Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 : A Traitor in Our Midst

Love Behind the Kremlin Walls

Sasha's heart was still racing as they sped away from the border, the lights of the West twinkling in the distance. Jack's eyes were fixed on the road, his expression grim.

"What is it?" Sasha asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"We have a problem," Jack said, his eyes flicking to the rearview mirror. "I just got a message from my contact. There's a traitor in our midst, someone close to your father."

Sasha's mind reeled, her thoughts racing. Who could it be? Her father's inner circle was small, and she knew them all.

"Who is it?" she asked, her voice shaking.

Jack's eyes met hers, his expression serious. "I don't know, but we have to be careful. We can't trust anyone."

Sasha nodded, her mind racing. She knew that she and Jack were in grave danger. The KGB would stop at nothing to uncover the truth, and they would not hesitate to eliminate anyone who got in their way.

As they drove, Sasha's thoughts turned to her family. Her father, the General, was a ruthless man, but could he be involved in something like this? And what about her mother, the Countess? She was always so cold, so calculating.

Sasha's mind was a jumble of emotions as they arrived at a safe house, a small, nondescript building on the outskirts of town. Jack led her inside, his eyes scanning the room.

"It's okay," he said, his voice soft. "We're safe here."

Sasha nodded, but she knew that they were not safe. Not yet. Not until they uncovered the identity of the traitor and brought them to justice.

As they sat down to discuss their next move, Sasha's phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out, her eyes widening as she saw the message.

"It's my brother," she whispered, her voice shaking. "He wants to meet with me, says it's urgent."

Jack's eyes narrowed, his expression suspicious. "I don't think it's a good idea," he said, his voice firm.

But Sasha knew that she had to go. She had to know what her brother wanted, and she had to know if he was involved in the treachery.

"I have to go," she said, her voice firm.

Jack's eyes met hers, his expression serious. "I'll go with you," he said, his voice soft.

Sasha nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. They were walking into a trap, but they had no choice. They had to know the truth.

As they arrived at the meeting place, a small café on the outskirts of town, Sasha's heart sank. Her brother was not alone. He was with a man she had never seen before, a man with cold, hard eyes.

"Welcome, Sasha," the man said, his voice dripping with malice. "I've been waiting for you."

Sasha's eyes narrowed, her mind racing. Who was this man, and what did he want?

And then, it hit her. She knew who he was. He was the traitor, the one who had been working with the KGB.

Here is the continuation:

Sasha's eyes locked onto the man's, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that she had to play it cool, to pretend that she didn't know what was going on.

"Who are you?" she asked, her voice firm.

The man smiled, his eyes glinning with triumph. "I'm a friend, Sasha. A friend who wants to help you."

Sasha's eyes narrowed, her mind racing. She knew that she couldn't trust this man, but she had to play along.

"What do you want?" she asked, her voice cold.

The man leaned forward, his eyes burning with intensity. "I want to help you, Sasha. I want to help you bring down your father's regime, and I want to help you escape the country."

Sasha's eyes widened, her mind reeling. Could it be true? Was this man really on her side?

Or was he just playing her, using her to get what he wanted?
