Chapter 16 - Chapter 016: Encounter

"Is Megumi-senpai's Shinobi blade very special? Why did Orochimaru-sama want to study it?"

Hearing the stories of her predecessors, Shizune became a curious child, constantly asking questions.

In her impression, Megumi-senpai's Shinobi blade, aside from its pure white color and unique shape, wasn't anything special. Why would it be worth researching?

Tsunade explained patiently, "That Shinobi blade has extremely good chakra conductivity, and its material is incredibly tough. Most importantly, it can undergo astonishing transformations! For example, it can disperse into tens of thousands of thin, cherry blossom-colored blades to attack the enemy during a fight, and then return to its original form!"

A very special Shinobi blade, even placed alongside the blades of the Seven Shinobi Swordsmen of the Mist, would be a cut above the rest.

Shizune nodded thoughtfully, understanding why Orochimaru would be interested.

At the same time, the dense dust mist in the canyon gradually dissipated, vaguely revealing a huge phantom shadow.

Shizune's eyes narrowed. "Tsunade-sama, what is that thing down there?"

"It's sinister, cold, and causes a creeTojo numbness. This feeling must be a snake, no doubt."

Tsunade made her judgment, then puzzled, "It's just that this one's body is too large; not even Manda possesses this size. I'm not sure what species it is."

A moment later, the dust mist was scattered by the wind, and the giant snake revealed its true form.

In the valley path, a massive blue python was coiled, spiraling upward like ancient, intertwined tree roots, seemingly unshakeable.

Even with its body curled up, it was nearly twenty meters tall, standing majestically like a mountain.

Half of the valley path was covered in its shadow.

Its demonic golden snake eyes flickered, like brilliant fireworks that instantly vanished.

The scales were dense and tightly fitted, solid as armor and emerald green like grass.

A few charred scales smoked white, self-peeling, and new scales slowly grew to replace them, restoring it to its original state.

"What a huge snake!" Shizune couldn't help but exclaim.

"Indeed."

Tsunade's eyes flickered, guessing that this was likely a product of genetic modification.

...

Inside the blue python's mouth, it was pitch black, impossible to see one's hand.

Only a faint green glow attached to a snow-white Shinobi blade illuminated a small area.

Megumai gently blew into her son's ear and said softly, "Baby, you weren't disturbed, were you?"

Seiya was still a little dazed and shook his head, asking, "Mommy, was that... fireworks... outside just now?"

Megumai smiled. "You could say that."

"Were they... seeing... us off?"

Thinking that someone had held such a grand ceremony to send them off, Seiya was very happy.

Fireworks! Lively, festive, what a wonderful send-off!

"You could call it that for now," Megumai did not reveal the truth.

The commotion outside subsided into silence.

The blue python coiled in place, scanned the surroundings, and finally fixed its gaze on Tsunade and Shizune on the cliff face.

After a while, the blue python slowly and steadily lowered its head, touching it to the ground, and opened its giant mouth.

Megumai, holding Seiya, returned to the ground.

Immediately, the blue python lifted its head, constantly flicking its tongue out as a warning.

Megumai looked in the direction the snake's tongue was pointing, but unfortunately, the distance was too great to see clearly, only a vague image.

Megumai's mind raced, and she asked, "Baby, can you tell me what the person standing up there looks like?"

"Up there... there are two Onee-chans."

Seiya squinted, trying to find characteristics to describe to his mother.

"One of them has... yellow hair, and a... purple square sticker on her forehead."

"Sticker?"

Megumai was slightly taken aback, then understood and couldn't help but smile.

She pointed to her own chest and asked, "Baby, is that Onee-chan very big here?"

Seiya glanced at his mother, then turned his head to look at the Onee-chan on the cliff face.

Comparing the two, he nodded seriously. Although that Onee-chan was wrapped in a fox fur cloak like his mother, it wasn't at all illusory; on the contrary, she had a truly imposing grandeur.

Seeing her son's reaction, Megumai immediately knew the identity of the person.

Tsunade and Shizune flew down from the cliff face. The blue python's aura suddenly intensified, bracing itself.

Megumai gently patted its scales. "Midori-chan, go back."

As the words fell, with a 'poof,' a burst of white mist erupted.

The blue python obediently disappeared from its spot.

At the same time, in Megumai's secluded mountain cave, an unknown solution in a slender, sealed tube on the laboratory table suddenly bubbled, and a small, exquisite emerald-green female python appeared out of thin air.

...

Without the blue python, the valley path suddenly felt empty.

"It has been a long time since we last met, Tsunade-sama."

Facing her, Megumai recognized the visitors and bowed.

Back in Konoha, due to her outstanding talent, she had been taught some medical knowledge by Tsunade.

Although she had left Konoha now, the bond still existed, and the respect was necessary.

Tsunade glanced at the young Seiya, then fixed her gaze on Megumai's disguised face, and slowly said, "Long time no see."

"Megumi-senpai, hello," Shizune greeted politely.

"Hello," Megumai smiled at the young girl, then lowered her head to teach her son.

"Baby, this is Grandma Tsunade, and this is Shizune-neesan."

"Grandma? She's not old..."

Seiya was confused, blinking his eyes, curiously looking at the unfamiliar sister who was as young as his mother.

Tsunade laughed heartily, very pleased with the little one's reaction, and said, "Just call me Onee-chan."

Seiya readily complied, politely greeting them individually. "Hello, Onee-chan's".

Tsunade pointed to the corpses in the distance and said to Megumai, "The two Amegakure squads that ambushed you have all been dealt with."

"Thank you."

Megumai nodded politely. She was not surprised by the Amegakure Shinobi's attack.

Since they knew about the existence of Akatsuki's "Peace" Supermarket, they must have targeted her, the intelligence post manager, and an attack at any time was reasonable.

"It was no trouble; no need for thanks."

Tsunade waved her hand, then changed her tone and sighed, "I heard you died at Takamagahara; I never expected to see you in the Tetsu no Kuni!"

For an admired hero to be resurrected and start a family is undoubtedly a joyful and comforting thing.

Speaking of the past, Megumai's expression dimmed slightly.

"My mother fought to the death to clear a path, which is why I was lucky enough to survive."

Tsunade nodded slightly and said solemnly, "You are both Shinobis who deserve respect."

"Mommy, you should be happy!"

Sensing her mother's low spirits, Seiya quickly gave her two kisses on the cheek to cheer her up.

"Mhm!"

Megumai blossomed into a smile, her eyes curving like crescent moons, and hugged her son a little tighter.

The mother and son were harmonious and loving, like a beautiful picture.

Tsunade and Shizune looked at the cute and spirited little boy, and their lips couldn't help but curve into a smile too.

A moment later, Tsunade got back to the main topic.

"Megumai, are you planning to return to Konoha?"
