Victory in battle, victory in battle.
Asgard.
Thor watched the video of Captain America's combat instincts.
The way he moved… it was like witnessing a war god.
Thor couldn't help but admire him.
"You are fully qualified to be a captain!"
"Incredible!"
"He's like me—fearlessly storming a laboratory and seizing Mjolnir!"
"I wonder if I'll ever get the chance to fight him?"
As a warrior, he naturally sympathized with someone like Captain America, who possessed immense fighting skill.
But Loki, at this moment, had another thought.
Because Captain America couldn't engage in direct combat…
if he were Loki's enemy, he would need another approach.
For example,
disrupting his mind.
Loki wondered…
why hadn't his future self thought to use the scepter to influence Captain America during the Battle of New York?
The slums.
Dr. Banner could feel the Hulk stirring within him.
He took a deep breath, calming the restless beast inside.
It seemed…
the Hulk wanted to come out and test Captain America, to see who truly was the strongest on Earth.
[After defeating a group of enemies in the elevator.]
Captain America smashed the elevator control panel with his shield, stopping it between two floors.
He forced the elevator doors open.
Only twenty or thirty enemies had reached the corridor above and below, a well-equipped strike team charging toward him.
Given the circumstances…
no matter which floor Captain America tried to escape from,
it would not be easy.
Should he use the Mamba technique again—his elbow strikes?
Captain America shook his head.
Elbow strikes only worked in tight spaces; this corridor was too long.
So what could he do?
In less than two seconds, Captain America came up with a plan.
He closed the elevator doors again.
He looked at the building.
It wasn't tall—about forty to fifty floors—so no one would die if he jumped.
He didn't hesitate.
Taking a deep breath, he raised his shield and smashed through the glass.
[Jump out of the elevator!]
[Bang!]
He shattered another layer of glass and crashed heavily to the ground.
Ignoring the shocked cries around him, Captain America hopped on a motorcycle and sped away.
Behind the military camp.
Howard wore a proud smile.
He patted Captain America on the shoulder.
"Steve, thank you. Without me, you would have died back there."
Captain America was confused.
"If you weren't there in the future, why should I thank you?"
Howard grinned.
"Steve, did you see? Before you hit the ground, you used the vibranium shield to cushion your fall.
"I told you before—a vibranium shield can absorb 99% of impact. Even if you fall from forty or fifty floors, your body would be unharmed.
"That's because my shield was protecting you.
"Look closely at the video. The moment you got up, the shield had darkened slightly from absorbing energy. But since it could dissipate the energy, it gradually returned to normal."
Captain America finally understood.
So that's how it happened.
But at the same time, he realized…
his offensive options were still lacking.
He relied mostly on combat instinct and experience.
Compared to other superheroes:
Tony had the Iron Man armor.
Banner had the Hulk.
Hawkeye had all kinds of specialized arrows.
Thor had Mjolnir.
Even Black Widow had her pistols.
But he… had nothing except his vibranium shield.
Without combat instinct, experience, and the super-soldier serum, it would be hard to say who would win that elevator battle.
Captain America deeply acknowledged his limitations:
he lacked an offensive weapon.
He could swing the shield to push back enemies,
but that required skill.
If you were unskilled or a beginner, the shield wouldn't return to you—like the falcon in the park earlier.
After all, in the 1940s, the world needed a protector.
A shield symbolizing defense was enough.
It looked heroic in promotional photos.
No one would take him seriously if he posed with a sharp blade or a revolver—it would make him look like a random villain.
So Captain America understood:
he had the vibranium shield because the era demanded it.
But now, seventy years later, a shield alone wasn't enough.
He needed an offensive weapon to complement it.
A combination of shield and spear—a perfect balance of defense and attack.
This would greatly increase his chances on the battlefield.
In fact, Captain America had already considered the perfect weapon: Mjolnir.
He had watched Thor in action and long coveted it.
Mjolnir could summon lightning, instantly heal, and allow flight.
Most importantly, it always returned to its owner, even if thrown far away.
In every way, it was superior to the vibranium shield.
However…
From the previous videos, he knew: not everyone could lift it.
Even Thor, when demoted to Earth, couldn't lift Mjolnir at first—it didn't recognize him immediately.
Could he earn Mjolnir's acceptance?
Finally holding the hammer…
If he could…
Captain America's excitement surged.
In his mind, he visualized combining the vibranium shield and Mjolnir in combat.
He imagined returning to the Battle of New York, cutting through every enemy with this combination.
Hiss—
He desperately wanted Mjolnir.
At that moment, a new title appeared on the screen:
"Famous Scene 5: Captain America and Black Widow's Passionate Kiss"
