest with her paw, putting on a "I'm a good girl, trust me" expression.
"That's for the best. I'll come back tonight. We need to bring our family back as soon as possible." Xiao nodded.
With that, he vanished in an instant.
"He's really fast." Watching her little brother disappear in a flash, Bonanus shook her head.
She went back inside...
Granny Ping, having finished breakfast, had returned to the courtyard. She sat there with her eyes half-closed, enjoying the gentle breeze.
Yanfei was washing the dishes. She never left them overnight, especially in this heat. They would start to smell.
After cleaning everything, she still had to go to her appointments. She needed to finish quickly.
"Yo, washing dishes?" Bonanus walked up with a smile.
"Yes. Want to help, Sister?" Yanfei smiled back.
Hearing that, the lazy Bonanus instantly became like a sick child. She slumped into a chair, looking half-dead.
It was so typical. If you asked her to hunt monsters, earn karmic debt, or go shopping, she would do it all with endless energy.
But if you asked her to do chores, she would turn into a deflated salted fish.
"Sister Bonanus, you're so lazy!" Yanfei couldn't help but tease, seeing her sister's "I'm so tired, don't bother me" act.
She didn't know what to say.
"Don't even mention it. I didn't sleep at all last night. I'm exhausted." Bonanus said tiredly.
"Fine, I won't ask you to help wash the dishes." Yanfei shook her head. She could hardly believe this woman was one of the five Yakshas.
"Suddenly I'm not so tired anymore." Bonanus sat up straight, stuck out her tongue, and looked mischievous.
"Oh, Sister, I'm heading out for work soon. Later I need to check on some warehouses. If you go shopping, could you pick up some groceries?" Yanfei continued washing the dishes, speaking softly.
"Sure, no problem. I'm great at that. What do you need?" Bonanus said confidently. She might not be good at much, but shopping was her specialty.
"I'll write it down for you. Don't forget." Yanfei smiled.
"Alright. I'll take a nap first. I'll head out after I wake up." Bonanus yawned. Since she couldn't leave Liyue Harbor, she might as well sleep.
Only with enough rest could she have the energy to shop.
"Don't sleep too long, or you'll miss your chance to buy groceries." Yanfei tilted her head. She suddenly felt like maybe she shouldn't have trusted her sister with this task.
"I said I'd do it. Relax!" Bonanus waved casually, yawned again, and headed back to her room without looking back.
She hadn't felt tired before, but now that she had nothing to do, the drowsiness hit her. People naturally relax when they have nothing to do.
She lay back down on the soft bed and felt her eyelids grow heavy. Time to sleep. It was her day off.
...
After a pleasant nap
The midday sun was warm. Bonanus lay in bed, snoring softly, enjoying the sunlight streaming through the window. It felt wonderful.
But that comfort only lasted a few minutes. In an attempt to get more comfortable, she rolled over and fell off the bed.
Yes, you heard that right. She fell off the bed!
Half asleep, Bonanus had tried to change positions.
She didn't realize she was right on the edge of the bed. Hence the comical scene.
Lying on the floor, Bonanus looked around in confusion. Her expression was hilarious—a mix of bewilderment and dopiness.
"Hmm?" Just woken up, her voice sounded soft. She rubbed her hair, staring blankly at the cold floor.
What just happened? Why does my butt hurt so much?
She squinted at the window. A question echoed in her mind. What day is it? Is it tomorrow already? Should I pull for some characters?
Still groggy, she shook her head, stood up, and sat back on the bed.
She propped her chin on one hand, eyes closed, as if deep in thought.
"Oh, right. I was supposed to buy groceries for Yanfei..." She rubbed her eyes. Even though she remembered, she didn't feel like moving.
All she wanted to do was space out. Nothing else. So annoying.
A few minutes passed...
In the bathroom, Bonanus washed her face with a clean cloth. The warm water helped bring her back to her senses.
She put the cloth back, fixed her hair, and walked to the living room.
A note lay on the table. She picked it up slowly. This must be the grocery list Yanfei had left for her.
"That's a lot of stuff..." Bonanus rubbed her head. She really wanted to call Bosacius to be her errand boy. He would be perfect.
But the thought only lasted a moment. She didn't need him!
She had her storage space. A few groceries were nothing.
She changed out of her pajamas and into casual clothes, said hi to Granny Ping in the courtyard, rubbed her sore arms, and left the house.
Looking up at the sky, there was no sign of darkness. It was still early. She didn't need to buy groceries right away.
Too bad no one could shop with her today. Yanfei was working. Xiao was off "working" somewhere else.
As for her big brothers, forget about them. Hu Tao was probably busy selling coffins. No luck there.
She suddenly felt like a lonely old person going shopping without company. She shook her head. She was being too dramatic.
...
Before long, Bonanus found herself near Heyu Tea House. She had no particular reason for coming here. Just wanted to listen to some storytelling or opera.
If she got to hear Ms. Yun perform, that would be amazing. Ms. Yun was famous and beautiful. Bonanus had always wondered what material her stockings were made of.
Wait, that was beside the point!
To be honest, she would love to meet Ms. Yun. She was also curious how the paparazzi would handle her as an adeptus.
Would they make up lies to provoke her, or would they behave? Just thinking about it made her eager.
"Charge!" Bonanus whispered to herself with a grin. She looked around and headed up the stairs without hesitation.
